CHAPTER 912: WAKE UP!

Day Ninety-Seven...

( Present Time )

Nine days had passed since Jane, Nathan, and Ethan fell into a coma. Their loved ones were still waiting for them to wake up.

Mr. Hiroshi and Old Man Xu refused to give up on them even though the doctors told them to prepare for the worst.

"Chairman Xu, you should take a rest. You haven’t slept yet. I’ll watch over them," Stephen said.

He dropped by the medical facility today together with Aiden. They had been visiting Nathan, Jane, and Ethan daily, wishing for their past recovery.

"Uncle Xu, go home for now. You might collapse if you continue this," Aiden chimed in, urging Old Man Xu to rest for today.

Old Man Xu had been blaming himself for what happened. Things wouldn’t have ended up like this if he hadn’t abandoned Vincent. This revenge was rooted in his mistake. He should have acknowledged his son.

"Okay. I’ll go home for now. Please update if there is an improvement in their health conditions," Old Man Xu said in his sad tone.

"Yes, Uncle. We will call you immediately," Aiden reassured him.

Old Man Xu left the ward with a heavy heart. Aiden and Stephen stayed inside, looking after Jane, Nathan, and Ethan.

It did not take long before another figure joined them. It was Black Rose, also known as Cherry.

She greeted Stephen and Aiden as soon as she entered the ward. She brought fresh flowers. She arranged them and put them on the flower vase placed on Jane’s bedside table.

Cherry was standing next to Jane’s bed while Aiden was standing next to Nathan’s bed. Stephen, on the other hand, was standing in the middle of Ethan and Jane’s bed.

They were silent, just watching the three patients.

"Bro?" Aiden called out, his eyes fixed on Nathan. "When are you going to wake up?" He started talking to Nathan.

Aiden took a deep sigh before he continued, "Lately, I’ve been seeing you in my dreams. Not only you... but including Jane and Ethan. Stephen and I tried to help you with your marriage proposal. However, it ends up into a tragedy."

Stephen and Black Rose turned to Aiden with shock.

"You have those weird dreams too?" Stephen asked Aiden in disbelief.

Black Rose darted her gaze back and forth between Stephen and Aiden.

"What a coincidence?! I have those dreams too!" She responded, catching the two men’s attention.

The three of them exchanged puzzled looks at each other. They talked about their dreams and they were surprised to find out they had seen the same scenes in their respective dreams.

"Eh? Stephen... Can you explain this as a psychologist? What is going on here? Is it possible to have the same dreams?" Aiden asked his best friend exasperatedly.

However, Stephen was at a loss for words. Under normal circumstances, it wasn’t possible for three people to have the same dreams unless they experienced them together in real life. Those dreams would serve as flashback memories of what they’ve experienced together.

"I’m sorry but I don’t have a scientific explanation for this. But our brain is full of wonders,"

Stephen replied.

"Sigh. Maybe we just miss them so much," Black Rose said, holding Jane’s hand.

"I’ve missed you, Bro. What do we have to do for you to wake up?" Aiden uttered, holding Nathan’s hand.

Black Rose and Stephen could only sigh, eyeing Jane and Nathan helplessly. They were hoping to see them opening their eyes.

After a while, Aiden broke the deafening silence inside the ward.

"Steph, is it true? Do you think a coma patient can hear our voice? Will Nathan listen to me if I threaten him?" Aiden consulted Stephen.

Stephen smiled faintly and nodded. "Yes. Of course, he can hear you. You can continue talking to him."

Aiden gazed down, squeezing Nathan’s hand. "Fine. Let me threaten this guy so that he will be forced to wake up!"

"Nathan! Wake up now! Open your eyes! Don’t you know? Stephen is here with me. He is standing next to Jane. If you don’t wake up, he will kiss her... like a Prince Charming kissing Snow White! Will you allow that to happen?"

Stephen and Black Rose just stared at Aiden in disbelief. He could really act childishly. But thanks to his presence, he could lighten the atmosphere inside the ward.

He might be joking. But they knew that all he wanted was for Nathan, Jane, and Ethan to wake up. They needed some miracle for that to happen.

Stephen and Black Rose just allowed Aiden to speak.

"Wake up now, Bro! Your best friend is going to steal your woman!" Aiden continued.

Black Rose could only shake her head helplessly while Stephen just laughed it off. Then suddenly, Aiden gasped loudly.

"Oh my God! Bro! I think Nathan’s hand just moves!!!" Aiden yelped, his eyes widening in shock.

He blinked several times, just staring at his own hand that was holding Nathan’s hand.

"Don’t make a joke like that, Aiden. We might believe you," Stephen said, slightly scolding him.

But Aiden shook his head frantically. "Stephen! Come here! See this. His fingers move. I’m not joking!"

Sensing the seriousness in his voice, Black Rose and Stephen dashed toward him, checking Nathan’s hand.

"Oh my! Nathan opens his eyes!" Aiden screamed as soon as he met Nathan’s gaze.

Both Black Rose and Stephen were also surprised when they saw Nathan looking at them. He blinked several times. It seemed like he still had a blurry vision.

"Cherry, call the doctor!" Stephen instructed her as he approached Nathan, tapping his shoulder.

"Nate! Nate! Can you hear me? If you do, blink your eyes once!" Stephen said to Nathan, his heart beating rapidly as he gazed at him with anticipation.

Nathan blinked as he instructed. His eyes moved down as if he was signaling Stephen to remove his oxygen mask. He was still too weak to raise his hand. And his body felt a little bit numb.

"Nate! You are awake! You are finally awake!" Aiden repeated his words as he shook his hand. He was rejoicing. "OMG, I can’t believe it! You felt threatened by my words. You really love Jane!"

Stephen couldn’t stop himself from smiling. He removed Nathan’s oxygen mask and brought his ear closer to his mouth.

"Jane," with his hoarse voice, Nathan uttered her name weakly. "Where... is she?"

"Good job, Nate... for staying alive. Don’t worry... Jane is here," Stephen said, reassuring him.

When Nathan heard that, he closed his eyes again. His eyelids still felt heavy.
