CHAPTER 918: A HAPPY FAMILY

Day Ninety-Eight...

"Hey, Nate, what did my doctor say to you? Why are you smiling like a fool?" Jane asked him teasingly. She caught him grinning from ear to ear while talking to her doctor earlier.

She wondered what her doctor said to Nathan for him to change his mood. Earlier, he was annoyed when their intimate moment was disrupted by the call. She even overheard Nathan reprimanding the doctor over the phone.

"Oh, it’s nothing. He just said that your examination results are all normal." Nathan replied, fighting a smile. He wanted to surprise Jane so he hadn’t revealed yet that she was pregnant with their second child.

’Ethan will be overjoyed once he hears the piece of good news. I will surprise them... including my Dad and my father-in-law. We have a celebration party tomorrow night. I will announce Jane’s pregnancy during the party.’ Nathan had made up his mind. He will share this good news with everyone tomorrow. Another reason to celebrate.

"Hmm. Since my results are normal then we can finally continue..." Jane said, quickly dragging Nathan into bed.

She made him lay down on the bed as she climbed on top of him. Without further ado, Jane crashed her mouth on Nathan’s mouth, kissing him fiercely. She began undressing Nathan by tearing off his shirt.

Jane was now taking the lead, satiating her yearning and desire for Nathan. Her hands began to touch and explore his body, her fingers gently caressing his chest and sliding down his abs.

Nathan could only swallow hard and suck in her breath between their kisses. He was supporting Jane’s body, careful not to harm her.

It did not take long before Jane’s fingers reached the zipper of his pants. Nathan couldn’t resist her. However, the thought of their baby inside Jane’s womb made him reluctant to go further.

With a resolute move, Nathan suddenly captured Jane’s hand, stopping her from unzipping his pants.

"Uhm, Jane... I don’t think we should be doing this right now. You just woke up from a coma," Nathan said as an alibi.

Jane blinked in confusion and disbelief. She hadn’t expected Nathan to suddenly stop her, leaving her hanging. Raising an eyebrow, she got off him, pouting her lips.

"You were the one who started this," Jane lamented.

Nathan could only scratch the back of his head and smile sheepishly before grabbing her. He hugged her from behind to console Jane.

He rested his chin over her shoulder and whispered, "Don’t be upset, my love. I promise I will make it up to you. But for now, we need to abstain."

"Besides, we can’t let our son wait for us for too long. Ethan wants to show you something. This might help you recover your memories," Nathan added.

Jane’s interest was piqued upon hearing his last words. "Regain my lost memory. Alright! Let’s go. I want to find out what I’ve missed."

She immediately put her clothes on and fixed herself before dragging Nathan out of his room. Since she tore off his shirt, Nathan had to grab another shirt from his wardrobe. The two of them headed to Ethan’s playing room.

Nathan guided her to sit down on the sofa, joining Ethan.

Jane darted her gaze back and forth between Nathan and Ethan. She wondered what they prepared for her in this room.

"Mom, there is something you have to know. I’ll show you the journal you’ve written on my father’s laptop. You can find your forgotten memories here. Mom, don’t be shocked if you read some supernatural phenomenon. Believe it or not, all these things happened in real life and you experienced them yourself." Ethan made sure to warn his mother before reading the journal.

"Do you trust us, Mom?"

Jane smiled and nodded without hesitation. "Yes, of course, I do trust you, my dear son."

Nathan and Ethan never left Jane’s side as she read her journal silently. They gave her time to absorb and process everything in her mind.

Jane never showed any doubts as she read the journal. She was so calm. Sometimes, she couldn’t help but giggle after reading some funny moments she did.

Even though she couldn’t exactly remember everything, for some unknown reason, the events and incidents in her journal felt so familiar to her.

She also felt a pang of pain and sadness when she read about Bam-Bam, the magical creature who always guided her in her journey. He was the one who gave her a second chance to live.

Then suddenly, her tears fell in the corners of her eyes without any warning.

Ethan immediately reached out, wiping her tears. Nathan, on the other hand, rubbed her back while giving her a comforting hug.

"Bam-Bam is like my guardian angel," she mumbled with a sad smile on her face.

Ethan nodded in agreement. "He is the best spirit, Mom! I love him so much!"

Nathan took a deep sigh. "Too bad I didn’t meet him. I didn’t get a chance to thank him for everything he did for us. He even sacrificed his life to save us."

There was a moment of silence in the room. The three of them were thinking about Bam-Bam.

Jane didn’t doubt her journal even once. She could feel it in her heart that those events truly happened and she had just forgotten some of them.

"This really makes sense. The soul swap, Bam-Bam’s existence... my one-hundred-day mission, and the miracles we’ve experienced over and over again. It was all thanks to Bam-Bam."

In the middle of their conversation, Ethan’s robotic friends– Powy, Riemc, and Star S, approached them.

"Master, we also have proof that the soul swap did really happen. We recorded Miss Abigail’s secret." Powy said before signaling Riemc to play the recording video.

"This is what happened," Riemc said.

The robot showed Jane and Nathan the video recording of Abigail’s conversation with Ethan.

*Video Recording is playing!*

Abigail: "Ethan, I have a secret I wanna share with you. Can you promise me to keep it to yourself?"

Ethan:"I promise! What is it, Mom? Tell me."

Abigail:"I have another identity. Not as Abigail Scarlett. I’m Jane Frost. That’s my real name. My soul got lost and I am possessing this body temporarily."

Ethan:"I believe you. I will recognize your soul in whatever body you are in... because you are my mom."

*End of Recording.*

Jane immediately pulled Ethan, hugging him tightly. "You always believe in me, my son... and you even feel that I’m your mother... even before we find proof of our true connection. I’m so overwhelmed right now."

"Mommy, this only means that our bond and connection are very strong. No wonder I became instantly attached to you at our first encounter." Ethan said, gently patting her back.

Nathan could only smile as he watched and listened to the mother and son duo.

"Hmm. Now, I’m getting jealous. I feel out of place here. Why do I feel like I’m the third wheel in this story?"

Jane and Ethan burst into laughter because of Nathan’s remarks.

"Don’t worry, Dad! Mom and I love you so much," Ethan consoled him.

"Son, what if you will find the girl for you in the future, will your mom still be your number one favorite person in life?" Nathan asked his son, grinning playfully.

"And how about you, my love? What if you give birth to our second child in the future, will Ethan remain your number one favorite person in life?" Nathan also asked Jane.

Jane just pursed her lips while Ethan glared at his father.

"Dad, are you trying to make us jealous of one another? You are so petty! I wanna punch you! Mom, please punch Dad for me!"

Jane quickly punched Nathan on his chest. But Nathan just continued laughing at them.

He captured the two and hugged them both using his strong arms.

"I’m just teasing both of you. Don’t be mad, okay?" Nathan squeezed them in his arms.

Their laughter reverberated in the playroom.

"Mom, Dad, I love you both. I’m really thankful because we are together again. Let’s live happily from now on. I will make sure to protect both of you! I will grow up and be strong to protect our family."

Jane and Nathan were touched by Ethan’s sincere words.

"Ethan, my son... don’t grow up so fast. I still want you to stay as my boy... and savor every moment as I watch you grow up. Allow me to take care of you and be a good mother to you."

"My only regret is that I was not around when you learned how to crawl, to stand, to walk, and to even talk. I was supposed to be there as your mother... But I didn’t get the chance to spend those moments with you. I’m so sorry, Ethan."

Ethan cupped Jane’s face. "Mom, don’t cry, and don’t be sad. The important thing is... you are now here... with me... with my Dad. We will make up for those times."
