Day Ninety-Eight…

Vincent wanted to have a fresh start together with Mia. She was the only precious thing left in his life.

"Do you want to take Mia with you?" Jane asked him.

Vincent kept looking at the ground as he responded, "Yes. I will take her with me. She is my biological daughter. She is my only redemption."

"I have grown fond of Mia. You used her to deceive us. Since Ethan is my son, there is no way she is my daughter. However… just thinking about not seeing her… I can't help but be saddened about this. I really love her like my own daughter. Tell me, Vincent. Who is Mia's biological mother? Is it Monica or Helena?" Jane couldn't stop herself from wanting to hear the truth. She just hoped that Mia would be happy.

In this current timeline, Jane doesn't know that Mia is her biological daughter. Her last memory of Vincent's revelation regarding how Mia was conceived wasn't recorded in her journal. Jane had forgotten about it after returning to the current timeline.

"Not them. She has a different mother. But I can't tell you now. There is no point in revealing her mother's identity," Vincent replied cautiously.

Mia was conceived through In Vitro Fertilization. Vincent would like to keep this secret forever as he promised to take care of Mia. He thought it was best for Jane not to know because she already had her own family– Ethan and Nathan.

Meanwhile, Jane fell silent for a moment. She didn't know what to feel after hearing this.

Nathan held her hand, squeezing her palm gently. "If you wish to get your revenge against Vincent, I'll do it for you. If you want to give him one last chance to have a fresh start, I will let you decide. I will respect your decision."

Vincent braced himself for what Jane was going to choose. He knew he didn't deserve to be forgiven easily, but he was determined to change.

"I swear… in my daughter's name. I will no longer bother you and Nathan. This is my wish. I already disbanded my mafia organization. I will no longer be a threat to your lives. I will go to a place far away from here. I will live simply and quietly with my daughter." Vincent continued to convince them.

"All I want is reconciliation," he added.

"I will vouch for him. I will make sure that he will never break his words." Butler Li suddenly showed up and interrupted them.

"If you can't trust my nephew, then I hope you can trust me," Butler Li said earnestly.

Jane and Nathan were glad to see Butler Li once again. They heard from Old Man Xu that Butler Li tried everything to stop Vincent and Monica. Even though he was Vincent's accomplice, he never wished for Nathan to get hurt.

"Alright. I'm not going to kill you, Vincent. But it doesn't mean I forgive you. It will take time before I can do it. But promise me one thing… Please take good care of Mia. I still want to stay connected with her. I might not be her mother, but I don't want to cut ties with her. I love her as my own daughter. Don't stop me from seeing here once in a while."

Vincent finally raised his head with a bright smile on his face. He nodded frantically.

"If that is what you want, then I will not forbid her from contacting you. You can always keep in touch with her. I promise… I will do my best to become a good father for her."

Vincent shifted his gaze to Nathan. "Nate… I hope someday you will be able to accept me as your brother."

Nathan pursed his lips. He hated Vincent because of what he did to Jane. However, he couldn't deny the fact that he was still his brother. All of this is rooted in the fact that his father didn't acknowledge Vincent as his son.

If his father had made a different decision at that time, maybe he would have felt glad to have a brother. Things would end up differently. They could have formed a strong bond as siblings.

"Let time decide and heal everything. I'm not closing the possibility of me calling you my brother in the future… as long as you won't interfere with my life again. Stay away from my woman. She is mine!" Nathan wrapped his arm around Jane's waist, showing his possessiveness.

Vincent could only look at them helplessly. "You don't have to worry. No matter what I do, she will always choose you. I already accepted my defeat."

Butler Li felt surreal just watching this kind of interaction between Nathan and Vincent. At least, they were no longer fighting.

"I guess… I've done my part here. Thank you, Uncle, for helping me out. I will never disappoint you again. Forgive me for my stubbornness. Starting today, I will listen to you." Vincent said to Butler Li with utmost sincerity.

Butler Li wrapped his arm around Vincent's shoulders, letting out a soft chuckle. "I'm glad you are finally willing to listen. Let's leave now. We are disturbing the couple."

Before leaving, Butler Li expressed his gratitude to Nathan and Jane for their kindness and understanding. They let Vincent go.

"About Mia, she can stay here with you. We will leave after a week. You can spend more time with her while we are still here." Vincent allowed Mia to stay with them in the Sparks Mansion.

Jane was grateful to hear that. She wanted to say a proper goodbye to Mia before going abroad.

Nathan and Jane sent off the two men.

"Nate, are you not afraid that we might regret letting Vincent go without punishing him… for giving him another chance?" Jane asked his thoughts.

"I'm not certain if we made the right decision. But I do know that every person deserves a second chance to start over. I have no right to judge him… because just like him I did a lot of crime… I committed a great sin against you by taking away the lives of your comrades." Nathan reminisced about the past.

"Even though Vincent orchestrated everything, we couldn't deny the fact I was the one who killed your comrades. But you chose to give me another chance. You've forgiven me."

Hearing his words, Jane smiled tenderly before leaning against him. "You are right. Let's move forward and have a fresh start. We have to break this cycle of revenge. Let's put our tragic past behind us. Through this, we can continue living happily and peacefully with our loved ones."

Meanwhile…

As Vincent stepped inside the car, he requested something from Butler Li.

"I want to talk to the old man. Can you accompany me, Uncle… to visit him?"

Butler Li's eyes lit up with joy. "Yes, of course. It's time for you to have a heart-to-heart talk with your father. I'll bring you to him."

If Vincent truly wanted to have a fresh start, he needed to let go of his past grudges. He had to begin by forgiving his father, Old Man Xu.

"Thank you, Uncle… for being by my side. You never abandoned me even when I went astray."

Butler Li chuckled and reflexively ruffled his hair as if Vincent was just a boy. "You silly! No need to thank me. I promise to take care of you. You are not only my nephew… for me… You are my son."
