CHAPTER 66: CH 66: CANARI UNDER COVER- PART 1

"B-Boss, are you alright? Maybe you are drinking too much-flinch."

Canari looked at her subordinate with an annoyed look, wondering where he got the guts to talk back to her. She did not like it when her people talked back to her.

She might not be the leader of her guild, but she was a top player and a high-ranked member. And most importantly, she was drunk and had lost her reason. Everything irritated her more than she was willing to admit.

"Shut up-! I do not want to hear you talk. How dare you say anything to me, you-hic you idiot?"

Canari’s vision swam in and out of focus as she yelled. She almost threw a plate at the man’s face before she rubbed her forehead and turned away to vomit something out.

There was a pregnant pause around the room after that, and the subordinate audibly gulped as he watched Canari take out her bad mood on him. But he could also not snap back because her abilities kept him stuck in place.

The only thing he could do now was to suggest something to her that she would like so that she would let him go.

"B-Boss, I know that you are having a hard time with a player recently, right? Since you cannot get close to him by attacking him, then how about you try and get close to him and learn his secrets first? If you know how they got this strong, then you would also know how to defeat them? And who knows? Maybe they have their circumstances-"

A sword buried itself into the wall beside the subordinate’s face as he finished speaking. His face had no color left and he shook in his place. But he refused to back down and kept looking at Canari.

Canari slowly walked toward the wall and pulled her sword out. Her fists and body were inches away from the subordinate and he held his ground. Since he had already made a suggestion, it would be unwise for him to go back on it now.

"Hmm, so you do value your life. Good job on not moving away from here. However, you should also know when you should or should not suggest something to me. Next time, keep your mouth shut."

Canari suggested as she moved away and the subordinate pressed his lips and let out a sigh of relief. Somehow, he had survived this encounter and he quickly rushed out of the door the first chance he got.

As Canari watched the man flee, she could not help but think over his idea a little.

She did have a chance to get close to Cane and observe him from close to try and...find out if he was as innocent as he claimed to be.

’Tsk, there is no way that man is not a criminal. The system of this game stores data and if you make a new account, it transfers some personal data like ’special titles’. That man is just trying to hide on his alt...’

Canari was sure about this, but the others were beginning to doubt this notion. So it fell on her to remind them that they should not doubt the game’s system.

’I am going to go and tear off your mask, Cane. It is time to show the world that you are a criminal. And if I have to tarnish... myself, then it is a small price I am willing to pay.’

Canari did one thing she had sworn not to do when she started playing this game seriously - she brought out her alt that she had created for fun.

The account was an ogre as well, and was the same class as her current one. But in terms of power and equipment, it was way lower than her main.

So it was a perfect account to go undercover and not rouse Cane’s suspicion.

The cringy name caused Canari to frown and blush. She had randomly mashed her buttons on her keyboard because she had been in a hurry when she created this account, and she could not change it now.

’The name is fine. I have no time to pay attention to it when I have Cane to find. Let’s open his stream to check where he is right now.’

Canari looked at the stream layout of Cane. She did not follow him because she liked him. It was quite the opposite.

His stream was an excellent way to be able to keep an eye on him and to make sure she knew where that man was at all times. There was no other reason behind her watching Cane’s stream.

Canari nodded before she went to where Cane was streaming at. He was currently alone and this was the best time to approach him.

She ignored the part of her brain that told her that she was just trying to convince herself that she was doing something right when she had no evidence of that. But she shushed that part of her brain and focused on moving forward.

She reached the dungeons that Cane was running in record time before she waited for him outside. Her avatar was extremely low-leveled. But she was not afraid of coming to these areas because she was skilled.

Her drunk self saw Cane exit the dungeons and she headed toward him immediately.

"Who are you?"

Cane asked, his guard up as he looked at Canari. She frowned but kept moving forward, past his guard and jabbed Cane**’s** chest with her finger. It was a solid chest, firm and unyielding, and it made Canari forget what she was here for.

She jabbed the chest again and again, her hazy and drunken mind forgetting what she was here to do. Suddenly, she could not recall a single thing anymore.
