CHAPTER 67: CH 67: CANARI UNDER COVER- PART 2

"Errrr, can he help you out?"

Cane asked, now a little weirded out by what was happening to him. He wanted to push the female back and tell her to stop, but his instincts told him that it would be a useless thing to do.

Not only was the person harassing him drunk, but she was also extremely drunk and had lost her reason as well. So he allowed her to do what she wanted for the time being.

"Y-You-! Are not a good person-! hic Why else would the system mark you like that? But your actions hic...why don’t you do anything bad? That way, I would have a reason to officially hate you-?"

The female asked as she continued to jab Cane’s chest. She seemed to have caught herself finally, and she gave Cane a sour look. Her eyes continued to look between his face and his chest, clearly telling her preference.

Cane sighed before he pushed her back a little bit. Her data gave away who she was, and Cane could only sigh as he looked at her data.

’So this is Canari’s alt account? What a pain. Why did she decide to get drunk if she was going to come undercover? Can’t she tell that she is blowing her cover?’

Cane asked, but in his heart, he already seemed to know why Canari was acting like this. It was because she doubted his innocence, but she did not have proof of Cane’s crime, causing her to become bitter.

"Miss, he thinks you are drunk. You should head back now-"

"I don’t want to head back. I just want to figure you out. Just give me a second-"

Canari leaned her whole weight against him as her feet stopped supporting her. Cane opened his arms to quickly catch her as she started to crash, and Canari flushed when she tried to pull herself away.

But her arms had no strength, causing her to futilely try and push against Cane. But in the end, she ended up fisting over his shirt and frowning at him.

"This is not right. You are a bad person, so you should do bad things. Why are you trying to help me out like this? This is so not fair-"

Canari tried to hit Cane’s chest but ultimately gave up and just stood against him, her face buried in his chest. Cane allowed Canari some more time until she caught herself and pushed herself away.

Awareness of what she was doing slowly crept inside her eyes and she pulled back with a flush on her face.

"F-Forget what just happened. I was too drunk to notice what I was doing. Now, where were we? Ah yes-! I am here because I have a proposal for you- I want to join you as your friend and companion. Will you accept me?"

Canari’s heart thundered in her chest as she waited for Cane’s answer. Her nerves felt tight and her eyes continued to shine as they looked at Cane.

He gave her a look before he finally sighed. This was his chance to clear up his misunderstanding and also further his mission.

Canari was not considered a ’human’ right now. She was an Ogre, so she would be the perfect fit for his quest.

The only problem was her temper, but she seemed to have it under control as well.

’She is the perfect candidate to help me right now.’

Cane nodded and made up his decision.

"Alright, you can help me out. Do you want to go to a lower-level area? The monsters around here might be a bit too high for you-?"

Cane asked, but Canari frowned, taking offense at what he had just said.

"I will be just fine. You don’t have to worry about me. I promise I will not hold you back, so we can run this dungeon."

Canari promised, and Cane gave her an almost doubtful look before he sighed and decided to give her a look.

However, he decided to trust her judgment in the end and returned to farming with Canari in tow. He also decided to turn on his stream so that he could continue with his current line of work.

"Everyone, welcome back. Today, I have a very special announcement for you all. I will be opening my guild soon. Before you ask- yes, the kill-on-sight is a pain, and yes, it is trying to prevent me from opening a guild all alone. But don’t worry. I do have a solution for this."

He assured the chat and got some doubtful looks from the people.

Canari noticed that he was online and decided to come over as well.

"You can make a guild? Are you going to make one? Will you invite me as well?"

She asked, and the chat quickly turned their attention from his announcement to the new person in the video.

[HaremKingXXX: Holy hell-! Another woman? Just how many females do you surround yourself with?]

[Shura: Cane, I do not want to doubt you, but all your companions for this game have been women. Are you...going after a certain demographic?]

[WinWinWin: We are losing the ancient text...]

Cane sighed as he looked at the chat. He quickly clarified for their own sake.

"You do know that Dani is a guy with a female avatar? And I do get plenty of male interaction. You do not have to worry about it."

[Shura: Oh no-! He’s becoming delusional now.]

[HaremKingXXX: Dani might be a male in real life, but here he is a girl and we have all accepted this.]

These chatters were not willing to take him seriously, and Cane decided to just...give up. He was not going to play these games any longer.

"Anyway, I am going to farm now. You are welcome to join me...or not. It depends on you all."

He told the chat before he started to head toward the dungeon. Canari ran after him to keep up with him, and she acted as a support for him.

It was easy enough to see why she was a top player as well. She was swift and accurate, and despite her level, she was a good player.
