30 Years in Whitebeard’s Crew, I Became Invincible
Chapter 162: A Mistake All Men Make – A Joy Only Pops Understands
"Weevil!!!"
The moment the name was spoken, everyone turned to look at Whitebeard.
Edward Weevil.
He publicly claimed to be Whitebeard's son.
For years, he had been using Whitebeard's name to run wild out in the world, causing trouble everywhere. During all this time, the Whitebeard Pirates hadn't made a single move against him.
It wasn't because they didn't want to. Naturally, the crew was irritated that someone was out there abusing their captain's name. Many wanted to go and teach him a lesson.
But because Whitebeard himself had forbidden them from taking action.
Now, several of their allied captains had been beaten by him.
Whitebeard's expression turned a bit awkward. After storming with anger earlier, he now looked hesitant and uncomfortable, since it involved someone connected to him.
Roy smiled gleefully at the situation, waiting to see the old man's reaction.
"What the hell are you laughing at?" Whitebeard shot Roy a glare.
"Ein'ein, remember this old man. He goes around leaving 'souvenirs' everywhere and doesn't even acknowledge his own kids. We're not playing with him anymore, understand?" Roy said as he held his daughter.
Rein giggled, reaching her little hands out toward Whitebeard's iconic mustache, trying to grab it.
"Give her to me!"
"Go hug your own kid." Roy dodged skillfully. As long as he was around, no one else was allowed to touch his daughter.
"Hmph." Whitebeard snorted.
He looked at the injured subordinates, visibly frustrated and unsure of what to do.
Marco and the others, just like Roy, were grinning, enjoying watching him squirm.
He had just made a strong statement earlier. How was he going to walk it back now?
The world believed Weevil to be his son, and Whitebeard had never openly denied it.
After all, Miss Buckin was once a member of the Rocks Pirates and used to cling to Whitebeard all the time.
Even though Whitebeard had no official children, he'd always had plenty of beautiful women around.
Lately, the triplet nurses had been serving him every day. No one knew just how happy he really was.
Pops' happiness was beyond their imagination.
"Sigh... I'll handle this," Whitebeard finally said.
Roy chuckled. How he'd handle it was anyone's guess, but that idiot Weevil was clearly Buckin's mess.
Years ago, MADS discovered the lineage factor and made a successful clone, Stussy, using Buckin's genes.
Buckin, seeing this, became hopeful. She approached Whitebeard and asked for his blood.
Of course, Whitebeard initially refused. But whether he later changed his mind or was just persuaded during a good time, he eventually handed over plenty of "genetic material."
Buckin got what she wanted, but by then, MADS had disbanded. Without Vegapunk's expertise, she had to do it alone and ended up creating a flawed clone, Weevil.
Among all the clones, only two were highly successful: Stussy and that thing in Mary Geoise.
Whether it was Judge Vinsmoke, Caesar, or Queen, only Vegapunk had truly mastered and perfected the cloning technology.
The banquet continued. Maybe because of her pirate blood, Rein loved this kind of lively environment, especially watching people dance and drink around a bonfire.
"This little one will be no less than her brother in the future," Roy said as he held his excited daughter.
She wasn't even one year old yet, and already showed a strong personality. She was bound to be special.
....
A few days later, the Whitebeard Pirates received unexpected visitors.
"A dragon?"
"Who is it?"
"A black dragon?"
"Wait... could it be!!"
Upon seeing the black dragon appear, two more dragons immediately flew up to engage it, clashing fiercely in the sky.
Giant dragons battling above created a majestic sight. Everyone watched in awe, hearts pounding, feeling incredibly small in comparison.
"Ugh, seriously." Roy had just managed to get his daughter to sleep when he heard Whitey Bay's voice outside.
"Why are you so worked up? They're just playing," Roy said, looking up at the sky.
"Is that how you act when your son comes home?" Whitey Bay snapped.
"He's grown up. It's time he figured out the kind of life he wants," Roy replied.
The three dragons fought for a while before finally descending to the ground.
"Hahaha! Loxus, you've gotten so strong, we both couldn't beat you," Kingdew laughed as he threw an arm around Loxus.
"Right? It's only been two years, and you've improved so much. Big bro and sis will be so proud," Fossa said.
"I missed Grandpa Whitebeard...my mom and... my dad," Loxus said happily.
"Loxus!"
Whitey Bay ran over, clearly overjoyed. But when she got close, she realized her son had grown to be over two meters tall, nearly three.
"Loxus, how did you get so tall?" she asked, looking up at him.
"No idea. I just grew like this," Loxus scratched his head.
"Well, good. You're all grown up now, different from before," Whitey Bay said, noting that he now wore leather and had tanned quite a bit.
"Gurararara! Loxus's back! Now, go capture that Beasts Pirates officer already," Whitebeard laughed and ordered his crew.
"Grandpa Whitebeard, would you really have the heart to capture me?" Loxus teased.
"Me? No. But your scoundrel of a father probably would," Whitebeard replied, throwing Roy under the bus.
At the mention of Roy, Loxus's face turned serious. Over the past two years, he'd matured a lot. Everything he'd experienced opened his eyes, and he realized how naive he once was.
"Where is my father?" he asked.
"Probably too embarrassed to face you," Whitebeard said.
"Hahaha, big bro probably feels guilty," Marco joked.
Thump!
Roy appeared behind him and knocked Marco on the head.
"Don't get any ideas," Roy said.
He looked up at his son. Loxus had indeed changed; he had grown up significantly.
"Dad."
"Hmm. You've grown a lot. Got a girl you like?" Roy asked.
"No, not yet..." Loxus answered, a little embarrassed.
"Roy! Your son just got back, and that's the first thing you ask?" Whitey Bay scolded.
"Right, right. Should you cook for him then?" Roy grinned.
Whitey Bay's eyes lit up. She was excited to show off her cooking.
"No! That's okay, Mom!" Loxus started sweating. He remembered once getting food poisoning from her cooking and needing Marco to treat him.
"What, my cooking not good enough?"
"Mom, please-"
"So, what brings you back?" Roy cut in.
"Dad, Mom... I'm just passing through. Jack got into some trouble. I need to go find him and bring him back."
