CHAPTER 54: UNIVERSITY

This revelation was brief and only helped him raise his understanding of the Ordo of Life to 4%.

He opened his eyes again afterward, as he couldn’t push it any further.

He figured it was the effect of having killed for the first time.

Apparently, the connection between life and death was deeper than he had imagined.

"Darling, are we still going to school?" Ivy asked when she saw that Oliver had opened his eyes.

"Yeah, let’s head to school," Oliver replied.

Ivy nodded and continued driving.

They had already gone quite far from the city, but somehow, the trip back always felt shorter.

Before long, they arrived in front of their school, which appeared much busier than usual.

This was not only because all the third-year students had shown up to check which universities had accepted them, but also because the school had just opened registration for new students—many recent Junior High School graduates had come to apply.

They looked very young to Oliver—probably around 15 or 16 years old.

Oliver casually stepped out of Ivy’s car, immediately drawing the attention of many students.

He wasn’t sure how much they knew, but chances were they knew quite a bit. Many of Ivy’s friends already knew about their relationship—and his strength. They had likely talked about it with other students.

Ivy, on the other hand, acted indifferent.

She walked over to Oliver and stopped by his side.

They entered the school and headed to the teachers’ office, where they could get their documents.

Along the way, they were constantly stared at by curious students. Oliver thought he wouldn’t have been able to handle the attention if he were still a normal human. But thankfully, his Will had now reached a different realm, allowing him to remain calm.

Given how they were being stared at, he figured the students must have learned about his strength.

If it were just about being with Ivy—or even their relationship being public—it wouldn’t have caused this level of curiosity.

After all, it was common for students at this school to date one another.

In front of the teachers’ office, a young female teacher was handing out sheets of paper to third-year students.

There were only a few sheets left in her hands, indicating that most students had already picked theirs up. Oliver and Ivy had arrived quite late.

"Whitemoon, Wilson..." the young teacher greeted them.

Knowing why they had come, she handed each of them a sheet of paper.

"Congratulations, Wilson. Every university in the country and even several top institutions abroad have accepted you—and they’re even offering full scholarships. You’re one of the most accomplished students in the school’s history," she said, surprising Oliver.

He looked at Ivy’s paper before his own and saw a long list of universities filling the page—far more than on his.

When he checked his own paper, he was still happy to see that the University of Manchester had accepted him, even though none of the options were particularly prestigious beyond that.

But that had always been his goal from the start.

"Wilson, do you know which university you’ll attend?" the teacher asked Ivy.

She seemed genuinely interested in discussing this with her.

If she were still a regular young woman, it would’ve been something to consider seriously. But Ivy no longer planned to pursue education the way she once had.

Instead of answering, she looked at Oliver as if asking which university he would attend.

"I’ll follow him," Ivy said afterward.

The young teacher could only roll her eyes at the answer.

"I’m going to the University of Manchester..." Oliver told Ivy as he started walking away.

"So you got accepted there. It’s still a top 10 university in the country, and top 50 in the world," Ivy said with a smile.

"Yeah, luckily. Just barely made it," Oliver replied.

In truth, he didn’t rely on academic achievement but on his work experience at a mechanical workshop.

His original plan had been to continue studying so he could become a machinery expert and land a high-paying job.

Even though he was now a Cultivator, he still planned to attend university. At most, he’d just be frequently absent.

"Oliver!" Suddenly, Alex called out.

He appeared in the hallway just as Oliver and Ivy were passing by.

"I’ll go meet my friends first," Ivy said to Oliver.

They couldn’t always be together—they had their own matters to attend to.

Oliver nodded and let her go.

Alex stared at Ivy with obvious desire for a moment before turning his attention back to Oliver.

He wore a mocking expression.

"Looks like you spent the night with her," he said.

"Why not? She’s my girlfriend, and she was the one who wanted to sleep with me," Oliver said, chuckling.

When it came to women, he and Alex had always spoken openly, even about their sexual experiences.

Alex couldn’t hide his jealousy. He looked nearly out of breath.

Unfortunately for him, in conversations about girls, he was often the listener—which usually made his head feel like it might explode.

"Hmph, don’t get cocky just because you’ve got the better face and body—wait, damn, you look even more badass now," Alex said, finally noticing that Oliver didn’t look the same as before.

"Think of it as evolution," Oliver replied.

"But this isn’t why you came to talk to me, is it?" he added.

"Of course not... People somehow found out you’ve become a powerful Cultivator. They’re hoping to see your strength—and maybe get some guidance," Alex said.

"Ohhh..." Oliver had expected as much.

From what he’d heard, only around ten students had successfully awakened. The rest could only hope to become Cultivators.

But it was well known that Cultivators were even rarer than Awakeners, so their chances were slim.

So far, Oliver had only seen Alex succeed aside from himself. Maybe some of Ivy’s friends would follow.

Oliver shook his head in response.

"I don’t think I’m qualified to guide others. I rely on talent and am still full of confusion when it comes to my own cultivation. Even if I’ve grown strong, I’m not at a level where I can teach," he said.

"You don’t actually need to guide them. Just say a few words, maybe share your experience and show off your strength. People are mostly just curious about how strong you are," Alex replied.

"I see. If it’s just showing strength, that’s not hard," Oliver said with a smile. "Alright, help me gather them."

People already knew he had become a Cultivator—he figured it was time to show a bit of his power to solidify his reputation. Otherwise, people might start questioning it.

However, he didn’t plan on showing his Void powers. The fewer people who knew about that, the better.

He’d only display some basic Spiritual Force, like releasing his aura.
