A Cultivator in the World Dominated By Awakeners
Chapter 56: Edward
CHAPTER 56: EDWARD
If a student from a wealthy family treated everyone to a meal, it wasn’t exactly shocking.
It was common—even in their own school, there were times when rich students treated everyone.
Take Alex, for instance. He’d done it once on his birthday.
Of course, a university was a much larger place, and it would take a lot more money to treat everyone. Still, it wasn’t a big deal for the rich—especially if that person came from a family said to control the global economy.
And that’s precisely what shocked Oliver and the others.
Controlling the global economy—there weren’t many families bold enough to make such a claim, even if a few of them were based in the UK, with family members spread across different countries.
No one had expected that they would be in the same class as someone like that.
This one wasn’t just another rich young master.
"Miss Hill, is he also an Awakener or a Cultivator?" one student couldn’t help but ask.
In the end, people were naturally curious about someone who was clearly far above them.
"I heard he’s an Awakener with incredible power..." Nora Hill nodded.
"Someone truly blessed," another student remarked after hearing that.
"It’d be amazing if I could be his girlfriend."
"Hmph, keep dreaming. A guy like that is definitely dating someone from the same class as him."
"Can’t I at least dream about it?"
"..."
As they followed Nora Hill, she continued introducing them to the university—explaining the function of each building, each department, naming professors and their accomplishments, and even listing popular students known for their outstanding performance.
She even told them the names of students who had become Awakeners and Cultivators.
At this university, there were quite a few—over a hundred.
Nora repeatedly warned Oliver and the others never to mess with them. Many were arrogant and considered themselves untouchable by the law.
After a long campus tour, she finally brought them to the cafeteria—an enormous building with four floors.
It offered a wide variety of high-quality meals. Even international dishes could easily be found here.
Today, everything happened to be free, so the cafeteria was packed with students.
But unlike the others, Oliver and Ivy—now strong in their own right—had undergone a shift in perspective.
Free food like this didn’t excite them in the slightest.
They mostly stayed quiet, just listening to the others talk.
To them, this university was nothing more than a temporary stop—a place they might visit occasionally when they were tired.
The other Awakeners and Cultivators attending this university likely felt the same way.
Oliver kept eating, but then something surprised him.
From the faculty office, he saw a woman in her 30s with short, black hair streaked with purple, styled in a wolf cut—an attractive tomboy who turned heads as she walked.
Evylin, his teacher. He hadn’t expected to see her here.
As usual, she was accompanied by Lisa, who followed behind carrying her things.
When she left the faculty office, she was personally seen off by an elderly man whose scalp was completely bald at the front.
Judging by his appearance, he was clearly a professor at the university—but he was showing great respect to Evylin, while she remained indifferent.
Evylin headed straight to the parking lot, which was located not far from the cafeteria.
She clearly wasn’t trying to sense her surroundings, so she didn’t notice Oliver’s presence—or perhaps the campus just wasn’t big enough for Oliver to hide from her.
Naturally, as a good student, he felt the need to go over and greet her.
He tapped Ivy’s thigh as she was eating.
"My teacher’s here. I’m going to say hi," Oliver said before standing up.
Ivy looked slightly surprised, but Oliver had already shared details about his teacher, even showing her a photo. She easily recognized Evylin.
So did Alex, but the other students didn’t seem to know who the woman was as Oliver approached her.
Evylin quickly noticed Oliver’s presence, looking somewhat surprised.
"Master..." Oliver greeted her respectfully.
"Are you registering here?" Evylin asked.
"Yes. I wasn’t sure what you were doing here," Oliver replied.
"Nothing important. Just dishing out a little punishment to a few naughty students with power who’ve been causing trouble. You might end up like them if you start using your power to bully ordinary students here," Evylin said.
Oliver swallowed hard upon hearing that, hardly believing what she’d just said.
"No one can punish the strong—except someone even stronger," Evylin continued. "Alright, I’m heading home. If you need anything, just come to my place."
With that, she resumed walking. But after just a few steps, another young man approached her—about the same age as Oliver, but he looked like he radiated light.
He was extremely handsome, with slightly curly, bright blond hair, and a physique just as impressive as Oliver’s after his body evolution. His fashion was flashier—from his shirt to his shoes, everything looked like expensive designer items that even the wealthy couldn’t easily afford. His watch, in particular, looked like it was made of diamonds.
"Cousin, how are you?" the man greeted Evylin with a smile.
Oliver could only stare in shock at the word he used—cousin. Was this guy royalty?
"Edward," Evylin said his name, furrowing her brows.
Oliver, of course, had never heard of a prince named Edward. Maybe he was her cousin on her mother’s side.
"It’s been a while since we met. How about lunch together? I really want to get some insight from you," Edward said.
"You’re an Awakener. You don’t need guidance from me," Evylin replied.
"But you know more about the Chaotic World than anyone I know."
"Not as much as your imagination thinks. And I’m busy right now. I don’t have time. Maybe next time," Evylin replied, continuing on her way.
She was close to her car now and got into it immediately.
Edward couldn’t say anything more as she drove off.
The man could only sigh, looking visibly disappointed.
But then he turned to Oliver and walked up to him.
"You must be my cousin’s student—the one I’ve heard about recently. I’m Edward Rothschild. My father is the younger brother of Evylin’s mother. We’re from different families, but we’re still close relatives. What’s your name, my friend?" he said.
