A Cutie Spoiled by Her Seven Uncles
Chapter 41: Found the Meat Again
CHAPTER 41: CHAPTER 41: FOUND THE MEAT AGAIN
Huo Xing’Er swiftly interrupted Ji Youyuan. "If it can’t be comprehended, then let’s not dwell on it!" Huo Xing’Er finished speaking and closed her eyes.
Hearing her words, everyone couldn’t help but look at her.
"Second Daughter-in-law..." Madam Ji began.
"Mother!" Huo Xing’Er interjected. "The heavenly auspices already explain everything; the will of heaven is unpredictable!" After saying this, Huo Xing’Er refused to speak further.
"What heavenly secret?" Divine Hunter Ji Youzhi looked completely bewildered, his gaze sweeping over Madam Ji and the others. It took him a moment to react. "Is there an issue with Xiaosuisui’s eight-character birth information? Why is everyone being so mysterious? Wait, heavenly auspices? I remember a child was also born to the second branch of the Li Family that day, right?"
Ji Youyuan and the others stared at him as if he were an idiot.
"Don’t you realize the hour of birth is the most crucial aspect?" one of them retorted.
Ji Youzhi was speechless.
"Alright," Ji Youyuan said, "from now on, no one is to mention the eight-character birth information again. I’ve considered it. If anyone asks, we’ll say Suisui was born a day earlier."
Huo Xing’Er was the first to agree. "That’s what I was thinking too. In the future, Suisui should wear a veil when she goes out, or have her bangs grow long to cover her forehead. Some people have opened their heavenly eyes and can read a person’s fate through their facial features. The most critical areas are the Celestial Court and the eyes."
"Good. From now on, Xing’Er, I’ll entrust Suisui’s affairs to your care," Ji Youyuan said.
Huo Xing’Er chuckled softly. "We’re family. It’s what I should do."
"What about me? What can I do?" Zhu Xiuxiu hurriedly asked.
"Xiuxiu," Huo Xing’Er replied, "you can take her out to play more often. Just ensure she’s safe and let her have fun."
"No problem! I promise to be by the Girl’s side every day. Don’t any of you try to take her from me!" Zhu Xiuxiu declared.
Ji Youyuan then looked at Ji Youbo. "Fourth Brother, you still have much of our family’s unique skill to master. Practice more!"
Ji Youbo’s breath hitched. The shadow weighing on my heart has grown even heavier! he thought despairingly. "The Girl needs a suitable defensive weapon," he then grumbled, his expression sour, though his thoughts were still on Xiaosuisui.
"Sixth Brother will be back soon. He’ll prepare it then," Madam Ji interjected.
Ji Youyuan nodded. "That’s what I was thinking too. For the next few days, Suisui will study with me. Xing’Er, I’ll be relying on you for her training in the Celestial Observation Technique."
Huo Xing’Er remained silent. Whether I put in the effort or not, it hardly matters, she thought. In this world, how many people could possess the Girl’s level of aptitude? She grasps things innately, without even realizing it, as if certain knowledge is etched into her very soul. A single glance, a single lesson, and it’s as if something dormant within her bones and blood awakens.
"Hey! Looks like there’s nothing for me to do," Ji Youzhi chimed in. "I’m running around all day, so I can’t look after her even if I wanted to. How about this: from now on, when I’m out capturing criminals, I’ll bring back nice things for the Girl."
Ji Youzhi realized his eldest brother hadn’t assigned him any tasks. He wasn’t sure if he felt relieved or disappointed, just a strange sensation in his heart. Oh well, he thought, I’m busy chasing criminals every day, and it’s dangerous work. It’s probably for the best that the Girl doesn’t have to rely on me. As he thought this, he felt Huo Xing’Er’s meaningful gaze land on him.
A shiver ran down Ji Youzhi’s spine. He quickly made an excuse, "I’m quite tired from the journey back these past few days. If there’s nothing for me, I’ll go rest first."
Xiaosuisui had no idea that her uncles, aunts, and grandmother were in the room, meticulously planning her future.
At that moment, she had just dug up a few more earthworms from the base of a wall. Clutching them excitedly in her hand, she wandered around the Courtyard, searching for Xiaobai. "Xiaobai! Xiaobai, come out quickly!" Xiaosuisui called out. "I found more meat! Hurry, come here, and I’ll feed you!"
