A Favor Done, A Husband Won
Chapter 184: Make Him Shut Up
CHAPTER 184: CHAPTER 184: MAKE HIM SHUT UP
Seeing that the person’s neck was about to be sliced open by the edge of the car window, those who had retreated screamed in terror.
It’s over, it’s over. Someone’s going to die! Isn’t cutting the throat life-threatening?
In the nick of time, someone forcefully pulled Shi Su back, yanking her away, barely saving that person’s neck and life.
Shi Su was caught off guard and stumbled backward, thinking that the person in the car had help. She swung her bag backward with force, attempting to regain balance, but when she turned around, her movement was too vigorous. The moment the person snatched her hand, she almost fell over again, but he caught her and heavily pulled her into his arms.
Shi Su glared fiercely at the person inside the car, who was still clutching their throat with a terrified expression. She angrily turned her gaze, but suddenly paused, as if a bucket of cold water had cleared her nearly irrational demeanor just moments ago.
Jing Jihan held her with one hand while gripping her wrist with the other, lifting it up to examine the female warrior from just moments ago, whose wrist was riddled with scrapes from shattered glass. The coldness in his eyes was as if he could freeze the blood on Su’s skin and inside her body in that instant.
Even though the man’s eyes at this moment were dark clouds ready to burst into a storm, upon seeing Shi Su’s current expression, he only managed to say, "Don’t act impulsively. No one benefits from causing a death."
Shi Su took a deep breath, her voice a bit hoarse when she spoke: "He took photos of Mianmian."
Jing Jihan still held her hand, lightly patting it in a soothing gesture: "Leave it to me."
She knew very well what she was doing earlier.
Though it didn’t come to fruition.
Shi Su didn’t struggle now, quietly allowing Jing Jihan to lead her to the car she drove, opening the door for her to sit inside first to avoid more people photographing her.
As Jing Jihan helped close the car door from the outside, he cast a chilling glance towards the person in the second-hand car, who held a camera with a terrified expression.
The person inside the second-hand Jetta, having barely escaped with his life, now felt inexplicably cold all over. Even though he had just survived, the man’s gaze felt like a haunting stare of death, making him more frightened than before.
Lu Zhao’s car arrived quickly, along with two police cars—one called by passersby, the other by Wen Ke.
Although no murder had occurred here, the area was quickly cordoned off and all onlookers dispersed.
Upon arriving at the scene, Wen Ke first spotted Jing Jihan, his gaze slightly surprised. He then glimpsed Shi Su inside the car, quickly approached, opened the car door, and upon seeing the injury on Shi Su’s wrist, immediately asked: "How did you get hurt? Is it serious?"
"It’s nothing, just scratched by glass shards." Shi Su hid her hand behind her.
Both of them heard Jing Jihan instructing the person who alighted from another police car: "Take this person away, and all the items he holds, Lu Zhao, have the company’s legal counsel come over."
Lu Zhao nodded.
After all, Shi Su had initially assaulted someone. Although it didn’t result in serious harm, the guy in the second-hand Jetta might want to press charges, impacting Shi Su’s reputation. Having a lawyer present would help defend her case promptly, ensuring things don’t spiral out of control, making it reasonable to bail Shi Su out at the police station later.
Shi Su didn’t hear what Jing Jihan said to the police officers next to him in a subdued tone, as he was standing with his back to her direction, blocking most of her view. She could only see Lu Zhao standing beside him with a serious expression.
Then it seemed she heard Jing Jihan say: "Make him shut up."
Lu Zhao responded: "Understood."
...
Jiang City Central Hospital.
Shi Su was led upstairs by the doctor to have her wrist wounds bandaged.
Wen Ke, in a police uniform, stood in the quiet examination room, glancing at the figure standing by the window, remained silent for a long time before speaking: "Mr. Jing."
Jing Jihan looked back at her faintly: "No wonder Qin Zhifeng has been paying such close attention to domestic affairs lately; it has indeed to do with you."
Upon hearing ’Qin Zhifeng’, Wen Ke’s expression remained unchanged: "I am sorry, I am no longer part of the FBI Federal Bureau of Investigation, and have also severed ties with Mr. Qin. Having broken away from the past constraints, I similarly cannot serve Mr. Jing you anymore. As for irrelevant topics, I hope they can stop at that."
Jing Jihan didn’t delve further, as if none of the previous topics had been discussed, picking up the bottle of external anti-inflammatory medication the doctor had prescribed to Shi Su on the table, speaking indifferently: "Shi Su and you, what relationship is there?"
"Friends."
There was suddenly chatter amongst nurses outside the examination room—
"My god, something big happened downstairs!"
"What happened?"
"Heard the one who just came for bandaging is none other than the popular female celebrity Shi Su; something seemed to have happened over by Zhongda Road, captured by passersby and uploaded online. Some fans of Tong Yuanyuan have connected the dots and know she’s in the hospital now. Many fans are coming to the hospital, throwing things at the entrance, demanding an explanation from Shi Su!"
Upon hearing this, Wen Ke quickly turned to look outside.
The nurses continued their gossip outside the door: "Isn’t Shi Su upstairs getting bandaged?"
"She went up to bandage, but heard fans were coming to intercept her; before her hand was fully treated, she suddenly went downstairs!"
"Good lord, she’d probably get stopped downstairs..."
Wen Ke turned, looking at Jing Jihan.
Only to see Jing Jihan, without expression, put down the bottle of anti-inflammatory medicine in his hand, and swiftly walk out of the examination room—
-
Shi Su received a call from Jun downstairs, urging her not to go down. She mentioned that fans of Tong Yuanyuan had arrived, probably around five or six.
She had just come from the police station and then to the hospital for bandaging.
Jun had roughly understood the course of events, and had already arrived at the hospital, spotting those few fans standing at the entrance from afar.
"They’re here just to make trouble, you should stay upstairs in the hospital; I’ll call the hospital security to deal with them."
Yet, unexpectedly, Shi Su did not resume her bandaging after hanging up the call, but instead, with her arms still covered in injuries, she directly went downstairs and walked out of the hospital.
As soon as she stepped out, sure enough, she got stopped.
Five or six young girls, some tall, some short, some fat and some slim, holding various ugly photos of Shi Su online, with bold red text [Shi Su get out of the entertainment industry], aggressively surrounded her.
"Shameless! Getting a spokesperson role and then flitting around like a socialite. Our Yuanyuan works so hard; why are you flaunting yourself shamelessly in front of her? Is it because she’s new in the industry and doesn’t have many fans?"
"Don’t think people don’t know which sugar daddy or patron you slept with to become the spokesperson for Tilans? What are you pretending for? You’re even a home-wrecking mistress! Shameless!"
Facing the jabbering from the few young girls, Shi Su glanced at the hospital security rushing over from afar, raised her hand to signal them to hold off coming over.
Lowering her hand, she chuckled lightly: "So, what exactly do you intend to do by coming here?"
