A Favor Done, A Husband Won
Chapter 225 - 223: She Really Did Get Out of Mr. Jing’s Car
CHAPTER 225: CHAPTER 223: SHE REALLY DID GET OUT OF MR. JING’S CAR
Shi Su suddenly lifted her eyes, not yet looking at the two young actresses at the next table who were shooting off their mouths fearlessly, and abruptly met Jun’s gaze.
Jun looked at Shi Su with a meaningful glance for a while, then served herself a bowl of soup with a leisurely demeanor, sighed with a touch of reflection, and said, "Ah, youth is wonderful, I should nourish myself more diligently too."
Shi Su: "..."
Chu Jiu, sitting beside her and apparently understanding some of it, remained silent but blushed a bit suspiciously, swiftly grabbing a bowl and silently serving herself soup as well.
Shi Su: "........"
What are you two thinking?
The topic at the next table with those two actresses had already thoroughly shifted to Mr. Jing’s stamina and endurance as a domineering CEO.
Jun and Chu Jiu’s looks at Shi Su grew increasingly suggestive.
Shi Su "clanked" the cutlery down.
This meal is unbearable!
On the way back to the room from the restaurant, Shi Su deliberately glanced at the mirrored walls of the elevator, confirming that her collar was tightly fastened, instinctively raising her hand to press her neck, fearing the visible trace of that kiss mark.
In the afternoon while showering in room 8806, she had noticed it; that man didn’t hold back at all, the kiss marks wouldn’t fade in just a day or two.
Luckily the weather was cold, wearing high-neck clothes wouldn’t lead to any speculation.
Jun suspiciously glanced at Shi Su’s neck as she entered the elevator: "Did your neck get hurt? Uncomfortable?"
Shi Su quickly lowered her hand: "No."
Back in the room, Shi Su was studying the script for tomorrow when room service staff knocked and entered to deliver fruit.
Outside, two other room service personnel were cleaning, with room 8805’s door opened and no one inside.
Shi Su swept her gaze across to the opposite room, recalling the discussion she overheard in the restaurant; tomorrow, those Jiang City leaders would all be heading to the east of Z City, presumably not staying at Junkai Hotel any longer.
-
The next day, on set.
The makeup artist carefully applied a waterproof bandage matching her skin tone on Shi Su’s forehead, layered it with foundation, and styled a natural airy fringe to ensure the forehead injury was undetectable.
Today’s scenes required wearing autumn-winter clothes, with long sleeves concealing the arm injuries.
Shi Su seemed completely unaffected by the previous day’s events, still handling the set with ease, the shooting going smoothly.
Tong Yuanyuan had quieted down quite a bit these past two days but frequently stole peculiar glances in Shi Su’s direction. When Shi Su returned her gaze, Tong Yuanyuan turned away as if nothing had happened.
Shi Su had just finished a scene and returned to her car when a fellow actress standing by Tong Yuanyuan softly remarked, "I really didn’t see wrongly; yesterday afternoon, Shi Su did get out of Mr. Jing’s car."
Tong Yuanyuan said nothing, appearing thoughtful.
Her assistant saw it too yesterday; at the time, she didn’t quite believe it, always feeling that Mr. Jing and Shi Su’s encounter at the resort was purely coincidental, unlikely to spark any romance, especially since Jing Jihan was known to be always cold towards women. That day, he merely taught her golf.
Yet how come, after Shi Su’s incident, it was Jing Jihan who brought her back?
Only last night did she discover that Mr. Jing was staying on the eighth floor at Junkai, directly opposite Shi Su.
Knowing now is too late; today they’ve left Junkai and headed to the east of Z City.
Originally, Tong Yuanyuan thought she was the most connected person in this drama, confident the staff would inevitably favor and support her.
But if Shi Su had gotten close to Mr. Jing, with such powerful backing, there was no way she’d have room to assert herself within this group; even in the industry, she would likely have to yield before Shi Su.
That incident didn’t let Shi Su suffer any real loss, yet resulted in many of her own fans leaving, her support group barely keeping help to retain fans, but several key foundational fan clubs did disband, which is quite a loss for a young idol.
She hadn’t managed to make Shi Su properly experience the consequences of offending her, and now Shi Su seemed ready to surpass her?

The Z City east area’s latest project planning hall is located on the tenth floor of Huaxin Building.
The Jiang City Construction Bureau’s investment in projects here was intercepted by Z City’s local planning hall, prepared to heavily invest for development; the second phase in the east also plans to construct an overpass to ease Z City’s traffic situation. However, the funding budget for the overpass construction in the second phase in the east faced major financial gaps due to the financial status within their planning hall, leaving it too short to fill. Seeing themselves being overtaken by the Jiang City Construction Bureau who were stationed in Z City these days, they were attempting to divert Jiang City’s attention while inviting representatives from the Yu Jing Group over, to discuss these matters.
Recently, as if Mr. Hao from Jiang City Construction Bureau was fixated on Jing Jihan, unable to be shaken off, even making it to the east along with the invited guests; evidently, he feared Yu Jing Group would easily align with the Z City Planning Hall instead.
Near Huaxin Building, there is a five-star hotel completed just two months ago, not yet officially open to the public, boasting a clean and elegant environment.
Zhou He followed Jing Jihan out of the elevator, speaking: "The investment for Z City’s east side second phase was originally left from Jing Yuanbin’s time; the project hadn’t started then, and now they plan to take the contract over transferring five billion dollars to fill the gap, but compared to the Jiang City Construction Bureau’s planning scheme, the eastern second phase project isn’t suitable for development now. Even if they successfully secure this investment via the contract, the project cannot proceed smoothly; there’s personnel issues across layers below."
Before heading back to his room, Jing Jihan glanced at the time and turned back to Zhou He: "The Construction Bureau’s scheme is not the optimal solution either; it’s outside consideration."
Zhou He nodded.
Indeed.
There’s nothing worth investing in on either side, Mr. Jing wasn’t initially interested; both sides’ shortcomings are significant, neither offers a point worth considering or observing.
Yet now both Z City Planning Hall and Jiang City Construction Bureau are apparently trying to retain Mr. Jing, each still attempting varied methods behind the scenes; Yu Jing Group’s investment seems to be the prize in their silent battle, despite outward courtesy and smiles, behind lie unprecedented battlegrounds.
Yu Jing Group poses influence akin to moving the entire industry’s interests by one step; in their eyes, if Yu Jing Group joins the opposing camp, then in this fierce contest, whichever side loses Yu Jing Group will undoubtedly fail.
However, they don’t understand what Mr. Jing truly desires, instead using aimless official tactics to flatter and fawn, without actual beneficial feedback; in Mr. Jing’s perspective, there’s no talk of "cooperation" in this hollow engagement.
