A Favor Done, A Husband Won
Chapter 67: She Didn’t Cause Trouble After All
CHAPTER 67: CHAPTER 67: SHE DIDN’T CAUSE TROUBLE AFTER ALL
The scene to be filmed the next day involves rain; it’s another heartfelt mix of laughter and tears.
Shi Su quickly gets into character, but it also makes it hard for her to shake off the scene afterward.
It’s common for actors to struggle with detaching from such emotionally intense scenes, and Mr. Chen asked everyone not to disturb her. Today, Shi Yunyin is supposed to drop by in the afternoon to film a few scenes, so they have to rush to the neighboring studio to prepare.
Almost everyone left, except for Shi Su, who was soaked through and miserably sitting on the ground. Chu Jiu draped a thin blanket over her shoulders, crouched beside her, and quietly said, "Shi Su, you made me cry watching this scene. Enduring so many tragic events—misunderstood by your sect, abandoned by the world, forgotten by your lover—if Tian Yuli doesn’t embrace darkness, it would be surprising! I absolutely can’t wait for Tian Yuli to be consumed by darkness!"
Shi Su was silent for quite a while before lifting her head to look around, realizing she was alone.
She stood up, "Who did they say is coming to shoot this afternoon?"
"Shi Yunyin." Chu Jiu glanced around and whispered, "Apparently, she squeezed in some time to catch-up scenes, so it wasn’t listed on the notice. Now everyone has rushed to the neighboring studio to spend the afternoon filming her scenes."
As he mentioned this, Chu Jiu muttered again in a low voice, "Originally, there were several scenes planned for you this afternoon, Shi Su, and you’ve memorized the scripts. Now it’s unclear when they’ll be delayed to."
Despite being engrossed in her role, the mention of Shi Yunyin was enough to make Shi Su snap to attention.
She tightened the thin blanket around her, roughly wiped the wet hair from her forehead, and headed towards the makeup room.
In the makeup room, everyone was already energized by Shi Yunyin’s arrival today, eagerly anticipating the moment Shi Yunyin would confront Shi Su.
Listening to the door opening unexpectedly and seeing Shi Su entering in a disheveled state, seemingly out of sorts, they exchanged discreet glances.
Surely it’s because Shi Yunyin’s here; look at her expression, she seems out of sorts.
-
Shi Yunyin arrived quickly; as soon as the director’s team finished setting up, she was there.
She arrived in a hurry without her personal makeup artist, so she had to use the shared makeup room, although she could go straight to the VIP room at the back.
To reach the VIP room, one must pass through the main makeup area. As soon as Shi Yunyin entered, all eyes turned toward her.
Shi Yunyin didn’t spare a glance for anyone, seemingly not noticing Shi Su sitting in front, removing her makeup, as she walked straight into the room.
She actually didn’t bother with Shi Su?
The crowd was stunned.
Just when everyone assumed Shi Yunyin was too disdainful to bother with a minor character like Shi Su, suddenly the door to the VIP room opened.
Shi Yunyin’s assistant Lisa stepped out, saying, "Today’s filming is rushed, so we need to speed up makeup time, and we’re short-handed inside. Anyone available, please lend a hand."
Being able to style for Shi Yunyin, a famous film star, would be a notable accolade in the industry, causing a flurry of makeup artists to approach eagerly.
Shi Su still had wet hair and hadn’t changed her clothes, intending to remove her makeup first and then change. The makeup artist was in the process of removing intricate classical hairpieces from her head.
Suddenly, Lisa walked over as if she didn’t see Shi Su, glancing past her at the makeup artist behind her, saying, "You, come with me inside."
