CHAPTER 76: CHAPTER 76: REMEMBER TO CHOOSE A DIFFERENT COLOR NEXT TIME
Until he retrieved his arm holding the shampoo, Shi Su remained stiffly standing straight, her gaze falling on the shampoo in his hand. All words were relying on brain instinct: "Yes, that’s it..."
Jing Jihan’s dark eyes focused on her, noticing her effort to keep a calm face though her ears had quietly turned red, his indifferent tone carried a subtle playfulness: "How much do you need?"
Shi Su was surprised: "You don’t know how to use shampoo, do you?"
Jing Jihan replied calmly: "Is the amount of your hair and my hair the same?"
It was only because of his words that Shi Su finally lifted her gaze which she had been avoiding, her eyes glancing at the man’s neat black short hair. Inevitably, her gaze swept over his eyes but quickly averted, staring straight ahead—at the fabric on his chest.
Indeed, her hair was almost waist-length because she hadn’t cut it for a long time due to filming period dramas.
"Why don’t I do it myself, you just help me rinse?" She reached out to take the shampoo from his hand.
The man didn’t give it to her, his hand slightly avoided hers just in time for her hand to touch his arm, also wet from the water. She inexplicably felt a jolt and quickly retracted her hand, resuming her stiff, upright posture facing him.
She couldn’t raise her head, standing straight yet feeling like every pore was trying to curl up involuntarily. Normally confident and straightforward, now awkward as if she were an inexperienced girl, entirely unlike a mother with a four-year-old child.
Feeling his hand as he applied some shampoo proportionate to her long hair on top of her head, Shi Su initially thought it wouldn’t be a problem to let him help rinse without taking off her clothes.
Now with his palm on her head, his distinctly jointed fingers ran through her wet hair, she realized how naive her thought had been.
The air was silent. An inexplicable feeling made breathing cautious. The cramped bathroom further amplified the discomfort.
Shi Su closed her eyes, just waiting for him to finish washing her hair quickly.
Time passed slowly, his actions neither fast nor slow, but indeed he washed her hair comfortably.
Finally unable to contain it, Shi Su bit her lip, suddenly speaking with closed eyes and an earnest frown: "Ji Han, I need to remind you, right now my neck cannot move, so I asked you for help. Don’t misinterpret it as anything more."
After saying this, she felt it should serve as a reminder and explanation.
After all, regardless of what kind of person Ji Han is, first, he is a man. Asking for help washing her... oops not washing her, getting help washing her hair would undoubtedly seem ambiguous, but she really had no such idea; she must clarify to avoid misunderstanding!
But after saying this, the man remained silent for a while.
Slowly, Shi Su opened her eyes, squinting first, seeing the man standing directly in front of her, still very close. She paused, her eyes gradually widening, then unexpectedly, he suddenly took a step forward.
Shi Su: "?"
Instinctively backing up, she was forced against the wall, her face stiff as she began to regret her current immobility.
If this man decided to take advantage of her vulnerability right now and really had sinister intentions...
...what was she thinking?
Shi Su was still in a daze when she heard his low, seemingly amused voice above: "What extra thoughts?"
Shi Su suddenly snapped back, seeing the man’s eyes gradually gathering traces of a smile. In her memory, he rarely smiled, especially not distinctly like this.
Suddenly, unbeknownst to her when the showerhead returned to his hand, he directly turned it on, water pouring down on her head—
"Pfft—" Shi Su was caught off guard by the water, quickly closed her eyes, and while spitting water spraying furiously, she yelled angrily: "Ji Han! Just you wait! Pfft...cough cough..."
Unfazed, the man turned the shower to the maximum, water pouring down on her head as she leaned against the wall, afraid to turn her neck, forcing her to keep her eyes tightly shut while struggling to hold her breath as she continued to spit, her hand flailing helplessly unable to mount a proper defense.
Only when the shampoo was thoroughly rinsed off her head, Jing Jihan handed the showerhead to Shi Su, still drenched and leaning against the wall in confusion.
Before turning away, his gaze swept over her unnoticed as he said something indecipherable yet faintly hoarse: "Next time wear clothes in the shower, remember to change the color."
Shi Su still hadn’t come to her senses, only until the man’s silhouette disappeared from the bathroom did she cluelessly glance outside.
What color was her clothing?
Seemingly she had been wearing the same since last night, idled today without noticing, without constantly looking down she hadn’t noticed the color either.
Shi Su reached out to feel around on herself, lifting the hem of her nightdress to a visible height...
White.
Raising it revealed her fingers clearly through the wet skirt.
She had several nightdresses in pure black, goose yellow, light green, sky blue, pale pink, and indigo.
Only one was white.
And now, it was on her.
Shi Su: "..."
Help, maybe this old building isn’t very solid, could it split open a crack for her to crawl into!

"Ji Han Uncle, what’s wrong with Mommy?" Shi Mianmian sat on the sofa, seeing Shi Su come out of the master bedroom looking gloomy after her bath, ignoring everyone and heading straight to the children’s room. Mianmian felt Mommy’s expression was terrifying.
Jing Jihan glanced at the children’s room door which slammed shut with a "bang."
Mianmian keenly sensed Mommy seemed in a bad mood, quickly hugged Jing Jihan’s leg, saying: "Mommy seems like she wants to eat someone, Uncle, can I sleep with you tonight?"
Jing Jihan pointed his chin toward the children’s room: "She’ll agree?"
Mianmian still clung tightly to his leg: "Mommy’s really scary tonight, anyway, I don’t want to sleep with Mommy, I want to go to Ji Han Uncle’s room!"
Saying so, she raised her little head, pleading with him with pouty lips: "Uncle, I’ll tell you bedtime stories; I’m really good at storytelling. Do you want to hear Princess Elsa’s story? I’ll tell you a story, please let me sleep over..."
Jing Jihan looked down at Shi Mianmian’s miniature version of Shi Su trying to win with cuteness, blinked big eyes pleadingly as he patted her little head: "Go ahead."
"Yay!" Mianmian happily jumped up, quickly picked up the smart doll from the sofa, and gleefully ran to the master bedroom.
