CHAPTER 19: CHAPTER 19: HE MUST BE BORN IN THE YEAR OF THE DOG!

Jiang Jingheng was wearing a bathrobe, with water droplets on the tips of his hair, clearly just out of the shower.

He had a tall and upright figure, with features that were rarely so exquisitely handsome, even in pajamas, he exuded a lazy kind of charm.

However, Mu Yan was too preoccupied to admire him.

Wasn’t he at that club? Why did he suddenly come back, and why is he here before her?

Mu Yan looked at Jiang Jingheng with a strange expression. With a beauty like Zhou Lifen accompanying him for a lovely evening, he was willing to come back?

"Why are you standing at the door?" Jiang Jingheng’s voice suddenly rang out, "Could it be that you’re too surprised to see me back home?"

Mu Yan snapped back to reality, her mouth twitching. Surprised, yes, happy, no.

After all, starting today, she has to begin living with a stranger, which is definitely a challenge for her!

But some things have to be faced.

Just think of it as staying in a dormitory during her school days, albeit a much more luxurious one.

She grabbed her bag and walked inside.

Jiang Jingheng sat at the head of the dining table, where there was a steaming late-night snack laid out.

"Did you have dinner?" he asked.

"I’ve eaten," Mu Yan replied, pausing before saying, "I’ll head upstairs first."

"No rush, have some late-night snack first!" Jiang Jingheng picked up his chopsticks and said casually.

Mu Yan was a bit speechless; was there a need to ask if she’d eaten? He could’ve just told her to eat.

"Sit down!" Jiang Jingheng said again.

"I’m really not hungry," Mu Yan said. She just wanted to take a hot shower and then get some sleep now.

"But I’m hungry," Jiang Jingheng said.

Mu Yan,"..."

If you’re hungry, eat. How could I possibly eat on your behalf?

Jiang Jingheng seemed to know what she was thinking, looked up at her, and smiled, "As a wife, shouldn’t you accompany your husband who works hard outside to support the family, and finally comes home, to have some late-night snack?"

Mu Yan was even more speechless. Turning his indulgence into supporting the family, his face was thicker than a wall.

Seeing she didn’t speak, Jiang Jingheng frowned slightly, "Mrs. Jiang, are you upset that I left without saying goodbye that day?"

Mu Yan said with a forced smile, "Of course not."

That’s all the more absurd, where he goes is his choice.

Jiang Jingheng sighed, "I didn’t tell you because I feared hearing your voice would make me reluctant to leave."

Mu Yan chuckled, is he entering drama queen mode, talking nonsense.

Jiang Jingheng seemed not to expect a response from Mu Yan and said, "Sit down and eat, then rest early."

Mu Yan knew she couldn’t avoid it, so she didn’t refuse any longer.

As soon as she sat down, she heard Jiang Jingheng ask, "Am I a beast?"

"Hmm?" Mu Yan looked up at him blankly; she couldn’t grasp his point at all.

Jiang Jingheng lightly tapped his bowl with his chopsticks, looking puzzled, "Why are you sitting so far away from me? I thought you’d sit next to me, serve me some dishes, and chat with me."

Mu Yan looked at him with a "What an idiot" expression; wasn’t his acting a bit over the top?

The two of them had known each other for less than two days, it would be strange if she was really attentive to him.

However, his claim of being a beast wasn’t entirely incorrect.

After they got their marriage certificate and went home to shower, she noticed bite marks all over her body; he must be part dog!

Mu Yan couldn’t be bothered with him and focused on eating her late-night snack.

If she didn’t eat, it was fine, but once she did, she realized she was actually quite hungry.

Jiang Jingheng only spoke a few words initially and then stopped speaking altogether.
