CHAPTER 49: CHAPTER 49 SHE WILL SURPASS HER SOONER OR LATER

Zhou Lifen thought Mu Yan had listened to her.

She softened her voice, "Mu Yan, it was my fault in the past. Considering how well I’ve treated you, you should have vented your anger enough by now. Come back. I’ll continue to pay for your brother’s medical expenses, and I won’t force you in the future."

Mu Yan snapped back to reality, feeling a bit disgusted by her hypocritical appearance.

At this point, she still wanted to deceive her; did she take her for a fool?

She said with a half-smile, "Sister Zhou, are you compromising because you’re afraid I’ll surpass you?"

"How could you think that of me?" Zhou Lifen frowned.

"It’s not what I think; it’s who you are. I heard you say it with my own ears."

Mu Yan’s voice was slightly cold, "You said you were hospitalized with a stomach bleed for my sake. But the truth is, you intended to seize the opportunity to get close to Young Master Jiang. Too bad he looked down on you, didn’t that hurt?"

Zhou Lifen had never been rebuked like this, her face turned livid with anger.

She stood up and walked over, raising her hand to slap.

Mu Yan was already prepared, raising her hand to grab her wrist, stopping her action.

Her gaze was as cold as ice, "This is a film set. If you don’t want to make headlines for hitting someone, you’d better quiet down. I don’t mind blowing things up."

Zhou Lifen was furious, shaking off Mu Yan’s hand with a grim face, her eyes full of resentment, "Mu Yan, very well, I’ll make you regret crossing me."

She stormed out, and the door slammed shut with a "bang."

Mu Yan flexed her wrist, feeling quite satisfied.

She changed her clothes and left the set.

After Zhou Lifen went out, she immediately called Chen Fang.

"Check who Mu Yan has been in contact with recently. That little wench has now entered my crew, acting arrogant and overbearing."

As she spoke, she became more incensed, her voice raising a few notches, attracting a lot of attention.

Mu Yan returned to the hotel with Luo Yao, and soon Song Cheng’an came back.

In the room, Song Cheng’an sat on the sofa and asked her, "You weren’t bullied, right?"

"No, but I did manage to infuriate Zhou Lifen." Mu Yan smiled.

Song Cheng’an nodded, "Alright then, I won’t stay with you in this crew. Luo Yao can stick with you. I have some things to do in Upper City, I’m leaving tomorrow."

"Okay."

Mu Yan read the script all night and only woke up around noon the next day.

Her scene was in the evening, so she didn’t have to go during the day.

In the afternoon, she went to the set with Luo Yao.

As soon as she entered the makeup room, Zhou Lifen was coming out.

Zhou Lifen sneered upon seeing her, "Acting like a diva on the first day in the crew, impressive."

Mu Yan said calmly, "My scene is in the evening, but Sister Zhou’s is during the day. Yet, it seems like Sister Zhou has also just arrived."

"You..." Zhou Lifen glared at her, gave a cold snort, and walked out.

Luo Yao looked at Zhou Lifen’s back, frowning slightly, "Why is this Zhou Lifen so annoying?"

Mu Yan glanced at her, "Speak less."

"Okay." Luo Yao nodded.

Mu Yan finished her makeup and went over to Director Li.

Director Li looked at the time and said, "You’re a bit early, your scene is at around seven or eight tonight."

"It’s okay, I’m here to learn." Mu Yan responded.

Director Li smiled, "God doesn’t shortchange those who work hard."

"Mm." Mu Yan nodded.

Her gaze fixed on Zhou Lifen’s demeanor on the monitor; although the person wasn’t great, the acting was quite good.

However, she would eventually surpass her.
