I myself was long gone from the the city after killing Surge as I knew I was on a deadline to get the rest of Rocket as well. Surge's death no doubt spooked the others and that meant I needed to move fast or possibly miss my window to act. My next target was Gym leader Sabrina in Saffron city at the heart of the region. The city was the home of the Silph corporation that was the rival of the Devon corporation here in Kanto and Johto. This meant the place was as bustling as one would expect. Ironically this also worked against Sabrina who was a renowned psychic user.-

All those minds meant that finding a single one was not a simple matter at all. Not that it mattered anyways as I fully planned to cloak myself in dark type energy to slip through her psychic perception to begin with. Sabrina was an oddity to me personally as out of all those who I had confirmed were part of rocket she had no reason for it. Surge was a military control freak and served under Giovanni in the war. Koga's clan was fading into obscurity as the time of ninjas was long since over and he wanted glory for his clan.-

Giovanni was simply just ambitious to the extreme and wanted to take over the world. A very bland villain goal true but also a lofty one as well. Sabrina however had no reason why she would need to be a part of rocket. She is from a well respected clan of renowned psychic users, she's incredibly wealthy. She is objectively adored by many despite how cold she comes across and she had a good childhood to my knowledge. -

All the normal points that would lead to someone willing joining an organization like rocket were covered already. There was the possibility of her being innately malicious in nature as well but to my knowledge that was also not true as if anything she was an introvert who simply preferred being alone. Whatever the case I suppose it didn't really matter as her life was coming to it's end at my hands for her part in rockets works. I warped space to send me far up into the sky after killing Surge and without missing a beat continued to warp space as I crossed the sky one step at a time until I saw Saffron city below.-

I allowed myself to drop from the sky once there as wind whipped across my face and the ground rapidly rose up to meet me. There was some screams from the random people that were on the street and were watching me fall seemingly to my death. Their jaws dropped when I flipped in mid air and used a surge of flying type energy to stop my fall and land on my feet with barely a whisper.-

Nobody had enough time to react as I stepped casually into the shadowy alleyway next to my landing site and vanished from view. I shadow warped across the city until I found the gym and to my surprise found no hidden base under it unlike Surges gym. What you saw was what you got which brought up the annoying question of where the rocket scum were holed up exactly. I couldn't exactly stick to Sabrina's shadow to find it either as due to her being both a psychic type trainer and a psychic herself she could teleport. Unlike my way of doing it a psychics teleportation was using the energy to effectively swap position with the air of their destination.-

This was the reason there was a burst of air whenever one of them did it as the mere act caused a noticeable disturbance in the air currents. My version was simply making my current position a different one via spatial folding, thus no disturbance. In a matter of speaking it was like taking a piece of paper and folding on corner over the other before stepping off the first corner to the second. It was a seamless transition and took much less energy than forcing your way through like what psychics did.-

Regardless of the mechanics however the fact remained that hitching a ride in Sabrina's shadow simply wouldn't work to find the base for her branch of rocket as her shadow doesn't come with her when she teleports. Admittedly I could probably use my spatial manipulation skill to forcefully rip open the passage her teleportation created but doing so was NOT subtle at all. Unless I wanted to go straight for the slaughter when I arrived without gathering evidence first this was not a good option at all.-

'I'll need to search the city as I doubt the base is located outside it.' I thought slightly annoyed at this delay. Still I moved from one shadow to the next while searching for any underground shadows in a large area. Saffron city itself was a massive place however with many buildings of both traditional make and modern as well. In it's heart stood the gigantic mirror like tower of the silph corporations headquarters. Interestingly the streets of the city were not a solid cement like you would expect but rather a brick one with cement poured through the cracks giving the whole thing a eye-catching aesthetic.-

None noticed the flickers of shadows growing abnormally dark as I moved through the city on my hunt until finally I found what I was after. 'Cheeky bitch.' I thought as I observed the building that the base was located on top of. The Saffron city police building. Sabrina had placed her branch of rocket in the one spot most people would assume the group would avoid the most. The trick here was that it wasn't connected to the police building at all but a good bit below it instead. If I had to guess I'd say it was dug under quietly before being fully set up.-

I slipped through my current shadow and into one in this base and immediately saw the sight of uniformed grunts scrambling about the place as they talked about my sudden appearance in the city. From the conversations it was clear most of these scum were VERY concerned that this branch was going to suffer the fate of Surges branch, very justified concerns considering where I was currently.
