A second chance with my billionaire husband
Chapter 36 - 033 Unable to give birth
CHAPTER 36: 033 UNABLE TO GIVE BIRTH
Today, she was wearing a white dress and white sneakers, looking very fresh and charming—a stark contrast to her usual sexy style, which was eye-catching.
Carrying two boxes of health supplements in her hands, she said with a sweet smile, "Aunt Yun, these are health products I asked a friend to buy from abroad. They’re sold out overseas, but I managed to get them. Not only do they prolong life, but they also beautify and nourish the skin."
Yun Shu smiled and nodded, "You’re thoughtful."
She turned her head and glared at Aunt Yun, "Jinse is carrying a child, why did you let her carry these things?"
"It’s not Aunt Yun’s fault, I wanted to bring them in myself. I’m quite healthy, Aunt Yun, don’t worry," Kang Jinse said, smiling as she came to Aunt Yun’s defense.
Yun Ya silently watched all of this unfold.
She had anticipated today’s events, but watching them still caused her some pain.
She was too young, too powerless, watching helplessly as these people walked into her life, incapable of doing anything. Out of self-preservation, she even had to ingratiate herself with the wicked and put on a brave face.
It seemed like Kang Jinse just noticed Yun Ya and said with a light laugh, "Yun Ya, Auntie is here again. Are you happy to see me?"
A touch of coldness flickered quickly through her eyes, "You little brat, let’s see how I deal with you this time."
Yun Ya lifted her head with a sweet smile, "Aunt Jiang, I thought I might never see you again. I’m glad you’re here, I can’t bear to part with you either."
Kang Jinse sneered inwardly, miss her? She didn’t believe that for a second. At such a young age, the girl had a natural talent for telling lies with her eyes wide open. It seemed Ji Lanyi had taught her daughter well, deceiving a crowd of adults with ease.
Yun Shu looked at the two of them and suddenly took Kang Jinse’s hand, "Have you eaten yet?"
Kang Jinse’s stomach growled on cue, and she lowered her head in slight embarrassment. Yun Shu turned to Aunt Yun with a laugh, "Tell the kitchen to add another set of tableware."
Aunt Yun replied with a smile.
Yun Shu looked at Kang Jinse’s blushing cheeks and said with a laugh, "I certainly can’t let my grandson go hungry." Her eyes intently fell on Kang Jinse’s belly.
Yun Ya was taken aback, her gaze involuntarily resting on Kang Jinse’s stomach.
Kang Jinse was pregnant?
It was both unexpected and expected.
In her previous life, Kang Jinse didn’t have children, but that was after Yun Ya had been absent for ten years. In those ten years, so much had happened.
Kang Jinse placed one hand on her belly, gently caressing it, her face revealing a shy and tender smile, "Aunt Yun, this is the fruit of the love between Brother Shen and me. I want to have this baby."
Yun Shu’s smile was so broad it was hard to close her mouth, "Of course, you should."
Kang Jinse suddenly frowned with concern, "But Brother Shen..."
Yun Shu gently patted her on the back of her hand and said softly, "Don’t worry, Shenshen will have me to deal with. This is his own flesh and blood, my own grandson."
With Yun Shu’s reassurance, Kang Jinse finally breathed a sigh of relief, her face brightening with a smile once more.
She suddenly looked up at Yun Ya, who saw an unmistakable glint of triumph in her eyes and couldn’t help but smirk sarcastically.
This child, she wouldn’t be able to carry it to term.
Seeing Yun Ya’s mocking smile, Kang Jinse felt a surge of irritation, but quickly regained her composure.
——
When Yun Shen returned that evening, his brow furrowed involuntarily at the sight of Kang Jinse walking towards him.
"What are you doing here?"
The white dress, hair hanging down gracefully, a stark contrast from her usual sexy look, took on a different kind of elegance and gentleness under the light.
"I asked her to come," he said.
Yun Shen looked towards the couch, where a woman in a cheongsam sat gracefully, leisurely flipping through a fashion magazine in her hand.
"Mom," Yun Shen circled around Kang Jinse and headed towards the woman.
Behind him, Kang Jinse’s smile became slightly stiff, but soon she put on a gentle smile once again.
Yun Shu put down the magazine and looked up at Yun Shen.
"She’s pregnant with your child."
Yun Shen’s pupils suddenly contracted, like a breeze over the calm surface of a lake, causing ripples that quickly returned to stillness.
He turned his head to glance at Kang Jinse, who was somewhat afraid of his deep gaze, and quickly lowered her eyes, looking rather pitiable.
With one hand on her belly, she said softly, "Shenshen, I really know I was wrong, but I can’t let the child grow up without a father. I’ll try my best to be a good wife and a good mother, to treat Yun Ya and Yun Miao as if they were my own. Please, let me have this child."
Her voice was emotional, and tears streamed down her face; combined with her fresh and delicate appearance, she was very adept at moving people’s hearts.
From the side, Yun Shu said, "He’s my grandson; I absolutely cannot let him be abandoned. Plus, you need an heir. Do you think Yun Miao is suitable?"
Yun Shen looked visibly tired, his features highlighted by the light, handsome and cold, his voice firm and unquestionable.
"Tomorrow morning, I will accompany you to the hospital."
Kang Jinse’s heart trembled, "Shenshen..." The outcome she feared most had arrived.
"Abort the child."
Kang Jinse’s face turned deathly pale, and she staggered back a step, shaking her head in disbelief.
"Shenshen... he is your own flesh and blood. Why are you so heartless?" She had been holding onto a sliver of hope, but this man was so cruelly decisive. Why? Didn’t she deserve to bear his children in his eyes?
Was it that in this world, only Lanyi was worthy of bearing his children? But it was he who drove Lanyi away, so what was he doing now?
"Shenshen," Yun Shu said, her tone becoming heavier, "this child must be kept. Are you not even going to listen to me?"
Yun Shen seriously looked at Yun Shu, "Mom, I will listen to you in any other matter, but not this one, it’s non-negotiable." With that, he loosened his tie while walking upstairs, his tall, upright figure disappearing into the distance under the light.
Kang Jinse couldn’t take it anymore and burst into painful sobs.
Why, why had it turned out this way? No matter how much she deceived herself, it was nothing compared to the severity of reality—he was set on shattering even her last illusion.
Yun Shen, I hate you!
Yun Shu’s expression also darkened. She turned away and said indifferently to Kang Jinse, "Why are you crying? It hasn’t reached the worst yet. Just listen to me tomorrow morning."
----
Ji Die snuck in and reported to Yun Ya in detail about what happened outside, as he was playing puzzles with Yun Miao. They didn’t know how many times they had played, but they still enjoyed it tirelessly.
Yun Ya curled his lips slightly, his hands not stopping their precise movements.
Yun Shen, do you really love Lanyi or not?
If you love her, why keep a mistress outside, cause scandals brazenly, infuriate Lanyi to near death, and drive her away harbouring resentment?
If you don’t love her, why is she the only one worthy of bearing your children? You’re a man who is stubborn and proud to the core. Perhaps in your subconscious, Kang Jinse is nothing but a tool for you. To bear children? She doesn’t have that standing.
Indeed, Kang Jinse is merely your tool for revenge, a tool to strike at Lanyi. She could be Huang Jinse, Zhu Jinse, any woman in this world—Kang Jinse just happened to be the one you picked.
Is it her fortune or her misfortune?
Yun Ya knew, no matter how complex his feelings were for Lanyi and Kang Jinse, in the future, there would be a woman who would enjoy all of his affection.
She would be the cinnabar mole in the palm of his hand, the moonlight in his heart. For that woman, he would lead his own children down a path of no return.
Calculating the time, she should be appearing soon.
Everything begins anew, and our scores must be settled from the beginning.
