A Serpent's Tale
Chapter 353: Infiltrations
CHAPTER 353: INFILTRATIONS
In an instant everyone stopped shouting. I then took a deep breath to calm myself before I spoke again.
"This bitch DID in fact try to escape by killing herself, but I caught her soul, which not makes her more vulnerable to my powers."
I could see the Noble who guessed what happened correctly smile smugly at the one who accused me of lying. Not entirely sure why, maybe they had some sort of rivalry or something.
Either way, what mattered now was finding anyone else who might also be a member of this Cult.
"We will deal with this person later. For now, we move on to the next person."
...
Not too long later, we had gone through everyone and found three more Cultists among the members gathered here today.
The second one we found tried to kill themselves as well but the same thing happened. My [Soul Manifestation] captured them before their soul could move on.
As for the other two, one of them tried to kill someone else, but considering the people gathered here are at the top of society, they had the strength to fight back. Then the last one willingly gave herself up after seeing the failure of the other three.
Commendable, but it won’t excuse her from receiving her punishment. Still, it will be considerably lessened compared to the other three.
That said, everyone had now passed, excluding those four, we could finally get on with this meeting.
And Trayzara was the one to explain things, starting from the attack earlier all the way to when this meeting was called, which honestly wasn’t a very long course of events, but still.
"And before you ask how she suddenly knows these things she’s about to reveal to us, let her explain it first, then ask question, got it?" Trayzara said menacingly as she glared at everyone with a violent glint in her eyes.
Everyone nodded and Trayzara sat back down, allowing me to finally speak up and tell them what I found out.
"So, as I mention earlier, they’ve been at this for a long, LONG time. Eons possibly, there’s no way for us to properly know just how long they’ve been at this for. Regardless of that, what I do know is their general plan for what is essentially world domination."
Many started to murmur and grumble in annoyance.
I continued, "And the way they planned to do this is by infiltrating all the major powers of the world and either slowly take over from the inside, or corrupt it from within and causing it to collapse, whereupon they would then replace it with their own power."
"That’s not the only thing though..." Everyone looked towards me in confusion. Which made sense, after all, if their goal was world domination, why would they want to do more than that?
"Let me ask you this. If their goal was just world domination, why would they infiltrate the Sect? Or any major religion for that matter." This left everyone contemplating. All except for Trayzara, whom I had already told this to.
I gave them a few minutes to talk it out before I told them.
"To replace the Gods and Goddesses." I declared, causing everyone here to gasp out in shock, not daring to believe something like that was even possible.
"To achieve this goal in particular, they have been committing the most heinous, treacherous heresy imaginable... Exterminating their Bloodlines..." It didn’t feel good saying that. I really hate bringing that up.
It just makes me recall that I can’t even remember my own mothers face, her voice, her mannerisms. Nothing. I could only just barely make out the general image of her outline and smile, but apart from that? Nothing.
Unknowingly, I had lowered my head and began to shed some tears. I could tell that everyone felt sorry for me, but I couldn’t appear weak, not now. Not until I had killed everyone involved in this in the most horrifying ways imaginable.
That said, we first needed a plan of attack of some sort.
"Right now... We need to come up with a plan to eradicate their forces that have infiltrated both the Sect and the Nobility, then we expose them to the world and declare war."
"Hold on a moment, if we’re going to declare war, shouldn’t we at least get the other nations in on this. At the very least let the other kingdoms in the Empire know?" One of the Emberin Ladies, who I believe is the one that represents Justice and Righteousness, got up expressed her disapproval for how I wanted to go about things.
Fortunately, I didn’t have to answer her, as Trayzara did so for me, "No, if we let even one person outside this room know what has transpired, then we risk them finding out that we’re onto them, allowing them to prepare against us."
The Emberin then sat back down and grumbled something about how unfair this was to those of our kind out there that would probably be caught in the fallout or something.
Regardless, most of us were now in agreement with doing things the way I said, even if it wasn’t the best solution for anyone outside our kingdom.
That said, we then spent the next few hours planning how to take out all of the people and secret bases that I knew of from that guy that attacked the palace.
Three places in the north, two in the west and east each, four in the south and five just here in the capital, with two more in the central region of the kingdom.
Apart from these places, I also told them of all the names that I knew of that were Cult members. And when it came time to interrogate the people who had infiltrated this meeting, the one who had admitted to being a Cultists, ratted out everyone and every location she knew of.
As for the other three, the two that killed themselves were stubborn and refused to speak. This whole time they were being tightly coiled up by my [Soul Manifestation] just off to the side after I finished checking everyone. So, I went down to them and used my new [Soul Scouring] skill and took it from them by force.
It was extremely painful for them obviously, so their screams resonated throughout the room and sending shivers down everyone’s spines. Sadly, there were no more locations, but there were many new names, which I shared with everyone as I went back to my seat.
As for the last infiltrator, they had nothing else to share that we didn’t already know. Which unfortunately for us, was true.
Either way, we now had knowledge on who and where to attack, as well as how we were going to go about it.
The Sect would start by reorganising their forces over a period of time that wouldn’t attract too much suspicion, and the Nobles would slowly tear apart their businesses, acting like corrupted aristocrats in the process.
As for myself? I was to live my life as normal and as if nothing had happened. Which wasn’t really what I wanted, as I wanted to actually do something. But for the sake of the plan, I would wait until everything was ready.
And with that, the meeting had concluded.
