CHAPTER 467: RESULTS ARE IN

A week passed by after the incident with the King of Bernel Kingdom and the creation of the product that came from the Laporal Fruit which Elaina named as the Fertility Potion.

Although the testing phase was over, it was only to determine the right amount of potion intake to make the potion be effective. The effects itself has yet to be finalized and fully determined as it is not an immediate effect that can be seen or experienced immediately. Sure, the detection magic used by magic to determine the health of someone is working but Dr. Fey wanted factual and visual confirmation that the potion works as it is intended.

Dr. Fey already told Yona which she passed to Elaina that the medicine did restore the fertility of women but since they needed further observation, Dr. Fey delayed the final observations that will determine the success of the medicine and that is if the women who have success with restoring their fertility would be able to conceive at long last.

And today, the results has finally arrived as Dr. Fey visits the farm.

"Hello, Miss Elaina. Are things doing well in the farm? How are the kids?" Dr. Fey asked as she looked around the place.

"Looking good as always, doctor. The kids are also playing and are very healthy. They are quite energetic and sometimes hard to handle from time to time."

"Haha, that’s good Miss Elaina. Seeing how the farm has progressed, I can tell it has been doing quite well after all these years. Its sad that I don’t have much time to visit since I am extremely busy."

"How is your relationship with my brother? He might be always busy with his job but he works harder than anyone I know."

Dr. Fey blushed at Elaina’s question but she answered truthfully. "I idolized Sir Troy a lot. Perhaps I might even be totally be jnfatuated by him but I don’t want to assume considering how I always look. He deserves a prettier woman than me."

Elaina sighed but she didn’t say anything. Looks like her idiot brother has not made any moves at all. It’s been seven years and yet he still didn’t make a move. Perhaps a stern scolding would do the trick or she had to actually be the wingwoman to help these hopeless two to get together.

While Elaina is thinking about that, Dr. Fey quickly changed the subject.

"Anyways, Miss Elaina. We finally have a good amount of data regarding the effects of Fertility Potion and how effective it is a medicine. I already reported it to the Apothecary Guild and they already approved of it for legal distribution anywhere in the world."

"Does that mean...? Elaina’s eyes lit up.

" Yes. The fertility potion is a hundred percent effective! And not only that, even those people who were infertile since birth were cured by their infertility and have already confirmed their pregnancy. There is only one thing that makes this Fertility potion that cannot restore its fertility."

"One thing?" Elaina frowned. It seems that there is a defect that she needed to address with the others.

"Yes. Aside from young people, I also tried testing it on women who have experienced Menopause to see whether they can continue their menstrual cycle and conceive even if they have experienced menopause but it seems that it doesn’t work for natural causes. Women who have already passed the menopausal stage cannot continue to reproduce."

Hearing that, Elaina sighed in relief. Looks like even the Fertility Potion can’t help with that. Though Elaina think it is fine. They have already went past their prime and it is a natural way of the body to stop it from producing more work that it is having a hard time doing so.

"I think its fine. Good to know that you also tested it on women who have entered menopause. There’s nothing we can do if the potion can’t do anything about it."

"I agree. And I doubt anyone who have entered menopausal state would want to become pregnant again. The medicine is aimed for people who have been infertile and want to conceive a baby. There is no need for any changes then."

"Alright Miss Elaina. So, will you sell the medicine for worldwide use?" Dr. Fey asked.

"I will do that. And I will also distribute the recipe of the medicine to the apothecary guild so that they can teach it to others and not only limit the production only for us," Elaina said.

"Eh? I thought you will monopolize the medicine?"

Elaina shook her head. "There is no point and besides, Julia and Yona also don’t want to continue working on the medicine their entire life. We will keep the origin of the medicine as our creation but we will allow others to use it."

"I heard from Miss Yona that you used a fruit that is not present anywhere else and is only growing in your farm. If you plan to distribute the recipe of the potion, does that mean you are the only source of that fruit?"

Elaina smiled. "I would have liked that if I was greedy but no. I will start spreading these plants to others in the future so that they can cultivate and grow them. I don’t want the plant to remain exclusive to me. I want everyone to have access to it."

Hearing that, Dr. Fey sighed in relief. "Then, I will aid you in this matter, Miss Elaina. Although you said that you will be distributing the potion recipe, you didn’t sat yoy will stop creating it, yes?"

"Of course. This is our creation, why would we just suddenly give up creating it?"

"Then please supply my clinic with this potion. I would be more composed if the medicines I use for my patients comes from a trusted source."

Elaina smiled and nodded. "Heh, of course, Dr. Fey. Without your help, this potion wouldn’t be ready to use for everyone at all."

On the forest, the animals have gotten restless. The battle of Forest King candidates continued between various monsters and animals who compete to fill in the lacking role of the forest. However, no one has yielded and surrendered their candidacy.

And then, an outsider appeared. This time, it wasn’t even a candidate to become the guardian that would protect the forest. It is an invader that plans to conquer the lands. An ambitious being that wanted to become next being that would rule the whole place.

A Greater Ogre.

Although Alpha Animals are strong, and are intelligent creatures, they are not strong enough to fight back against a greater ogre. For them, the Greater Ogre is something that threatens the safety and neutrality of the forest.

However, even if the Candidates wanted to stop this outsider, it seems they are powerless to stop it from doing what it wanted to do.

And before they knew it, the forest has fallen under the rule of the Greater Ogre. The Forest King Candidates who fought bravely to protect the forest has perished and the remaining candidates who understood that fighting is a death sentence decided to flee, leaving the vacant seat unguarded and free for the taking.

And so, the new Forest King is born. However, unlike the forest kings of the past cycles, this forest king is a monster that desires for more. One that is not satisfied with ruling the forest and his kin.

Which makes him look at his new target. The humans. If he managed to conquer a single forest with Alpha animals and emerge victorious, then perhaps, a place where humans, powerless creatures capable of doing anything being conquered by him would be a good idea. As a result, he set his sights for the next target to conquer for the future.

However, behind the scenes are the ogres who wanted to remain peaceful and don’t want to engage in war. They are satisfied with their life and they prefer this life over the life of conquering other societies and making it their own. However, because their leader who rose in power is ambitious, they have no choice but to obey and follow him.

However, the moment they heard he is setting his sights to conquer the humans, they fear for their lives. Sure, the Alpha Animals are easier to deal but for humans? They might be small and easy to kill, but they have limitless potential. What their leader is doing might end up as a trigger for their tribe to be hunted down by humans.

So before the prepararion of the conqueroe to be finalized, one brave young greater ogre decided to undertake a quest to stop the Greater Ogre who plans to target the humans and prevent the attack that will cause the humans to retaliate.

"Father. I will stop you even if I will ally myself with the humans you wanted to squash in the future. For we Greater Ogres are not meant to be monsters that would endanger humans."

And for the young greater ogre, his first step of doing this is to connect and talk to a human.

And right before him, are three small individuals who seems to be coming out from the mines. Perhaps, he would try to ask them for help.
