A Single Mother's Farm of the Gods
Chapter 479: Mass Production
CHAPTER 479: MASS PRODUCTION
Elaina dispersed everyone to rest after the battle to repel the insects from the farm. She also offered apologies to the Greater Ogres who helped out. Thankfully, they do understand the situation, and considering that those plagues are something that is hard to predict, they don’t blame her for it.
The pests are still attacking the farms and are currently driving the farmers who deal with regular crops to anguish in despair as the locusts eat everything that they meet. The magicians are deployed to deal with them. The Grand Sage also decided to help out on the battle after resting for a bit. In exchange for his help, the Grand Sage offered his tower’s gadgets to Julia to use to replicate the repellent. If they wanted those insects to be destroyed, they needed to utilize the repellent itself and have them distributed to the farmers to ensure they are going to be used.
While Julia is checking the items she will be using to replicate and study the repellent, Elaina is currently questioning and inquiring with the Harvest Goddess about the newly invented item.
"Harvest Goddess, can you at least share how you created or at least what you used to create the item?" Elaina asked.
"Sure, but if I share this recipe, make sure to give me some payment? Something like food would be more preferable, you know?"
"Food? Then I will cook the food you want to be made for a whole month. Any kind of food you wish to eat, I will try my best to cook it."
"Make it 6 months. A single month won’t be enough, you know? Half a year would be a real good deal for that. Then I will share the recipe."
"Deal. So, can you tell me about it?"
The Harvest Goddess approaches Elaina and puts her palm to Elaina’s forehead. Before Elaina could even blink, a painful pang hit Elaina on her forehead. She fell on her butt, and she felt stunned from that. But as a result, a foreign memory that is clearly not hers entered her mind. And that memory is the recipe she was asking the Harvest Goddess for.
"So, did you get the recipe?" the Harvest Goddess grinned.
"Ow...couldn’t you have just told me, or something, like write it on paper if you don’t feel like talking? I was caught in surprise that you did that. At least make sure the way you did it was safe. Ouch...I thought something bore straight to my skull..." Elaina groans as she rubs her forehead, which still throbs in pain.
"Haha, but at least, it did work, yes? The recipe is something you won’t forget anytime soon, so you won’t be going to keep on asking me about it, do you?"
"Yeah, right...but at least you should have told me before you did that," Elaina sighed before she stood up and headed to the storage rack where she was storing the harvested crops that were going to be used for consumption instead of being sold. There, she took lots of the herbs she is growing as well as some starchy tubers that can produce starch like potatoes.
After gathering the initial ingredients, Elaina heads to the Grand Sage’s tower to meet up with Julia, who is assigned to help out with replicating and making the powder insecticide as it needed a bit of alchemy to create and with Julia being an expert on it, Elaina seeks her help to ensure the whole thing works.
Entering the tower, Elaina immediately saw Julia writing and scribling something as she analyzes the remaining repellent insecticide powder. It seems she is decoding and trying to learn the recipe in her own way.
"Julia, enough of that. I got the recipe now, I needed some help."
Julia was surprised when she heard that. "Wait, really? That was fast!"
"I exchanged it with food service for half a year for her. Seems fine by me which is why I agreed. Now let us start working. First, kindly extract the starch of these vegetables. We will need it to make the final product the powdery feel."
Julia immediately started obeying Elaina and started working. She didn’t question Elaina as the latter continues to bark commands by recalling the memory that the Harvest Goddess imprinted.
The two continued working for at least two hours before the product has finally been completed.
"Alright! It seems the production is consistent. We can begin the mass production of this and start distributing it to the others soon!"
Elaina nodded. Now that their first efforts are done, they can now proceed to start the mass production. And to get the production faster, Elaina and Julia seek help of the others including the Greater Ogres for help on the mass production process while also providing for the ingredients.
The Greater Ogres are enthusiastic at working on something new and upon learning it was the powder used to kill the insects earlier, they even had their children help out to ensure the production gets to be fast enough.
Thanks to the tireless efforts of everyone, the powder has finally been mass produced and can now be distributed to the others. Although these batch won’t be enough, it is needed to fully stop the insects from assaulting the farms and further stop them from damaging the remaining crops any further.
Princess Margaux decided to be the one who will be distributing the powders and distribute it to the people who needed it the most. Elaina also gave Princess Margaux a tip to help with the efficiency of the powders as well by retelling the method to fully destroy the insects that are attacking without fully wasting the whole powder in the container. There are plenty of it but if it was whisked recklessly, the powder will run out faster than usual.
Now the fate of the Kingdom’s crops lies on Princess Margaux as she rushes to her subordinates to distribute the powder. Whether she gets to resolve the black Locust plague or not as soon ss possible will all depends oh how efficient she is in her use of the powder.
