CHAPTER 520: DRAGON KNIGHT

Since the position that the Dragon Knight was currently high, Elaina had to leap over few obstacles just to get close to him. When Elaina was already near him, he opened his eye,s and his gaze at Elaina was so intense that Elaina felt unnerved just from it. However, that was it, perhaps because she can’t sense many things that are related to mana, perhaps whatever the dragon knight is throwing at her would just naturally bounce off or end up nullified in the process.

"How...how come you seemed unfazed?" The Dragon Knight looks confused.

"It doesn’t matter. I am here to remove this spear from your chest. If it is painful, it is okay to scream, but endure it as this is for your own good."

"Is that so? ...There is no way for you to remove that. Only those who bear the dragon slayer blood can remove that spear with ease."

Elaina grabbed the spear, and although there was indeed some kick that she felt upon touching the said spear, Elaina was not feeling any sort of discomfort aside from that and tried pulling the spear off the tree. The spear seems to be stuck hard enough for it to be a struggle to be removed.

But Elaina is someone who does not someone who give up easily. Seeing that her pulls are not working, she grabs a rope from her bag and ties it up on the spear as tightly as she can, making sure the rope will not be removed without untying it manually.

"What...what are you doing?"

"This might hurt a lot, but please endure it for a bit. Before the Dragon Knight could react, Elaina held the rope tied to the spear and suddenly jumped while holding it. Using her weight and the gravity, she used her grip to dislodge the spear from the Dragon Knight’s body and fully pull it off with less effort. In just a single yank from the sheer weight of Elaina, the spear got yanked off of the Dragon Knight, causing the latter to fall rapidly to the ground while Elaina landed safely on the ground and let go of the rope, causing the spear to bounce off the ground and fly a bit far from the tree.

Before the Dragon Knight fully crashed to the ground, he used his remaining strength to summon his wings and slow his descent, allowing him to land properly, but in the process, he collapsed once again from forcing himself to move.

Elaina approached the Dragon Knight and checked his pulse to see if he was still alive or had died in the process.

"Looks like he is still alive. He has just collapsed from forcefully summoning his wings to slow his descent. I didn’t think he would fall like that so fast, I almost killed him in the process..." Elaina sighed in relief. She then glanced at the wound where the spear was lodged before. It is still oozing the black liquid, which seems to be the blood of the dragon knight.

"Is it normal for the dragons to have black blood and bleed like this?" Elaina asked.

"[I have no idea, wait, let me fetch the Medicine gal for a bit and let’s ask her your question.]"

But before the God of Farming can fetch her, the Goddess of Medicine answered herself, "[No need to do that, I am already here since I am also seeing what is happening on her end. And no, the answer is no. Dragons bleed like humans and have red blood. Their blood only turns black or another color if they are either cursed or they are suffering from some sort of disease. There is no way for them to have black blood if that is the case. On this one, though, I think the main reason for him to bleed black blood is due to the Dragon Slayer Spear lodged in his body for a long time. A dragon slayer weapon is a bane for dragons due to their ability to corrode and even nullify their various abilities like fast healing and instant recovery, making them effective weapons during the war in the past where the Dragons are still active at war. I personally helped dragons back when the Gods are still on the land and I have cured countless of them who have suffered blows from Dragon Slayer weapons so this one is not a new thing for me. Elaina, I trust you brought some medicine just in case, yes?]"

"Yes. A few health potions and some of the medicinal herbs I grow in the farm are currently in my inventory."

"[That should be enough for now. Pour all of those medicines to his wound and soak the bandage you will be wrapping his wound with health potion and some ground medicine to further alleviate the damage. Considering that his blood has turned very bad right now, the best way for us to keep that wound closed and help him recover further from his wound is to take him away from this place and let him recover far from the world tree. With how this world tree is in a much more worse condition than the first one, he is more likely to suffer more if he stay here. It will also help with the World Tree recovery as well.]"

"Where should I even bring him?"

"[Far from where he was found and the source of the Holy Rot. The more he will be exposed to those, the more he will be suffering from aftereffects. He needed to rest and have his recovery abilities recover and let his body do the trick of healing his injured body back to full health. In short, it is best to drag him back to the surface. Sure, the influence of the rot is spreading on the land, but at least, he is far from the main source itself and he can focus on gathering mana in the air that is free from the influence of the World Tree.]"

Hearing all of the instructions necessary to save the Dragon Knight’s life, Elaina started to work and quickly produce the necessary items that can patch up the dragon knight. Elaina is experienced in patching herself up due to her solo experience when she was a child and with how much she got wounded at that time, she learned how to effectively patch themselves without wasting medicine and wasting bandage that can potentially save her life. Never would she thought she will be able to use that knowledge to save a dragon, no less from its wounds.

A few hours pass by and the oozing black blood has significantly lessened and the wound seems to be starting to heal up, that’s when Elaina started to bandage the Dragon knight from his wounds. Elaina also has no choice but to cut up his shirt just to get rid of the tainted blood soaking his shirt. Keeping it would just end up being thrown away as the big hole poking on the chest is glaring enough to say the least.

"Does dragons naturally live without dying even when their hearts are pierced?" Elaina asked to the two gods.

"[Very rare case, Elaina. There are some rare cases where they do survive but those are very rare. Most would die like how humans do. This dragon must be something else for him to survive that long with his heart pierced by a Dragon Slayer Spear no less.]"

Elaina glance at the Dragon Slayer spear that is currently lying on the ground a few inches away from her. She grabs the weapon and checks its quality. The spear remains pristine to the point that it looks like it hasn’t been used. If the spear wasn’t covered in blood in the first place, one would think the spear was just recently made or recently purchased on a store due to how it still looks new.

"[I suggest you keep that weapon hidden, Elaina. Dragon Slayer Spear might be meant to be used to kill dragons, but it can also kill demi gods if necessary. It was built like that with the intent to also kill those dragons blessed by the gods. In short, this weapon will not just be effective against dragons, it will be effective to almost anything lesser than a god. You might not use spears, but I think it will be a good weapon to keep with you in emergency.]" the Goddess of Medicine answered.

"That dangerous?!" Elaina was flabbergasted.

"[Correct, that dangerous. So keep that in safekeeping. Don’t sell it or even make it a scrap.]"

"But according to the dragon knight, I needed to have the dragon slayer power to even wield this spear properly..."

"[There’s no such thing as dragon slayer power or even blood if you think that was the case. People only thought so because they are very effective in wielding the weapon and making them an effective thing to use and fight enemies with. So even you, can actually wield and fight using that spear without difficulty.]"
