A Single Mother's Farm of the Gods
Chapter 524: Healing Time [III]
CHAPTER 524: HEALING TIME [III]
Despite being scolded by Julia, it didn’t stop her from her current task and Julia is not stopping her either. She is just worried that Elaina would be doing something that can harm herself without her knowing.
On the other hand, Julia is now helping her related on the brooch. Before she heads over to the mines and have the dwarves examine it, she wanted to see how the magic of it works and its intricacies that allows its wearers to pass barriers without problems.
"Hmm, it has complex magic mechanisms but not too overcomplicated for the sake of it. I can say it has the right amount of difficulty and complexity that I can quickly decipher this magic circuits built up inside. But yeah, I have not seen this kind of magic circuit before. I would like to study on this more and see if I can replicate it."
"Good luck, Julia. I might be giving you too much work, but I still appreciate it."
"Too much work? Not at all, Sis. Having things like this allows me to work more than ever on improving my abilities as the student of a sage. So yeah, providing me with these kind of work is a great way to improve my abilities as well without relying on my teacher to give me lessons."
Elaina nodded and although she still thinks she is doing too much work, if Julia thinks it wasn’t the case, then she is not worried at all.
Leaving Julia to concentrate on her task, Elaina head to the tower of the Grand Sage, looking for him to inquire about the Dragons considering he has some knowledge about them, he is the perfect person for it.
When he entered the tower, the Grand Sage is currently juggling some sort of balls made of magic in the air. Elaina does not understand what he was doing but she is fascinated by how well the Grand Sage was doing the juggle. Each throw in the air would allow him to grab another one which he would then juggle once more into the air.
She decided not to interfere and watch as the old man continue his task. The Grand Sage already noticed her presence but he didn’t say anything and just continued doing all of the juggling.
After a few while, the balls that he was juggling was soon combined into one single ball that soon appeared on his hand, this time, it is no longer made of magic, it solidified and looked like a large toy marble in his hands.
"Sorry for not saying anything, Farmer. I have to use all of my concentration just to not mess up the process and keep the Orb of Power intact and functional."
"It’s alright. Just watching you juggle those balls was amazing. What is that by the way? Orb of Power?" Elaina approach the ball with curiousity.
"Yes. Orb of Power. You can say it is one of the main core that stabilizes the space of this tower. I reinforced it just now so that it can continue to gather mana in the air without my intervention, essentially making the Orb of Power able to charge up itself permanently."
"Interesting..." Elaina get the gist of it but without the knowledge of magic? She barely understood any of it.
"So, what made you seek for me, Farmer? You needed some advice or something?"
"Not really about advice, but something related to the knowledge of dragons."
"Oho, about dragons eh? I don’t have much information about them, but I do have some things I can share. What particular thing are you seeking for?"
Elaina started explaining the current status of the Dragon Knight. Elaina even showed the Dragon Slayer Spear that pierced the Dragon Knight in the chest and described how severe the wounds of the Dragon Knight.
He grab the Dragon Slayer Spear and check the tip of the spear, inspecting every intricate details that comes from it and nodded before talking, "I think it isn’t a miracle that he survived this weapon lodged on his chest. This weapon is a dragon killing weapon, capable of defeating dragons with ease. It even can break barriers and weaken anyone hit by it, making this spear a formidable weapon, not just against a dragon. So for him to survive being pierced by this, I can tell that he has a gene that allows him to remain alive even when destroyed. Very dangerous indeed."
He wave his hand a little tablet flies towards Elaina’s palm.
"What is this?" Elainana picks up the item resting from her palms and inspected it carefully.
"A special medicine that only dragons can use. Let the Dragon Knight drink it so that he can recover his energy, close his wounds quicker and allow him to trivialize all his injuries, whether they are internal or external," the Grand Sage explained.
"Isn’t this an elixir if that is the case?"
"No. Although it has good effects for dragons, it doesn’t have any beneficial contribution to the humans, making them exclusive to dragons only. If this is an elixir, it does not discriminate races, whether they are dragon or not."
"Then this thing is very valuable! How can I accept?!" Elaina wanted to give the item back to the Grand Sage but the latter did not accept the medicine again.
"That medicine is plentiful here in my tower, but it doesn’t mean I have a lot of it. I keep it as souvenir from my dragon friend but considering you needed one piece of it, I don’t think there is no harm in sharing it. And considering that the medicine is quite potent for dragons, I doubt you will need more than one to heal the dragon back to full health. So keep it, use it on that said dragon knight and have him explain what happened and he will understand."
"I doubt it would be that easy to do so. But I also believe that the dragons are reasonable and is within reasoning range. But I know you can do it. You are the farmer after all, uniting people as one is easy for you."
"Just because I managed to gather different traces of other races doesn’t mean I am quite capable of uniting everyone!" Elaina protests.
The Grand Sage only laughs at Elaina about it and pat her shoulders. "I know you will deny that, but seeing what you are doing now? Doubt it. You are going to be doing things that other people find it hard to do so. And I won’t stop you for it. I encourage you to continue."
After saying that, the Grand Sage bid farewell to Elaina and teleported somewhere she had no idea, leaving her alone. Elaina glance back at the medicine in her hand and sighed.
"Looks like I am indeed going to be using this."
...
...
...
She didn’t immediately bring the medicine to the Dragon Knight and instead, she head to her tools for gardening. She grab the shears and a grasscutter, alongside a machete she uses only to cut some things.
What she plans to do is slowly prune the World Trees from their holy rot. If they are both trees, then that means they can be pruned withe a bit of try.
She noticed that some of the World Trees branches starts to rot so to get those rot removed, pruning them would be the best choice.
As for the trunk, Elaina has no idea what to do with it. Since it was one of the parts that are more affected, she doesn’t think her abilities as a farmer would be able to help there. More importantly, it is also dangerous for her to tinker on the trunk. Considering it is indeed the trunk, the rot could potentially be eating away the tree from the inside and one wrong move could potentially blow the tree down and killing it.
Once she is done collecting the necessary tools for what she plans to do, she decided to return to the Land of the Dead. The sooner she solves the underlying problems of the place, the sooner she will be done with the tasks for the Creator God and she can now view the next task.
Elaina made sure to talk to Julia before leaving again. It is close to nighttime when Elaina returned to the Land of the dead. With all the stuff she have done that day, she already felt like she have already done quite a lot already and yet she also knows she is farther from the truth.
Once she returned, she headed straight to the rock where she lean the unconscious Dragon Knight. He is still there, still unconscious but breathing. She didn’t blame the dragon for collapsing as she bet that rhe dragon did not receive any good way to rest while impaled by the Dragon Slayer Spear. It must have been an eternal torment for him.
With the medicine in hand, Elaina approach the unconscious Dragon Knight and feed the medicine to his mouth. She just hoped this still works well.
