CHAPTER 528: READY

Fohl was ready to say the worst news to Elaina at that time after receiving the orders of the two old heroes. He fully knows how troublesome his request will be, but he still hopes that Elaina will actually understand the situation. But he also knows that even with this news, there is a big chance that nothing will change, and it will just add more pressure to Elaina to finish the whole thing. He feels guilty, but he has no choice. This is for the safety of everyone after all.

He is already standing in front of the farm’s gate. He is preparing himself to enter, but he is also fearing the reaction that he will get from her. And so, he is stuck at the entrance, trying to force himself to knock.

Just as he was ready to go in for real this time, someone appeared behind him.

"Oh? Are you here on business with my sister?"

Fohl looked behind him and saw a man who looked a bit like Elaina, but more manly and a bit taller than Elaina. He must be the brother whom he heard about. Based on what he remembered, his name should be Troy.

"Not really business related...But I do need to see your sister for something that requires her knowledge. Don’t worry about the introduction with her; she knows me already."

Troy nodded with understanding and opened the gate. "I see. Then, if you are, what is your name? I will ask my sister if she knows someone with this name and confirm if you are indeed someone trustworthy. Just making sure, since there are some bad actors out there trying to cause trouble for my sister. She has lots of things to deal with on her plate. I don’t want to increase that."

"Ah, yes. Tell her that Fohl is looking for her. She will know immediately."

Troy nodded and left Fohl behind the gates. Fohl, on the other hand, sighed in relief and decided to wait for Troy to return. A few minutes later, he returned with an awkward smile on his face.

"Sorry for keeping you there, Fohl. I didn’t know that you were indeed someone important. Also, you should have said so that you are Mier’s father, and I might have immediately let you in, considering that you do look like Mier."

"It’s fine and probably the best to be honest. There is plenty of trouble happening and it doesn’t hurt to be extra cautious."

Fohl entered the farm and headed straight to the farmhouse. But he didn’t expect to see the crates being prepared while heading there by the children and some of the workers of the farm.

And there, he saw Elaina ordering everyone on where they should put the crates in an orderly manner. She quickly noticed him and smiled.

"Nice timing, Sir Fohl. We have just finished the first supply of the Underwater Breathing potion, tested and fully functional. We can start the delivery to everyone prepping for the battle, right?"

Fohl was stunned and not sure if he was seeing it correctly.

"You have already finished the potion supply, Miss Elaina? Isn’t that a bit too fast? And I thought that you would have taken some time before you get to finish the potion, and the deadline was a better time frame for the counterattack."

"Well, it was indeed like that back then when we first discussed what you wanted and who issued the request, but after learning it, we managed to easily find how to craft it thanks to our resident sage, who helped us. He also helped us with the procurement of two of the ingredients that are not found in the local area, allowing us to fully prepare and complete the whole thing and produce it."

"That’s fortunate indeed. So, how long is the duration of the potion? If it lasts for a short duration, we need a lot of it."

"Well, it is fortunately functional for twelve hours max. In short, we can use the potion’s effect for a whole day by drinking two bottles’ worth of the potion. Everyone can focus on fighting for a long time before the effects even expire."

Fohl was surprised. He was expecting an hour at maximum or a few minutes at best per bottle, but twelve hours was not something he expected.

"Then that changes things! These amounts should certainly be enough while the battle is ongoing! Everyone will be elated to learn about this development and how it is working for us! Everyone is so worried about the supply not yet done while the danger is creeping out on us!" Fohl is quite happy as he inspected the bottles of underwater breathing potion one by one.

Elaina became worried. "Is the situation in the Merfolk Kingdom so tense now that even my grandparents are asking for a rush job for these potions? I thought it would take a month at maximum?"

"Yeah, that was the first assumption during the first time the surveyors and scouts estimated the awakening of the Leviathan. But thanks to the meddling acts of some people as well as the signs of escalation of warning signs, we can no longer safely say that the time limit is around a month now. It felt like any time soon, the ocean will start causing danger, and the massive beast would awaken and sow terror to the inhabitants of the sea soon enough."

Elaina sighed and looked at the crates. "Then you’d better be going now. Considering that time is the essence, I doubt you still have the time to dawdle here and talk to me. Better deliver these potions as soon as possible."

Fohl nodded and pulled out the dimensional storage bag he always carries to put the potions inside. "Thanks. And you are right, these potions must be delivered as soon as possible. I doubt the Leviathan will wake up today, but it never hurts to be doing this in advance and make the preparation ready anytime."

"I will also continue to create the potion as well in case anyone needs more, so don’t hesitate to return to get them."

Fohl nodded and packs the crates as soon as possible. Once everything is done, he quickly returns left in a hurry. Troy came out with a bit of snacks in a tray in his hands, perhaps for Fohl.

"Huh? Where is our visitor?" Troy asked.

"He left just now. He is on an important mission."

"Did Grandma or Grandpa call him back already? Their mission might be a lot harder than I thought. I wasn’t expecting you not to participate, though." Troy looked at Elaina with a curious look as he started eating the snacks prepared that were meant for Fohl.

"Of course not, I might like to fight, but right now, I am a supplier, creator, and a farmer. I am not a fighter and I think this works best for me now, instead of heading into the frontlines myself."
