A Son For My Billionaire Step-brother
Chapter 12
CHAPTER 12: CHAPTER 12
Olivia’s point of view
"I already bought you the medicines you need. The antibiotics and bandages when you need to clean your wounds," I said while putting all the things I’ve bought from the drugstore on the way here.
"Also, I pay for your medical bills already so you don’t have to. Mainly, you won’t let me. That’s why I paid for everything before you could—" I paused when I noticed he’s not answering and saw him staring at me like an idiot.
My eyebrows met before hitting him on the arm where his wound is. "Ouch!" He groaned.
"Stop pretending, Gabriel. Your wound is far from where I hit you. Besides, you’re staring at me like an idiot. Do you even hear what I said?" I asked.
He nodded, "Yes, I heard you the first time. It’s just that, I never experience being taken care of. This is the first time."
I rolled my eyes, "Don’t take this wrongly, okay? I’m not taking care of you. I just wanted to avoid any future conscience, especially since my mother will kill me if she finds out I’m the reason for your wound and didn’t handle it."
"Why? I’m asking you to take responsibility for the accident," he answered.
"I know but this is my decision. So stop asking too many questions and drink this," I handed him the tablet for pain and he swallowed it in a flash.
I gave him a bottle of water and he accepted it. After that, I went to the table to check the food I bought. I have extra time today, especially since I took a day off from work. My son, on the other hand, was with my mother. So, I have time pestering Gabriel in case he becomes stubborn when it comes to his medicines.
"Here," I gave him a salad.
He looked at it with disgust and answered, "Are you trying to turn me into a vegetarian, Olivia?"
"No. I’m trying to make your wound heal faster," I responded. I raised my eyebrow and added, "Eat that if you want to get out of this prison quickly."
"Yes, ma’am..." he said with sarcasm.
I smiled sarcastically before heading back to the table when suddenly someone barged inside the hospital room. Catherine rushes in Gabriel’s bed, checking his wound like he has a few hours left to live.
"What happened to you?!" She said, hysterical.
Gabriel took his arm away and I witnessed how his expression changed when she came. "It’s none of your business, Catherine. Why are you here? Who told you about what happened?"
"Sanchez told me."
"What?"
"Actually, I forced him to tell me. Anyway, that’s not important right now. Who did this to you? I swear to God, Gabriel. I will make whoever did this pay!" She threatened.
I clear my throat to get her attention and she swirls at me, looking at me with disdain. "You. I wouldn’t be surprised if you were behind this!"
I sneered, "Watch your words, Catherine. You seemed to be accusing me of something I didn’t commit. It was an accident. There’s a difference between accident and intention."
She marched towards me and pushed me, "Gabriel got into an accident because of you!"
I scoffed, "Are you serious?"
"Yes! I will sue you for this!" She takes her phone out and starts dialing something when Gabriel steals it from her.
He was now standing behind Catherine. He did something on her phone before shutting it down, and then handed it back to her.
"Olivia had nothing to do with my accident, Catherine. Stop accusing her."
"Why are you protecting her, Gabriel? She’s not even your real sister!"
"Enough!" He raised his voice.
Catherine clenched her fist, "No! I’m not shutting up unless she pays for what she did to you!"
Without hesitation, Catherine attacked me like an angry beast who’s ready to kill. She pulled my hair and I did the same, we fought and ignored Gabriel. We fell on the ground, pulling each other’s hair.
I scratch my nails to her skin to stop her, but this woman’s eagerness is incredibly annoying.
"Olivia! Catherine! Enough!—" Gabriel paused. "F*ck!" He grunted.
We stopped fighting and saw him on the floor with a bleeding arm. I pushed Catherine away from me to check him.
"Are you okay?" I asked in panic.
"See? That’s your fault! You kick him and fall!" She blamed me.
"I’ll call the doctor, Gabriel. Stay here," I said to him while ignoring his obsessed girlfriend.
I rose and was about to leave when Catherine stopped me by pulling my hair again, and I’m not letting her bully me just like that. Without second thought, I slapped her. She gasped in shock, touching her cheek where my hand landed with an open mouth.
"Gabriel is bleeding because of your childishness, Catherine. Now, if you’re not going to stop with this stupidity. I will have you arrested!" I shouted.
She became quiet, a sign that I was right. I took that opportunity to leave when I heard Gabriel’s faint groan. I looked around and saw him turn pale, causing me to get nervous.
I faced Catherine and ordered, "Call the doctor. Now!"
She stormed out of the room unwillingly after receiving an order from me. Meanwhile, I went to Gabriel and lifted the sleeve of his shirt. I was backfired to see his stitched wound bleeding and open. He must have hit it when Catherine accidentally kicked him, and she dared to blame it on me.
"You’re going to take care of me, after all..." he chuckled.
"Stop joking around, Gabriel. This isn’t the right time," I scolded him.
"I love being taken care of by you, Olivia..." he whispered.
"I said stop!"
He smiled weakly, "You and Gavin are the greatest thing that happened to me..." After saying that he became unconscious.
"Gabriel!" I yelled.
The doctor and nurses arrived at his room. They put him in his bed. I rose, feeling scared with his situation. I stare at the blood in my trembling hand before facing Catherine who was standing there quietly.
He will live right? Right?
