Chapter 551 - 298: Truly a Perfect Match
CHAPTER 551: CHAPTER 298: TRULY A PERFECT MATCH
March 19, Han Youxin’s second birthday.
It’s quite embarrassing to say, Han Youxin should be the true protagonist of this birthday party, the only birthday star, yet his presence has been so low that Qin Huai only met the little birthday star on the day of the birthday.
The chubby little birthday star.
Han Youxin, raised well by President Han and his wife, was fair and plump, with arms like chubby lotus sections.
The March weather was still a bit chilly when Qin Huai saw Han Youxin. The little chubby one was wrapped tightly and held in his mother’s arms, wearing a thick brown bear style cotton jacket, and was pointing at the ceiling light with a silly grin.
It was apparent that Wang Jing had good arm strength.
A two-year-old is already quite heavy, not to mention that Han Youxin is a chubby little guy with arms like lotus stems, and dressed so thickly. Wang Jing could easily hold the child with one hand and even use the other hand to send messages on her phone, a clear sign she was trained.
"Master Qin, sorry for specially calling you out at this hour, hope it didn’t delay your snack preparations?" Wang Jing apologized with a smile, patting her son to signal Han Youxin to be quiet and stop making noises.
"Not at all," Qin Huai replied.
It truly didn’t delay anything. It was just 9 am, and Qin Huai had worried he wouldn’t handle everything with Zang Liang, so he arrived in the kitchen just after 5 am today.
However, Qin Huai wasn’t the first to arrive; Zang Mu came after 4 am, and Tong De Yan arrived a bit later around 7 am, not to mention the other helpers who had all arrived before 6 am.
For events like banquets, it’s always best for kitchen staff to arrive early. Better to have idle time than get overwhelmed at the last minute.
Everybody was under contract, and any mistakes would cost money.
Arriving early meant Qin Huai and Zang Liang finished their tasks quickly, with the first batch of Three Meat Buns, Fermented Rice with Steamed Buns, and Four Happiness dumplings all coming out of the pot. Even the Longevity Noodles were served to Qin Huai, Zang Liang, Zang Mu, and Tong De Yan, each having a bowl. If they weren’t worried about running out of broth, Qin Huai would have had more.
Back at Huang Ji, Longevity Noodles were abundant, and whenever Qin Huai wanted to eat, he had broth to cook noodles.
Returning to Yunzhong Restaurant was different; it lacked such high-standard meat Chef talents.
Longevity Noodles’ excellence depends 50% on the noodles and 50% on the broth.
No ordinary Chicken Soup will produce exceptional Longevity Noodles, only those simmered with rich broth can reach a shiny B-level or even B+ level of Longevity Noodles.
The Longevity Noodles made with Zang Mu’s broth were B+ level, and it had been a long time since Qin Huai had such level. At the first taste, he was tempted to lick the bowl clean.
"Excuse me, Mr. Wang, is there any special request on your end?" Qin Huai asked.
Cheng Gong had mentioned that Wang Jing and Han Guishan were a self-made couple, and Wang Jing was part of the company’s upper management a few years back. It was only in recent years, with achieving financial freedom alongside having a child, that she retired completely from company matters, thus calling her Mr. Wang wasn’t out of place.
"It’s not a requirement, just that yesterday Master Tong mentioned to my husband, Mr. Han, that the menu was changed from sweet soup to Longevity Noodles, which I think is great. I just wanted to ask if the Longevity Noodles contains any ingredients unsuitable for children, since it’s Youxin’s birthday and I want him to try some at the banquet. The child doesn’t have any allergies; just worried about ingredients unsuitable for kids now."
As Wang Jing spoke, Han Youxin began to suck his thumb, which Wang Jing gently patted to make him reluctantly pull it out of his mouth.
Upon hearing Wang Jing’s concern, Qin Huai was relieved. As a seasoned meat Chef, Tong De Yan had discussed the ingredients required for Longevity Noodles with Qin Huai for over 20 minutes on WeChat the previous night to confirm that there weren’t any ingredients that guests might avoid.
"You don’t need to worry about that. Last night, Master Tong double-checked the ingredients, and there’s no issue at all. Young kids can eat it perfectly fine." Qin Huai explained with a smile, "President Han also specially reminded us to prepare a small bowl of Longevity Noodles for Han Youxin, with finer and thinner noodles, smaller portion but the same length as regular Longevity Noodles."
Only then did Wang Jing feel at ease, gesturing to a nanny nearby, who immediately stepped forward to take Han Youxin from Wang Jing’s arms.
"That’s wonderful, Master Qin. Are you busy now? I just heard from Cheng Gong that you all were having noodles in the kitchen."
Qin Huai: ?
"No... not busy."
Wang Jing’s smile became more genuine: "That’s wonderful. I’ve been on a diet and avoiding carbs at night. Last night I asked Mr. Han to save me some Fermented Rice with Steamed Buns, Three Meat Buns, and Four Happiness dumplings, but he ate them all and left me just one Fermented Rice Bun. After eating that bun this morning, I couldn’t eat anything else for breakfast. Is there still any noodles in the kitchen? Could you get me a bowl?"
Qin Huai: ...
Mr. Wang, you and President Han truly are a couple who fought hard together from scratch!
"Yes, we do," replied Qin Huai, "If you don’t mind, the first batch of test-made Three Meat Buns, Fermented Rice with Steamed Buns, and Four Happiness dumplings are available. The Four Happiness dumplings are raw and need to be cooked, the Fermented Rice with Steamed Buns might have cooled a bit, and there are a few unsteamed Three Meat Bun doughs you might need to wait a few minutes for me to steam."
The freshly steamed Three Meat Buns had just been finished by Zang Liang.
Wang Jing’s eyes lit up but she still asked, "Do you have any noodles?"
"The noodles will take a bit longer, as handmade noodles need to be prepared freshly."
