Chapter 467: Chapter 297: The Revenge Begins!_3
Walking to the parking lot outside the neighborhood gate, Shen Yan and Wang Chao got into the car and were just about to start the engine when a van suddenly charged toward them.
The van’s window rolled down, and a silvery-gray Energy Gun stretched out.
Bang!
A blue Energy Bullet shot toward the vehicle, flipping the black Eagle One over.
The gunman, still not satisfied, fired another shot at the fallen black Eagle.
Bang!
The black Eagle exploded.
——
Tang Fei spent the afternoon drinking with Sheng Xinhua, and didn’t go back in the evening but stayed to have dinner at the Phoenix Pavilion.
Exactly as Sheng Xinhua had said, he did indeed consider the Phoenix Pavilion his second home.
Your girlfriend’s is your own, isn’t it?
Phoenix didn’t mind, so what was there for him to mind?
Even Phoenix’s pet Bichon Frise, Ball Ball, now refrained from barking at him; it climbed affectionately onto his lap, hooking his arm with its little paws, beckoning him to stroke its fur and scratch its belly.
A loving family.
Sheng Xinhua was a drinker, drinking in the afternoon and continuing into the evening.
Of course, she could hold her liquor and knew how to control herself; even after drinking so much, she was still sober and clear-spoken.
This made it very difficult for Tang Fei to do anything not suitable for children. Hadn’t this woman ever learned to pretend to be asleep?
Knowing she couldn’t change Tang Fei’s mind, Phoenix didn’t try to persuade him any further. She simply asked the kitchen to prepare some fine dishes and offered her treasured vintage wine.
Tang Fei preferred baijiu, but this made Sheng Xinhua ecstatic.
She hugged the wine bottle and berated Phoenix for favoring romantic relationships over friendships, recalling when she had pleaded in vain before for Phoenix to open this bottle.
But now, with Tang Fei’s arrival, Phoenix had willingly uncorked it.
Phoenix could only desperately explain that she had opened the wine because both of them had come, or else she would never have been willing to do so.
Bonds with friends are relaxed and cozy; Tang Fei truly enjoyed this way of life.
Only in front of Phoenix and Sheng Xinhua could he feel the pleasures of life.
Otherwise, his mind was filled with worries.
If given the choice, he would have wished to be a carefree, pretty boy clinging to the Princess’s leg.
His only daily concern should be how to please Her Highness…
Instead of engaging in the arduous, crazy tasks at hand, just thinking about the powerful enemies he faced made Tang Fei feel a sense of helplessness.
Could this really be the work of humans?
“Come on, drink up,” Tang Fei initiated the toast.
“Tang Fei, you owed me a drink just now. Make it up to me,” Sheng Xinhua called out coquettishly, pointing at Tang Fei. “Quality of one’s drinks reflects one’s character. Bad drinking manners show a bad character.”
“Fine, fine, I’ll drink. It’s just a drink, right? With such fine wine, the more you drink, the more you gain,” Tang Fei declared boldly.
“With wine this good, take your time to savor it… Aren’t you two treating peonies as beef?” Phoenix interjected to stop them, helplessly watching the pair down the wine one cup at a time.
Just then, Tang Fei’s phone on his wrist rang.
Tang Fei glanced at the caller ID and answered the phone, asking, “What’s up?”
“Captain, Shen Yan has been attacked and is now in the hospital,” Tan Yu’s voice came through the phone, who was the key secretary.
“How is he?” Tang Fei immediately stood up, asking urgently.
“He’s in a critical condition.”
“Which hospital? I’m on my way.”
“Imperial First Military Hospital.”
After hanging up the phone, Tang Fei looked at Phoenix and Sheng Xinhua and said solemnly, “The Lu Family’s reprisal has begun.”
