Abyss Draconis
Chapter 785: Aura 1
Chapter 785: Aura 1
One moment, he stood there like he wasn’t any different from them.
Though of exceptional handsomeness and out of place due to the shimmering purple tattoos present all around him, that would only earn him a second more of a longer glance from anyone, nothing wild.
But this.
This was unprecedented, something impossible to ignore.
A terrifying aura wave that sank their hearts to the bottom of their chests.
Flickering blue flames appeared all around him, burning gently like a man set on fire.
Air stopped moving.
Sound came to a screeching stop, as if the world had been paused.
And then, there was the aura that made him want to fall onto both knees.
An urge Anteris tried to resist with pure will, though it was still so difficult, even when the aura wasn’t exactly targeted toward him.
SUBMIT TO THE KING!
SUBMIT TO THE KING!
SUBMIT TO THE KING!
The roar was what she heard.
It was like a gong that wouldn’t stop ringing, and hence brought forth a headache that tried to split her head in two.
She held her reason, finding no sense in what was happening, but that only seemed to destroy her further, as the words became louder and louder.
Rakshasa’s hand gripped her head tightly, teeth grinding together from pure resistance, but in the end… she failed.
ROOOOOOOOOOOOAAARRRRR!
A powerful roar echoed through the forest as her form rapidly magnified.
From her 2.3-meter-tall height, she grew to a hulking 5-meter-tall monster, with claws as sharp as the sharpest razors.
The love symbol in her eyes began to burn with a bloodthirsty crimson light, and her skin grew blacker like soot.
Two large wings burst out from her back, followed by the curved horns that reached to the front.
And from her spine, the black tail grew, ending in a weird, love-coloured shape.
She had been forced to morph into her true form, but doing so led to the roar in her head fading away—her eyes growing still and deadly calm.
But she wasn’t the only one who transformed.
Right beside her was a gigantic Frost Wyvern covered in hundreds of shimmering frost runes, about 15 meters in size.
And just to the other side was a gigantic 60-meter-tall Frost Wyvern, bearing three heads.
An aura of primal savagery bloomed around her as she silently floated behind him.
But what was different was that, in her eyes were flickering blue flames, impossible not to note within those silvery white irises.
Void was already in his Void Panther form, the same blue flickering flames in his eyes, too.
“They changed to their beast forms?” Antares muttered under his breath as he looked around, finding only him and Ryuk being the only two who remained in their humanoid forms.
He turned to look at Ryuk, just the side of his face, and a sudden fear gripped him, resulting in him snapping his gaze back to the ground.
Teeth clenched when he felt the crushing pressure on his neck, but then—
GRAB!
He felt the hands that grabbed at his shoulder, and instantly, the pressure faded.
Raising his head, he found those flaming blue eyes looking directly at him, the familiar grin on his lips.
It was exactly that grin he knew from Ryuk, and it succeeded in calming his rapidly magnified fear.
“Hey, you ready?” Ryuk spoke up, as Antares hmmed confusedly.
“They don’t look exactly friendly,” he added, watching as Ryuk turned to look into the distance with faintly creased eyebrows.
And Antares turned to look forward, only for his pupils to dilate in shock.
ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAR
ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAR
ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAR
ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAR
ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAR
ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAR
For the next few seconds, there was nothing but the sound of roars, and soon enough, the sun in the sky was blanketed, causing a shadow to fall on them.
And these shadows were formed from the assembly of beasts that had formed right above them, an assembly of thousands of beasts that previously lay hidden in the jungle.
They came in all shapes and sizes—the smallest of them the size of an entire boulder.
And the biggest of them?
RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMBBLLLLEEEEE
The ground shook with thunderous power as the ships they stood in tilted to the side.
‘What’s that!?’ Antares asked out loud in shock, balancing himself not from the ship’s tilting, but from the sudden aura that came from the distance.
RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMBBLLLLEEEEE
Once more, the rumbling sound came, and that was when it occurred to him.
The group’s expression changed massively, save for Ryuk.
In this jungle, they had many times come across those eye-catching mountains, whose forms lay hidden by the jungle flowers.
An argument had even once broken out when Elder Cleine had said the radar picks up vibrations on those rocks as if they were… breathing, but they had all dismissed it with a laugh.
Yet—
RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMBBLLLLEEEEE
The same mountains they had dismissed as just rocks were now moving, with an aura that shook their hearts.
It was not even a tiny bit paler compared to the one they had been assaulted with from Ryuk just moments ago.
A total of three stepped forth, and with just a few strides, they were already before them.
But then, something familiar reached Antares.
A familiar aura that drew his soul, and his eyes turned to look up at the shoulders of these giants.
And there he found them.
Ones that seemed no different from him, red eyes, red hair, a body that looked sculpted from rock, oozing with incredible brute force.
They stood on the shoulders of these gigantic Forest Golems, in threes and fours, their hands folded into each other, and staring right at them.
The giants eventually came to stand 20 meters away from the ship, and finally, Antares saw them with clarity, the words unconsciously escaping his lips:
“Aetheris Barbarians!”
