Abyss Sequence
Chapter 348 - 5: Materialization
CHAPTER 348: CHAPTER 5: MATERIALIZATION
——Finally back!
When the armored vehicle she was in passed through the space portal and the familiar red moonlight again fell upon her, Sasa couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief, suddenly feeling a sense of ’coming home’.
Actually, it wasn’t wrong, the Crimson Abyss was indeed a part of ’home’ for Sasa and the others.
Sasa turned to Yulia and asked with concern, "Ms. Bilukova, after slaying that disaster-level demon this time, can you accommodate more engravings?"
During her stay in Gass City, Yulia consulted the Lord of Gass City and learned that there was a disaster-level demon wandering in the Gass Forest, so she found a guide and went hunting for that demon.
Sasa was particularly concerned about whether there was a difference between the disaster-level demons of Alfheim and those of Blue Star, which was right in her field of expertise.
Yulia nodded, "I can’t say I can accommodate more engravings, but after hunting that demon, I felt a familiar sense of fulfillment. Unexpectedly, I seem to have gone further."
When Sasa and the others went to Alfheim, Yan Luo still hadn’t obtained the Evil God’s Mark and didn’t know that engravers beyond the Second Rank needed to strengthen their souls to improve themselves.
So Yulia couldn’t quite describe her exact feelings, just a real sense of ’I really have grown stronger’.
Helena, sitting in the driver’s seat, was very excited after hearing this, not expecting that Ms. Bilukova, at her age, could still go further.
If she can continue to improve, she’ll be the first on Blue Star to have twelve engravings—by the way, the record for ’eleven engravings’ also belongs to Yulia, but not ’ten engravings’.
Perhaps Ms. Bilukova could even become the first Sequence One engraver on Blue Star!
Just thinking about it made Helena admire Yulia even more.
The convoy marched grandly, and even disaster-level demons dared not provoke them, returning safely to Crimson No. 2.
——Maybe because the Abyss evolved again, demons could even generate emotions similar to ’fear’.
Shortly after returning to Crimson No. 2, Sasa and the others were overwhelmed by the news that greeted them.
During their time going to Alfheim, the Forbidden Demon Abyss had been successfully eradicated, and Yan Luo obtained something called the ’Evil God’s Mark’, from which he learned the origin of the Abyss...
They had spent less than a month before and after going to Alfheim, but it felt as if they had been away for many years?
After receiving the news, Sasa was stunned for a while and then went together with Yulia to Yan Luo’s villa.
Upon seeing Keke at the villa, Sasa knew that Yan Luo was back, but he was not inside the villa at that moment.
"Keke, where did Yan Luo go?" Sasa asked the round robot.
Keke projected a smiling face emoji, answering: [Master has already gone Abyss hunting.]
Yulia couldn’t help but remark, "Yan the Younger is truly a training fanatic. Having just eradicated the Forbidden Demon Abyss, he quickly went Abyss hunting again after coming back."
Yan Luo was no longer short of money; to him, going Abyss hunting was more for enhancing his own strength.
Sasa was somewhat disappointed because she had many questions to ask Yan Luo.
"Since Yan Luo is back, I should also move somewhere else to live," Yulia said.
Sasa turned to Yulia, pondered for a moment, and said, "Ms. Bilukova, you can continue living here. I suppose Yan Luo would be very willing for you to stay in his house."
Yulia laughed heartily and patted Sasa on the shoulder, "I know he would be willing; after all, he is my fan. But as a single lady, living with a man always ends up with bad impressions, especially since we are not short of money, there’s no need to cohabitate to save money."
Yulia left Yan Luo’s villa and moved out elegantly with her few belongings.
After sending Yulia off, Sasa returned to the academy dormitory.
Upon returning to the academy, Sasa found many changes there.
Street trees had been planted, and many colorful flowers were added to the garden. The once cold and deserted academy became lively due to the school staff’s residence.
From the next semester, all students who enrolled in the Abyss-related majors at Lingquan University were required to attend classes at Scarlet No. 2 Abyss Academy. To meet the needs of academy teachers and students, Scarlet No. 2 even relocated a business district to the newly established academy’s vicinity.
Initially, students resisted the school’s approach, but after the Forbidden Demon Abyss descent incident, they realized they couldn’t stay detached forever and chose to accept the school’s arrangement to study at Scarlet No. 2.
The dormitories at Lingquan University were apartment-style, each student had their own room. Though small, it provided a private space.
Sasa lived in the same dormitory as Zhang Xiaofang. When she returned, Zhang Xiaofang just yawned and walked out of the bedroom.
"Sasa, you’re back?" Zhang Xiaofang smiled at Sasa.
Sasa nodded, "Did you stay up all night doing experiments?"
Helplessly shrugging, Zhang Xiaofang said, "Can’t help it; recently the school higher-ups have given us many tasks. It’s impossible to finish without staying up all night."
Nowadays, Sasa was not part of Li Jiongming’s research team, so she was unaware of these matters.
"By the way, Sasa, do you know? According to calculations by [Tianwen], the Abyss is not far from materializing."
The subject Zhang Xiaofang mentioned caught Sasa by surprise. She was astonished and said, "Explain more."
Zhang Xiaofang smiled slightly, first went to freshen up, and soon came out of the bathroom. She took some bread from the storage cabinet and started eating while explaining to Sasa the matter of ’Abyss Materialization’.
"As you know, many things inside the Abyss are materializing, whether demons or environments. We got a lot of information from the hunters that the Crimson Abyss has started exhibiting some trees that, when cut, do not disappear but directly lie across the roads. This situation not only occurred in the Crimson Abyss but also similar situations arose in other Abysses.
"I remember from the Scorching Sun Abyss over there, quite a few hunters have successfully brought sand out of the Abyss. The [Tianwen] used this information as a basis for calculation and concluded that it’s just another six months until the Abyss will completely materialize."
Sasa was very surprised, "Only six months left?"
The Abyss had been descending on Blue Star for eighty-one years, and now complete materialization wasn’t really a big matter.
But thinking about it more closely, the Abyss first displayed materialization roughly six months ago, shortly after the failed Bright Silver Abyss strategy.
In just over a year, the Abyss went from initial materialization to complete materialization; no matter how you look at it, it’s quite remarkable.
[Tianwen] was the most advanced quantum computer on Blue Star; its calculation results shouldn’t be wrong. Even if there’s an issue, it’s the input data that has the problem.
If the input data is correct, then the calculated results should also be without errors.
Only half a year left before the Abyss completely materializes.
For Blue Star, it’s uncertain whether that’s good or bad.
Abyss materialization means the materialization of demons; if demons leave corpses after dying, can the Abyss still produce those mysteriously effective materials?
Though Sasa had been to Alfheim, where the ’Abyss’ has completely materialized, she wasn’t familiar with Secret Realm-related matters and didn’t know whether elves still obtained mysteriously effective materials after hunting Secret Realm demons.
Currently, Blue Star’s technology heavily relies on materials produced by Abyss demons; if the Abyss cannot produce those materials anymore, it will be a major blow for Blue Star.
Hence, at the request of the United Government, Lingquan University assigned many tasks to Li Jiongming’s team nearest to the Abyss, hoping they could research the Abyss’s future change trends and maintain Lingquan University’s pace with the times.
After chatting with Sasa, Zhang Xiaofang went to change clothes, preparing to continue with her experiments.
Sasa cleaned up thoroughly and returned to her bedroom to lie down.
She looked up at the ceiling, her mind went blank after a long time.
She was in an era of dramatic changes, which was both dangerous and opportunistic.
Sasa thought about leaving her mark in this grand era, letting her name be recognized by the masses.
