Abyss Sequence
Chapter 60 - 29: Blood of Fury
CHAPTER 60: CHAPTER 29: BLOOD OF FURY
"Sasa, what is it like inside the Abyss? Is it the same as the information we’ve seen?"
Zhang Xiaofang donned her lightweight exoskeleton armor and sat beside Sasa, inquiring about the conditions within the Crimson Abyss from the only one among them with firsthand experience.
The two of them, along with two other classmates, sat inside an armored vehicle. The other two students looked at Sasa with curious eyes as well.
Sasa nodded and said, "There’s no daylight in there, no matter how much time passes; it’s always night. A red moon hangs in the sky, and everything around is painted in red. That’s why we need to find goggles that can adjust light color before entering the Crimson Abyss."
They all knew what the Crimson Abyss looked like but had never seen it with their own eyes.
Upon hearing this, a blood-red scene filled the minds of the three students, excluding Sasa, inevitably exuding a sense of danger.
While they idly chatted, the armored vehicle quietly started moving.
The students felt a slight jolt and looked outside the window, realizing that this sizable convoy was heading towards the Abyss Entrance.
Except for Sasa, the hearts of the three students in the armored car leaped into their throats, their muscles tensed and rigid.
The Hunter sitting beside them noticed this, a slight smile curling at the corner of his mouth, as though reminiscing about his inexperienced days, when he was just as nervous entering the Abyss for the first time.
A convoy of twenty-three armored vehicles gradually entered the entrance of the Crimson Abyss, passing through the spatial membrane and arriving at the Crimson Abyss.
[Turn on the spotlights.]
The convoy leader, the captain of the third squad of the Glazed Group, conveyed his voice to everyone in the convoy, though mainly intended for the Hunters driving.
The spotlights mounted on top of the armored vehicles lit up, twenty-three beams of light dispelling the red moonlight.
In large-scale operations, it’s impossible to hide oneself even if one wished, so it is better to swagger openly and transform the environment into one that is familiar.
This is the typical approach for large teams operating in the Abyss.
There were many Hunters in the convoy, with each armored vehicle packed with supplies. The leader was a formidable Sequence Three, making it impossible for even a City-breaking Level Demon to harm the convoy.
Sasa could feel that this was completely different from when Yan Luo had taken her through the Abyss alone.
And she had no idea how Yan Luo was doing now...
......
Yan Luo was not in a good condition right now.
The issue lay with that piece of wolf meat; he felt his muscles contracting all over his body.
Yan Luo finally remembered that it wasn’t actually ’meat’ but a material called ’Frenzy Blood.’
Among the materials that a fierce wolf could produce, the occurrence of Frenzy Blood was rare.
This material looks much like a piece of meat but is actually a coagulation of wolf blood.
The primary use of Frenzy Blood is to manufacture ’Frenzy Serum,’ a concoction for Engravers of the Vajra, Undead, and Frenzy Warrior paths that accelerates cellular division, triggers massive hormone release, and blocks pain perception momentarily.
A single piece of Frenzy Blood can manufacture at least a hundred doses of Frenzy Serum; Yan Luo, however, had gnawed on an entire piece of it.
He hadn’t felt anything before, but now that the Frenzy Blood had been digested, its effects manifested in his body.
If it were just muscle contractions, it wouldn’t be much; Yan Luo had long grown used to enduring pain.
The problem was a tingling numbness emanating from his bones and joints, making him itch all over. If not for the exoskeleton, he might have scratched himself until his skin and flesh were torn apart.
"Ah!!!!!!"
Yan Luo let out a roar, his voice echoing through the layered forest.
Even so, he couldn’t fully vent his emotions.
Pressing the tent’s rapid retraction button, Yan Luo aggressively shoved the tent into the car’s trunk, mounted his motorcycle, his eyes glaring red at the path ahead, grinding his teeth incessantly.
He needed to vent! To use battle to obscure the deep-seated sourness and itch bubbling up from within!
The motorcycle roared and sped through the Dark Forest.
Yan Luo barreled through the forest on his motorcycle, and any Demon he spotted met an inevitable doom.
Soon, the rampaging Yan Luo encountered his first Dangerous-level Demon.
The interwoven dense spider webs stained a patch of forest white like hell, and the motorcycle suddenly crashed into them, tearing apart countless webs.
As the webs accumulating from the collision increased, the bike’s speed unconsciously decreased.
When the speed dropped to 20 kilometers per hour, Yan Luo abruptly lifted the bike’s front, tossing it aside, and pulled out a grappling hook gun, firing at a tree branch above.
The grappling hook shot out and latched onto a spider’s body hidden in the foliage’s shadow.
Yan Luo lifted his gaze, and the winch spun swiftly, yanking the spider from the tree.
A spider as large as a truck tire descended from above. Yan Luo, using no weapons, furiously flung a punch directly at the spider’s maw.
Without diminishing force, he rammed the spider’s body onto the ground.
Releasing his grip on the grappling gun, Yan Luo clenched his right fist and struck powerfully.
The Dangerous-level Demon had barely bounced from the ground when it was punched back down.
Spreading his hands, Yan Luo grabbed the foremost two legs of the spider, kicking its maw squarely, using the momentum to rip those two legs from its body.
The spider was kicked flying, slamming into a tree and falling down.
After landing, the spider let out a terrified hiss, and the remaining legs scurried quickly along the web.
Yan Luo took out a grenade, setting the explosion timer to ’instant,’ and hurled it forcefully.
The grenade broke the sound barrier, soaring above the spider’s position, exploding with a roar.
The rupturing air tore apart the webs, knocking the spider from the sky.
Yan Luo dashed forward, crouching to hoist the spider up, swinging its body into a nearby tree trunk.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The spider’s remaining limbs thrashed wildly, entwining Yan Luo’s body, chelicerae rising to bite his arm.
But Yan Luo’s arm was protected by the exoskeleton, rendering the spider’s bite futile.
"Heh! Hahaha! Hahahahaha! Hahahahahaha!"
Yan Luo, indifferent and manic, laughed wildly, relentlessly swinging and smashing the spider’s body, repeating this dozen times, forcibly tearing the spider’s prosoma and abdomen apart.
The abdomen severed from the prosoma, suddenly flying off. Yan Luo glanced at it, then opened the metal respirator, his wide-open mouth getting closer to the spider’s six eyes.
Crunch!
Yan Luo bit down, heedless of the bristles on the spider, crushing the exoskeleton and swallowing it whole.
After a few bites, the spider’s already precarious life came to an end, its body shattered, transforming into a chelicera fallen to the ground.
Yan Luo bent down to pick up the chelicera, walked to the motorcycle, casually tossed it into the spatial device, tore off the webs entwined on the motorcycle, and throttled the bike back into action.
The tingling and itching growing within his bones stimulated his nerves and brain, as if something was growing, making it hard for Yan Luo to calm down and pause.
The impulse within took form as laughter escaping his throat, adding a touch of madness to the cold and damp forest.
As this madness spread in the Dark Forest, numerous Demons met their end at Yan Luo’s hands.
Be it harmless, ordinary, or Dangerous-level Demons, none survived once they encountered Yan Luo.
As the saying goes, you can’t walk by the river without getting your shoes wet.
After slaughtering hundreds of Demons with reckless abandon, Yan Luo finally crossed paths with a Lethal-level Demon.
He felt his backpack, realizing the explosives were long gone, and there weren’t many bullets left either.
But, so what?
"Heh! Hahaha!"
A hint of madness danced in his brows. Yan Luo twisted the throttle, charging at the Lethal-level Demon.
"Demon, DIE!"
