During the time of evening as Hughes moved around the mansion, still bothered about what she had seen earlier.

She had confined herself in Barnaby, asking him for a solution but his answer was still the same.

"Don’t do anything that would cost your life, Hughes. Let the master handle his business. All we have to pray for right now is a change of heart." Barnaby said as he moved around the bookshelf at the time.

They all knew their master was like this. Vile and evil. A pretentious monster. But they had thought that maybe, Penny would be the one to change his sick twisted mind.

Now Penny had become another pawn in his wicked game. It turns out she was only here to satisfy his sexual desires and fantasies. Nothing more.

To think her master never loved their madam and they had all been wrong.

Hughes’ step was quick as she matched through the halls. She needed to tell Penny about everything. She didn’t care if her mistress would never believe her, all she needed was doubt.

Once doubt is created between them, Penny would have to look out for herself and the next Adkins heir.

"Hughes." A voice came from behind and when Hughes turned around, she saw Barnaby at the end of the hall.

"You scared me." Hughes hissed.

"Master wants you in the lab immediately," Barnaby announced and started walking away and Hughes followed suit.

She wondered why Osvaldo suddenly wanted her there at this time of the day.

When Hughes reached the lab, she shut the door and was about to step further in, when something flew past her ears. The sound was loud as it banged against the door, but it wasn’t as loud as the sound she heard in her ears.

She touched her ears to feel something wet and when she checked her hands... Hughes’ eyes turned wide.

"M... Master." She fell to her knees.

"Don’t think because you raised me I wouldn’t be able to kill you, Hughes." Osvaldo’s voice sounded from the other end of the lab.

He was in his lab coat, his golden eyes staring lazily at his stubborn housekeeper.

"You might be my Penguins’ favorite. But you can be replaced." He said calmly. All he needed to do was erase Penny’s memory and she would never remember a maid like Hughes existed.

"Now tell me..." He dawdled as if playing with his words.

"What happened to the other tea I gave you to give to my Penguin?" Hughes broke down at his question. She always knew she was going to die one day by her master’s hand.

The very day she promised Dewitt she would stay with his cursed son no matter what, she knew she had signed her life away. But Hughes didn’t want to die without informing Penny and telling her everything she needed to know.

She would make sure she saves Penny and the child even if it would cost her her life.

They needed a place their master will not reach to raise the child. She was going against the richest man in the world.

"Master please!" Hughes cried out.

"I didn’t mean to. I was foolish. I was only too eager to see the chi..."

"... MY CHILD!" Osvaldo’s voice thundered in the lab.

"I decide whether to keep the bastard or not." He said. He didn’t want those little things moving around his penthouse.

He didn’t like them. He hated them. He’ll never have a child. And if his maid thinks she’s sleek, then he’ll kill her. Penny will never bear any child.

He was fine being alone and he was more than willing to leave alone.

The tea he gave Penny this morning had no abortion drugs. He just needed to confirm she was pregnant and she really was. She had begun feeling sick after taking the tea this morning.

It seems his Penguin was really fertile, he would have to destroy and rupture her womb. He didn’t want any children after him. He couldn’t spread the curse his father had placed on him.

He couldn’t father a child through the pain he was going through. His foolish housekeeper has no idea what he was going through each day and night.

She had no idea how many voices screamed in his head all day trying to break free.

She had no idea how many demons he had to fight to be sane for his Penguin.

Penny was the only thing that mattered to him. Everything else was useless to him. He couldn’t lose his Penguin because of a useless child.

Nothing can change his mind about having a child.

But Hughes felt like it wasn’t fair to just go with what he wanted. Penny was human too, with feelings. Osvaldo could ask if she wanted a child or not.

"Spare me, master, I’m so sorry. I got too caught up in my fantasies and forgot I only love to serve you." Hughes cried out. Then she clapped her hands together.

"It’ll never happen again. I will make sure I give her every tea you make to the last. I’ll never stop till we are rid of the abomination in her womb." Hughes said out loud.

"And if you do not keep to your words. I’ll kill you?" He asked to see her nod. Then he smiled.

"Come here." Hughes rose from where she knelt and staggered to her master.

"See, you wouldn’t have gone through this if you had just listened," Osvaldo said calmly as he started cleaning the blood from her skin.

Unfortunately, the knife had cut too deeply under her ears, but this was nothing he couldn’t fix. He started stitching after...
