Penny managed herself out of bed. She had no idea what was happening since she had taken the tea Osvaldo had given her. It had been so tasty and now she felt so sick.

As she walked into the bathroom, she immediately started vomiting.

She had no idea why she was feeling this sick. She would have to get some drugs or maybe tell Osvaldo about it.

Over at the lab,

"What does this herb do?" Hughes asked her master calmly as she watched him mix other chemicals.

"Enhances the symptoms of pregnancy. If she weren’t pregnant, it would have done nothing to her." Osvaldo said calmly not bothering to look at her.

"And this one master?" Hughes pointed at the golden coloured substance in a glass jar.

"It’s more than effective for destroying the child and rupturing her womb. But it would hurt my penguin so I wouldn’t use it first. We need something that can eliminate the bastard and then rupture her womb slowly.

That is why this one is more effective for it." Osvaldo rolled the green substance out of another jar and Hughes nodded.

She was taking note of them all to know which one to give her Miss Penny.

"Instruct the maids to take them to the mansion. That is where my Penguin and I will be living from now on." Hughes’ eyes turned wide.

Osvaldo was isolating her Miss Penny from the rest of them so that he could kill her slowly. Her master was truly crazy, this was insane.

Just to confirm his words, "Is it just the two of you?" Hughes asked to see him nod.

"I don’t need distractions when I work on her." He said calmly.

Hughes almost cried watching him. This man used to be her little boy. A happy kid who used science to help people just like his father. But over the years, he had gotten so dark. He was evil and heartless.

At the moment, Hughes felt like there were really no words to describe the man before her.

"Yes, master." She bowed gently. She knew she needed to get Penny out of there, but how? How does she convince Penny that the man she loves and trusts isn’t all she thinks he is?

Penny was in love with Osvaldo. A woman in love never listens.

The door to the lab suddenly opened with Penelope walking in. She looked even paler and weaker due to the excess vomiting.

"Osvaldo, I don’t know what’s wrong with me." Penny reached out to him and the demon didn’t hesitate to hug her, pulling her close.

Hughes couldn’t understand why her worst enemy was her greatest saviour. Osvaldo’s definition of love was truly strange and she wouldn’t let him destroy Penelope. She’s been through so much already. At least even though he wants to ruin her, she should know about it.

"How do you feel?" Osvaldo asked calmly.

"Sick. And I’ve been vomiting a lot today. I’ll need some drugs, Osvaldo." Penny said calmly.

"You’re here just in time." He smiled his golden eyes shifting to Hughes as he picked out the green herbs already in the jar. He poured a handful into the glass and gave it to his penguin.

"This will help a lot." Osvaldo passed the cup to her and Penny took it.

"Is it bitter?" she asked, watching him give a small nod.

"But it’ll make you feel better."

Penny drew in a deep breath, bracing herself. She lifted the cup and took a tentative sip.

"Blrgh..." The sound escaped her throat as she scrunched her face, the liquid burning its way down. Her nose wrinkled, lips trembling at the taste.

A warm hand slid across her back, firm yet tender, stroking in slow circles. "Easy now," Osvaldo murmured, his voice coaxing as his palm pressed soothingly between her shoulder blades. "Just a little more Penguin. Drink it for me."

Hughes felt like her brain was about to explode but she stayed calm. She couldn’t believe Penny was this blind, but who wouldn’t be?

Osvaldo has never harmed her in any way. He’s always fought and protected her. He’s always shown her that he loved her.

She tried to stop Penny, to give her a little signal to stop taking the drug. She was harming her child, but Penny didn’t look her way and her master’s eyes rested on her watching her every move and reaction.

Penny hesitated, staring into the cup as though it were her enemy but the steady rhythm of his hand on her back gave her the courage to lift it again.

"It’s too bitter." She cried out. She’s never tasted anything as bitter as this before.

"But the aftermath is always so sweet. I know you want to get better my sweet girl."

Just as the rim touched her lips, a sharp knock rattled the door.

Barnaby stepped in and walked over to where his master and madam sat.

"Are you alright Miss Penny?" His eyes shifted to the different liquid on the table and then to Hughes who stood at a corner, her hands and feet vibrating. She laid her hair down for the first time since he’s known her, probably to hide the mark on her face.

"I feel sick, but I’ll be fine," Penny said calmly.

"Thank you." She added.

"Alright. Master, the Adkins lawyers are here to see you." Barnaby announced.

"Tell them I’m caring for my Penguin, they can come back tomorrow." Osvaldo waved him off.

"I’m fine Osvaldo, you can go to them," Penny said calmly.

"Hughes can take me back to the bedroom. I’ll be fine once I rest." Penny smiled.

"M... Miss Penny, why doesn’t Barnaby take you to your room, I still have this lab to clean." Hughes laughed at her words.

"Take her to the bedroom Hughes. Come with me, Barnaby." Osvaldo suddenly said then he turned to his Penguin.

"I’ll be back before you know it." He pressed his lips on her forehead, eyes moving to his housekeeper giving a silent warning before stepping out.

"You’re a bit strange today Hughes, did you change your hair?" Penny asked Hughes who said nothing.

"How are you feeling Miss Penny?" She asked. It’s quite unfortunate that she could do little to help Penny. Hughes felt so useless for the first time in years.
