Accidenttal One Night Stand with My Aloof Uncle
Chapter 313: The Scapegoat 3
CHAPTER 313: CHAPTER 313: THE SCAPEGOAT 3
Lily Grant was visited by Isabella Gray and Mr. Morgan.
Neither of them brought their household servants, carrying quite a few things in their hands.
Without thinking, Lucas hurried over and took the items into his own hands.
"How’s Chloe?" Isabella didn’t waste any time and handed all the things to Lucas.
She reminded him, "Be careful, there’s chicken soup I brought for Chloe in here. That child, ever since she got sick, she’s been losing weight, almost as thin as a bamboo stick."
As Isabella spoke, she headed towards Chloe’s ward.
Halfway there, she suddenly stopped, turned back to look at Lucas, and frowned, "I’m asking you a question, why are you acting like a mute? Usually you can talk so much, why are you silent now?"
Lucas looked up at Isabella and sighed with slight helplessness.
"Mom, I have something I want to talk to you about."
As soon as he spoke, Isabella was a bit taken aback.
After all, since Lucas started middle school, he hadn’t addressed her as "Mom" so properly.
And judging by his look... he seemed preoccupied with worries.
Poor thing must have really encountered some trouble.
Previously, he defied the family’s opposition and stubbornly refused to join Morgan Group, insisting on starting his own gaming company.
Because Mr. Morgan strongly opposed, when Lucas founded the company, Mr. Morgan put up some obstacles.
Not only did he forbid Matthew from helping, but he also secretly sabotaged. When Lucas started the company, he was utterly isolated, besieged from all sides.
But back then, he persevered.
He didn’t utter a single word of concession.
Let alone now, with him looking so heavy-hearted and solemn.
Isabella blinked, and finally walked over, took the items from Lucas’s hands, and handed them all to Mr. Morgan.
"You take these inside first, I need to talk to him." Isabella instructed.
Mr. Morgan glanced at Lucas, "Big man, what’s taking so long with this issue..."
Before he could even complain, Isabella shot a look at him, prompting Mr. Morgan to quickly take the items inside.
So many unnecessary words.
Once Mr. Morgan entered the ward, Isabella reached out and pulled Lucas by the arm, leading him towards the adjacent corridor.
Once in a deserted corner, Isabella directly pressed Lucas onto a chair.
She stood before him, "Is it about Lily?"
As soon as Isabella spoke, Lucas was startled.
He looked up at his mother in astonishment.
Clearly, he hadn’t said anything yet, but Isabella had already hit the nail on the head.
So it was...
Isabella sighed, turned around, and sat beside Lucas.
She reached out, holding Lucas’s hand in hers, squeezing it tightly, letting out another sigh.
She said, "From childhood to now, you and your brother have always been completely different, never making us worry-free. The one causing trouble was you, the one fighting was you, the one skipping classes and womanizing was still you... never a single decent form, all these years, your dad and I didn’t know how much worry we’ve expended on you.
Before, you insisted on starting a company no matter what, and later you did well, the company got on track. I thought you finally let me breathe easy, but I didn’t expect..."
Isabella expressed these words with deep helplessness.
"You and Dad never agreed with me being with Lily." Lucas chuckled bitterly, reclining against the back of the chair, seeming quite relaxed, "Actually, from the start, I never thought about anything with her. It was just because of Chloe..."
