"You bastard, how dare you ask me what you’ve done?" Mr. Grant grabbed the mop nearby, broke it, and chased after Chloe Grant, ready to hit her.

Chloe kept dodging, but still got hit several times.

"What exactly did I do?!"

After taking four or five hits, Chloe finally couldn’t stand it anymore and shouted.

Mr. Grant, furious, threw down the stick in his hand, "What did you do? I just want to ask you, did Lucas leave the engagement party because of you?"

Chloe paused.

The day of Lucas Morgan’s engagement party was the day she was brought out of the mental hospital.

It did have something to do with her, but not mainly!

"You bastard! I couldn’t believe that after all these years of not controlling you, you would do something so outrageous! You instigated someone to leave the engagement party, and you also instigated Lucas Morgan to force Lily Grant to terminate the pregnancy. How could you do such a vicious thing!"

Mr. Grant was so angry that the veins on his forehead bulged, and he was filled with rage.

He picked up the stick again, "Today, I’ll just beat you to death to stop you from harming others!"

As Mr. Grant spoke, he swung the stick at Chloe once more.

Chloe quickly dodged, "Where did you hear that I instigated Lucas to do such a thing?"

Chloe’s gaze directly locked onto Lily Grant.

Lily stood up from the sofa, clutching her stomach, tears streaming down, "I beg you, if you want to be with Lucas, I can make it happen for you, but don’t touch my child! I’m begging you!"

Lily pleaded tearfully and emotionally.

"Damn it!" Chloe was dumbfounded and cursed.

At that, Mr. Grant’s stick swung again and landed heavily on Chloe’s arm, making her nearly unable to stand from the pain.

The wound from the car accident on her arm had just healed, and this blow made it feel like her arm was about to break.

However, Mr. Grant showed no sign of stopping and was about to hit her again with the stick...

"Enough!"

"Do you know why I got into a car accident? Do you know what I went through in the days surrounding Lucas and Lily’s engagement?" Chloe asked in return, tears welling in her eyes.

It was filled with despair and heartbreak.

Mr. Grant naturally had no answer to her questions, and Chloe didn’t expect him to answer.

"From childhood to adulthood, whenever something happened, you only blamed me, scolded me, and assumed it was my fault. But when I am clearly not at fault, I still have to face your blame and stifle all my grievances. Why should I?"

"From childhood to adulthood, other people’s parents are afraid their children will suffer grievances or be bullied. But my parents, they’re just afraid I won’t get any grievances or hardship."

Tears fell from her eyes, and when they dropped onto her swollen right cheek, it stung sharply.
