Addicted After Marriage: Marrying My Abstinent Boss
Chapter 151: Unashamed Love
CHAPTER 151: CHAPTER 151: UNASHAMED LOVE
The yard was adorned with string lights in warm yellow, and a bonfire was burning in the center with a roasted whole lamb. Their relatives and friends filled the surrounding seats.
She kept receiving flowers, so many that she could barely hold them all.
She only stopped once she arrived in the yard.
Sophia Lowell looked at the man in front of her holding a tulip, and she burst into laughter as tears silently streamed down her face.
"What are you guys doing? I’m all sweaty, haven’t even put on makeup, look so ugly..." Sophia muttered.
Zane Sterling stepped forward, indulgently wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes, and handed the flowers to her.
"You’re beautiful no matter what, happy birthday, Sophia," he said.
Sophia raised her eyes to look at him, today was her birthday, she had forgotten, but he remembered.
The song "Happy Birthday" began to play.
Everyone started clapping and singing along.
Zane pinched her cheek and gently kissed the corner of her lips.
Sophia was no longer shy; she cried tears of joy.
When the song ended, everyone quieted down.
"Make a wish," Zane said.
Sophia nodded, and Hugh Irving quickly took the flowers from her hands and walked away hugging them.
She closed her eyes, clenched her fists together, her lips pulled into a smile, her eyes brimming with tears, and silently made an unknown wish.
Beau Morgan sat among the crowd, watching the scene. Her lips curled into a genuine smile. She felt envy, but there was something in her heart that seemed to settle down, calm and undisturbed.
Many people just found out now that Zeke Lowell was Sophia’s grandfather.
With this relationship alone, Sophia’s status was different, not to mention her excellence, her background was powerful, and being with Zane was a match made.
Beau Morgan was really no match.
Sitting nearby, Colby Jennings crossed his legs, watching Beau Morgan’s lips as he faintly smiled.
Originally, his task today was to keep an eye on Beau Morgan, to prevent her from causing trouble, but he felt like Beau had let go of something?
"Wow—"
As the crowd exclaimed, Colby Jennings turned his gaze to the main character of today.
As Sophia Lowell opened her eyes, she saw the man kneeling in front of her, holding a red velvet box with a sparkling pink diamond that refracted colorful lights under the lamps.
"Sophia Lowell, marry me," the man’s deep eyes were full of earnestness.
Everyone held their breath.
Sophia’s heart skipped a beat.
She recalled everything about them.
Since their absurd night, since receiving the red certificate, since he said he loved her, Sophia thought they would simply continue living like this.
Unexpectedly, this man later gave her everything a young woman should have.
Zane’s love was blatant.
No one knew when today’s plan started, everyone knew, except she was the last to realize.
He even invited her girlfriends from abroad back.
"I do..." she cried, extending her right hand.
Everyone began to cheer and crowd around.
Zane’s lips curled up. He carefully took the ring from the box and slipped it onto her ring finger.
"From today, you can’t cry anymore. If you cry, it’s my fault," he said, standing up and hugging her tightly.
Everyone around them approached, surrounding them layer by layer.
Beau Morgan smiled faintly, stood up, and quietly left the scene when no one noticed.
And Colby Jennings followed behind her.
"You should go home, stop following me. I won’t cause trouble, I’m just too tired and want to go home and sleep," Beau Morgan let go.
Colby Jennings could see it.
He said, "I’ll take you home."
Beau Morgan stood by the car, looking at him, "Director Jennings..."
"On the way." Colby Jennings.
Beau Morgan said nothing more.
"Give me the car keys." Colby Jennings reached out.
Beau Morgan hesitated for a moment but still handed him the keys.
Both got into the car simultaneously.
"Since you liked him, why not pursue him sooner? You had the advantage; you should’ve acted earlier." Colby Jennings started the car.
"He doesn’t like me, even if I stripped naked and lay beside him, he wouldn’t spare me a glance," Beau Morgan responded indifferently.
She said, "On the day I lay in the hospital, his eyes told me that even if the sky fell, as long as he was around, his woman would never be bullied by anyone. Initially, I thought it was laughable, thought there might still be a chance to strive for.
Later, I realized that life isn’t the same with everyone; even if I’m excellent, if he doesn’t like me, he wouldn’t be happy."
"What do you think of Sophia Lowell?" Colby Jennings asked.
"Everyone has different views, can’t judge."
Actually, Beau Morgan wanted to say she’s pretty good, but she didn’t want to admit in front of others that Sophia Lowell was truly remarkable.
Colby Jennings said nothing more, after taking her home, he took a taxi back to the stable.
Upon arriving at the stable, he saw a car approaching that looked familiar.
To his surprise, once he got out of the taxi, he looked closely and truly recognized them.
Today, what a coincidence!
"Mr. Gable," Colby Jennings frowned.
He didn’t like Clay Gable; he was the youngest son of the Gable Family, with his parents gone. Colby felt he was forced to try things out with Nathan Jennings, for the Jennings Family’s backing.
"Director Jennings," Clay Gable naturally knew what he was thinking.
"Why are you here?"
"Passing by," Clay Gable pulled his lips.
He knew Nathan Jennings’s confinement was lifted, messaged Nathan but received no response, even her social circle was blocked.
This little girl was probably angry because he didn’t refuse their marriage, instead suggested trying, and thus upset.
Their circle wasn’t big, only a few people, ask casually, and one could find Nathan Jennings’s whereabouts, so he came along.
Clay Gable didn’t reject Nathan Jennings, nor did he particularly like her, but he came.
He seemed quite eager about marriage.
The broken original family stripped away the little love he had, leaving him longing for someone to wait for him at home, to love him.
And Nathan Jennings seemed a good choice, she couldn’t run away.
"Passing by? Then pass on quickly, hurry back, it’s late, lots of ghosts," Colby Jennings glanced at him.
"Afraid of ghosts, can’t go, might as well sit inside,"
Clay Gable said, then lifted his foot to walk into the yard.
"..." Colby Jennings was speechless for a moment.
This guy seemed unable to understand human speech, it really annoyed Colby Jennings.
"Does that guy look like Clay Gable?" Nathan Jennings sipped Charles Sinclair’s homemade termite wine, already groggy.
Clay Gable just walked into the yard and spotted the little girl in the crowd.
Her cheeks were flushed, holding a lamb leg in one hand and a stainless steel wine cup in the other, staring intently at Clay Gable approaching.
"Help me see, am I drunk? Why do I see Clay Gable, that guy?" Nathan Jennings elbowed Sophia Lowell beside her, who was eating lamb.
Sophia gasped, looked up, and froze.
"You’re not drunk, it’s him," she said.
