Addiction to Temptation: His Mischievous Sweetheart Captivates Him
Chapter 16: Can the Boss Lady Inquire About the Boss’s Whereabouts?
CHAPTER 16: CHAPTER 16: CAN THE BOSS LADY INQUIRE ABOUT THE BOSS’S WHEREABOUTS?
Natalie Vaughn doesn’t have anything she loves obsessively because everything she does is something she enjoys. None of them are particularly special, but each one is quite significant.
Theodore Langdon is in melody rap; his voice is magnetic and exudes deep emotion. Plus, he has that charm of a Sylon actor, making him very popular among young girls. But Natalie Vaughn likes his lyrics more; although he’s young, his words reflect the myriad facets of life.
The real reason Natalie Vaughn fell in love with this bar the first time she came was closely related to Theodore Langdon.
Theodore Langdon initially had some mind to make things difficult for Natalie Vaughn, but upon hearing she was his fan, he instantly blossomed with smiles.
Mr. Thorne’s future wife turned out to be his fan! He absolutely approves of this marriage with both hands and feet! He even began to fantasize that with Natalie Vaughn, one day Mr. Thorne will enjoy his songs.
"Sis-in-law, come, sit."
Theodore Langdon gets up and pulls Natalie Vaughn to sit next to him.
The sudden change shattered the melancholic youth filter that Natalie Vaughn held for him. Being close, she noticed Theodore Langdon’s newly dyed red hair. Indeed, one can’t easily trust a person’s appearance; she had just been thinking about what life experiences allowed Theodore Langdon to write such lyrics.
Theodore Langdon’s calling her sis-in-law surprised the others. Zane Thorne glanced at him but didn’t comment.
Beside him, Felix Langdon pondered Zane Thorne’s reaction, then suddenly raised his eyebrows and smiled, looking at Natalie Vaughn with more seriousness and appraisal.
He’s curious if Zane Thorne accepted this future relationship merely as an obligation from his family? After all, the past events trapped Zane Thorne for so long that even he thought Zane Thorne planned to remain single forever.
So he followed Theodore Langdon’s lead, handing his business card over.
"Sis-in-law, if you ever plan to enter the industry, contact me."
Zane Thorne furrowed his brow, looking at Felix Langdon, a bit confused about his intent. Quentin Donovan snatched the card from him.
"You really are a shrewd businessman, trying to make deals here. Our Nina wouldn’t plunge into that murky pool of showbiz."
Felix Langdon didn’t get offended; instead, he looked at Natalie Vaughn with eyes glimmering with a smile.
Natalie Vaughn matched his gaze for quite a while, confirming he knew about her impressive fan base on her video account.
Initially, she casually uploaded her karate training videos on the website, having practiced for over ten years, which she genuinely loved. Although she didn’t have many fans at first, over time, she built a loyal base, following their requests to make simple karate tutorial videos.
Later, she gradually expanded to fitness videos, and now she’s transitioning into daily vlogs.
Her update frequency is low, but strangely enough, her fans are unexpectedly loyal, largely due to her looks.
Who doesn’t enjoy watching a beauty?
That’s why many advertisers, MSN agencies, modeling companies, and even talent agencies have reached out to her.
Being the boss of a leading entertainment company in the country, Felix Langdon knowing about her account isn’t surprising.
Nevertheless, Quentin Donovan was right; the entertainment industry is a murky pond. She’s not interested in exploring it but ultimately took the card from Quentin Donovan.
"Thank you, President Langdon."
Felix Langdon seemed to have anticipated her response, spreading his hands without regret, leaving only a comment.
"Should you want to explore this pond, with me around, you can see the fish at the bottom clearly."
Quentin Donovan felt baffled, looking at Natalie Vaughn uncertainly.
"Nina, are you seriously considering the entertainment industry?"
As far as he remembers, Natalie Vaughn initially studied fashion design and then switched to business management. How does either relate to the entertainment industry?
Zane Thorne, who had already lit a cigarette, upon hearing this, removed the cigarette from his mouth, turned his head, and also looked at Natalie Vaughn.
Natalie Vaughn didn’t think running an account needed to be hidden, so she simply explained a few things.
Upon hearing about karate, Zane Thorne moved slightly, raising an eyebrow while looking at Natalie Vaughn’s arm, finally understanding. No wonder she played shooting for so long in the afternoon without showing signs of pain or fatigue; turned out she had a foundation.
However... Zane Thorne narrowed his eyes, observing Natalie Vaughn’s slim arms and legs, finding it difficult to imagine how such a slender person would perform karate.
Zane Thorne’s dark, deep eyes always seemed oppressive when looking at people, naturally drawing Natalie Vaughn’s attention. She lifted her gaze to meet Zane Thorne’s eyes directly.
The man paused, retracted his gaze, and spoke to Caleb Lawson, who talked even less.
In a room full of grown men, with unrestricted smoking and drinking, it was bearable at first, but eventually, Natalie Vaughn couldn’t take it anymore.
She left the room, heading to the restroom.
Looking at herself in the mirror, Natalie Vaughn casually tidied her hair, having sorted out some thoughts in her mind.
Like, she still hated the smell of smoke.
Like, she also didn’t fancy the brand of cigarettes Zane Thorne smoked; she just couldn’t say she disliked it.
Like, she simply enjoyed the scent unique to Zane Thorne.
And perhaps...
She and Zane Thorne were basically together now.
Natalie Vaughn perceives emotions clearly; she never had the thought of needing to marry someone she crazily loves. Besides, she always felt it hard to genuinely fall for someone.
So, she doesn’t find it difficult to adapt to the implicitly accepted rhythm within the circle. Moreover, her partner is Zane Thorne, a man who intrigues her greatly.
Exiting the restroom, Natalie Vaughn didn’t head straight back to the room but instead went downstairs to the bar.
She needed to go home tonight, avoiding the scent of smoke and alcohol.
The bartender, upon turning and seeing Natalie Vaughn, had a rather remarkable expression on his face.
Natalie Vaughn smiled, beckoning him over with a finger.
The bartender touched his ear, leaned forward, but didn’t dare get too close this time.
Natalie Vaughn snickered softly, asking.
"Can the boss’s wife inquire about the boss’s whereabouts here?"
Bartender: ...
Seeing his frozen, bewildered expression, Natalie Vaughn laughed.
Brightly, flamboyantly, and so vividly that it seemed to dim out everything around, leaving only her in the spotlight.
The bartender was dumbfounded.
Now, he’s unclear about the relationship between the girl before him and the boss. But, whether it was the white dress she wore before or the black shirt tonight.
Natalie Vaughn stood out gorgeously, especially her eyes, which were captivating.
Many glanced over; Natalie Vaughn knew her beauty well but usually kept it subdued. Tonight, she let it shine without restraint.
Probably because there was something worth celebrating.
It’s just unfortunate that some blind fools still sought to spoil the mood.
The man whom Natalie Vaughn doused with wine last time appeared before her again, accompanied by three or four other men.
The man originally came to regain his face, but upon seeing Natalie Vaughn’s fresh allure, his thoughts shifted.
"If you drink this glass of wine, I won’t bother you anymore."
Natalie Vaughn furrowed her brow at his face, turned and glanced at the bartender.
"Your security isn’t great; how could they let the dogs in?"
Saying that, she raised her chin and looked defiantly at the man.
Crackling, the sound of breaking bottles suddenly rang out.
