Addiction to Temptation: His Mischievous Sweetheart Captivates Him
Chapter 47: Natalie Vaughn Is Chosen by The Langdon Group’s Ace Agent
CHAPTER 47: CHAPTER 47: NATALIE VAUGHN IS CHOSEN BY THE LANGDON GROUP’S ACE AGENT
Damian Quinn twisted the thief’s hands behind his back, looking up at Natalie Vaughn with some surprise.
"Nice moves."
No wonder she didn’t suffer when fighting a group of people that day.
Natalie glanced at the bag in the thief’s arms. It was a newly released style. She couldn’t quite understand how this man dared to steal in broad daylight at a luxury store, especially such a rare item. It was overly brazen.
Within a short time, mall security had arrived, and Damian handed the person over. The man didn’t resist, making everyone relax for a moment.
Unexpectedly, in that short timeframe, the man suddenly kicked at Natalie and spat, cursing loudly.
"Bitch! You’ll die a horrible death!"
Natalie’s brow furrowed as she dodged the kick, quickly raising her hand to shield her face.
Damian instantly subdued the man’s neck.
"What the hell are you doing!"
Phoebe Quinn immediately took out some tissues to wipe Natalie’s hands. Natalie fought the urge to retch and looked up at the man.
His eyes clearly showed immense hatred toward her.
The man was taken away by security, and seeing Natalie dazed in place, Damian rarely explained.
"These people have poor character; because you intervened and they got caught, they took it out on you."
"Really?"
Natalie didn’t want to waste energy on people like this. Besides, she never had any dealings with such people, so she didn’t think further about that odd feeling earlier.
She asked them to go to the restaurant first while she headed to the restroom.
Just as she reached the entrance, a woman hurriedly ran out from inside and bumped straight into Natalie.
"Sorry, sorry."
The woman raised her head hurriedly, showing panic. After seeing Natalie, she paused for a moment and then scrambled away.
Natalie frowned deeply, wondering why she kept encountering such troubling matters all day.
After washing her hands over ten times, Felix Langdon’s call came in. Only then did Natalie know that Zane Thorne had gone to Altara today.
"Sis, are you free tomorrow?"
Natalie was somewhat surprised.
"What’s up?"
"It’s about Theo’s karate video. Since he has other business activities lately, if possible, we’d like to invite you to the company to discuss the video upload and promotion issues."
Natalie’s eyes slightly moved.
Damian was right; though she couldn’t directly ask about past events, she could start with those close to Zane, and among Zane’s brothers, Felix was a good choice.
"Sure, I’ll visit your company tomorrow afternoon."
Natalie hung up the phone and pulled up Zane Thorne’s WeChat from her contacts.
Zane doesn’t like using this kind of communication software; he directly calls for any issues, so WeChat is merely something decorative for him.
Both his avatar and Moments are overly simple, almost like a robot’s side account.
Natalie wasn’t sure about her own action. She didn’t intend to actively message Zane and didn’t know what to send him either.
Between the two of them, calling them an engaged couple sounded less accurate than calling them life partners.
Staring at the blank chat background for a long while, Natalie turned off her phone.
...
The next day, a red Jaguar F-TYPE parked under Langdon Entertainment’s building.
Langdon Entertainment has many big-name stars. Luxury cars appear downstairs often, but most are low-key and restrained, so this unusually flashy car drew quite a bit of attention when it stopped.
As the car door opened, what first came into view were a pair of long legs in shiny black leather boots. The woman wore a black spaghetti strap jumpsuit, her hair styled in a classic French lazy wave cascading over her shoulders, complementing the striking red lips beneath her black sunglasses.
The attire wasn’t remarkable, but the woman’s outstanding demeanor made it impossible to look away.
Her straight nose bridge, playfully petite nose tip, lent a hint of aloofness. The slightly raised chin and slender neck created an elegant shoulder line, combined with the vibrant red lips, resulted in an exceptionally radiant appearance.
Two conflicting traits somehow blended perfectly in one person.
Yet when the woman removed her sunglasses, revealing those moist peach blossom eyes, she exuded an additional fragile vulnerability.
How peculiar indeed.
Often busy scolding unruly newcomers over the phone, Zoe Chandler halted upon seeing the woman at the main entrance, disregarding the apologies from the other end, and abruptly ended the call.
Having been in the entertainment industry for over a decade and serving as an agent for almost ten years, Zoe considered herself sufficiently experienced, yet upon seeing the figure at the door, she realized her own ignorance.
With almost one glance, Zoe knew this person was surely someone who could become a nationwide sensation.
Driven by her instincts as an agent, Zoe had already approached the woman.
"Hello, Miss, I’m Zoe Chandler, an agent with Langdon Entertainment."
Speaking, Zoe retrieved a business card from her bag.
Natalie’s brows furrowed. Not particularly pleased, she stared absentmindedly at the card.
Since witnessing Zane Thorne’s driving skills at the racing club, Natalie consciously drove more, her temperament not being the gentle type. Even though her skills weren’t great, her driving was still fast, resulting in frequent road frictions.
She nearly had a rear-end collision coming over today.
Natalie simply couldn’t fathom. Despite quickly grasping other areas of learning from a young age, why was driving the exception?
"Miss?"
Seeing Natalie silently frowning, Zoe couldn’t help but speak again.
Though she wasn’t the top agent in the industry, she was a Langdon ace, and it wasn’t an exaggeration to say anyone interested in entertainment circles would know her name.
But this woman . . . she seemingly doesn’t know her. Probably not someone from the entertainment circle.
Doesn’t that mean she still has a chance to introduce her to Langdon Entertainment?
Realizing this, Zoe felt a burst of joy.
Natalie finally fixed her gaze on the woman in front but hadn’t yet begun a thorough appraisal when Theodore Langdon came downstairs to greet her.
"Sis, this way!"
Theodore Langdon waved while jogging towards Natalie.
Zoe primarily managed film artists and didn’t know Theodore well but recognized his face as he was the boss’s brother.
Sis?
Zoe’s eyes widened, glancing at Natalie.
This stunning woman is President Langdon’s wife?
But when did President Langdon marry?
A few years ago, wasn’t President Langdon still entangled with someone?
Suddenly, various questions surfaced in her mind. Zoe, having mixed around in the circle for so long, quickly composed herself and looked at Theodore Langdon.
Only then did Theodore notice Zoe, also noticing her business card. Understanding dawned, he mischievously gazed at Zoe.
"Ms. Chandler, why target your sights on my sister-in-law?"
Zoe gave a soft smile, looking at Natalie.
"This Miss is too beautiful, unmatched in the industry. I’m sure if she enters, she’ll absolutely stand at the pinnacle domestically."
Natalie’s eyes slightly moved, the gloom in her heart eased somewhat due to the sincere compliment. She nodded in greeting to Zoe and finally accepted the card from her hand.
Zoe’s eyes lit up. Before she could ask if Natalie was interested in entering the industry, Felix Langdon already approached from downstairs.
Then she heard her boss address the woman in front.
"Sis."
Zoe: ?????
Zoe’s eyes widened again.
So, this beauty isn’t President Langdon’s wife?
