Addiction to Temptation: His Mischievous Sweetheart Captivates Him
Chapter 90: Zane Thorne’s Wicked Thoughts
CHAPTER 90: CHAPTER 90: ZANE THORNE’S WICKED THOUGHTS
Natalie Vaughn ultimately did not choose a sports car, but instead selected a motorbike with a silver body.
She didn’t believe that she lacked talent for driving four wheels, so why should two wheels be any different?
Zane Thorne was a bit surprised by her choice.
"Are you sure you want to choose this?"
"Sure."
"Do you know how to ride it?"
"Nope."
Natalie replied matter-of-factly and confidently.
Zane had planned to add a few more safety measures after Natalie made her choice, at least to protect her life while she was recklessly speeding. He didn’t expect her to choose a motorcycle.
"You don’t know how yet you chose this?"
"Mm, it looks good."
Ever since she heard Felix Langdon mention at the mountaintop that Zane’s ex-girlfriend was into motorbikes, Natalie had secretly planted a seed in her heart. She wanted to try experiencing the thrill brought by speed through her own efforts.
Just when she was worried about how to get a more professional bike, Zane showed up. Of course, Natalie didn’t plan to tell Zane her intentions. She wanted to work hard in secret and then astonish everyone.
Motorbikes are highly dangerous; without professional training, and without a license, one cannot hit the road. With this thought, Zane nodded.
"Consider this an extra gift; pick another one."
Given Natalie’s driving skills, he really couldn’t feel at ease. He had thought of gifting her a car long ago. With his modifications, unless she was foolish enough to collide head-on with a truck, there would be no issues with her safety.
Natalie found Zane a bit odd. Why was he suddenly being so nice to her? Was this the difference between being married and not being married?
No wonder Felix said that just the title of Mrs. Thorne could bring her much. Whether Zane had feelings for her or not, she was guaranteed to receive plenty.
Natalie suddenly sighed. Excluding her interest in Zane, he really was a qualified partner for an alliance. Of course, if it wasn’t for this interest, she wouldn’t have obediently followed her family’s intentions.
One could only say that everything happening was intertwined with the word fate.
And fate, besides being destined by the heavens, also involves human actions.
Natalie thought she should properly thank James Vaughn, thank him for knowing her preferences so well, and thank fate for allowing him to meet Zane in Altara.
After finishing their selections, they left this paradise for automobile enthusiasts.
Aside from the cars, the design of this villa was unique, as if it was born for Zane. Because Natalie noticed that Zane’s oversized bedroom offered a view of the cars on the entire second floor.
And within this nearly two hundred square meter bedroom, there was a dedicated wine cabinet.
If lonely and bored at night, one could sit by the window drinking wine while admiring the priceless sports cars in their collection.
Zane truly knows how to enjoy life; he infused his passion into every corner of his life, requiring not only financial resources but also endless thought.
Natalie asked.
"Did you specifically find someone to design this villa?"
If so, it meant Zane bought some land himself and then obtained permission to build a home - this involves not only money but also connections with the government.
Zane took a bottle of red wine, picked up a freshly placed wine glass, and sat by the window on the ground. He gestured for Natalie to sit beside him and poured her a glass.
"I had Carter Chapman handle it."
Natalie took a sip of the wine; it had a rich aroma. Even the wine was exceptional.
"Carter Chapman?"
"He’s been abroad lately; I’ll introduce you when he returns."
If Natalie knew anything about architecture, she would be more surprised; Zane actually knew a rising star in the field.
This is much more challenging than acquiring land to build a villa.
"You seem to have many friends."
"Carter also occasionally plays with cars, I consider myself his mentor."
Upon hearing this, Natalie’s eyebrows slightly raised.
"You take on apprentices?"
Zane lowered his eyes, gazing at the brightly lit second floor where the cars he’d painstakingly selected were displayed.
Five years, five long years away from the racetrack indeed.
He needed to find something to do.
God Thorne’s reputation is not only significant in the domestic racing scene, but even the international circles are aware of this amazing figure from Cinnabar; within these five years, many came to see him.
Some wanted to know the reason for his retirement, others wanted to compete with him, and there were still those seeking a bit of guidance.
His acquaintance with Carter was sheer coincidence.
That day, he was in a good mood and drove to the mountaintop often frequented by racers for training and fun, watching the racing enthusiasts enjoying friendly competition. In his view, everyone’s skills were too unrefined, and Carter was definitely the most novice among them.
Known as the lamest of the lot amidst a group of amateurs.
He disliked being asked to do things; anything he decided to do would be of his own volition.
No one could imagine that after being asked multiple times without success, Zane voluntarily chose to teach a talentless beginner relying only on diligence.
"It’s all just casual teaching."
Natalie curved her brows.
"Then could you casually teach me?"
"You?"
The man lazily lifted his eyes to glance at her, then shook his head.
"No way."
"Why not?"
"Your skills are too terrible."
Natalie: ...
"That’s why I need you to teach me."
Zane chuckled softly.
"I don’t teach women."
"That’s gender discrimination!"
Upon hearing this, Natalie’s heart was somewhat delighted; no teaching women meant he hadn’t taught Shannon Rhodes either?
"Additionally, I’m not just any woman, I’m your wife!"
Zane raised an eyebrow, nodding.
"True."
"So, you agree?"
Zane’s eyes gleamed with amusement, watching Natalie’s excited expression, he couldn’t resist raising a hand to tap the tip of her perky nose.
"My tutoring fee isn’t cheap; can you afford it?"
"There’s a fee? Between husband and wife there’s no need to be so precise, right?"
"Some distinctions must be made."
"How much do you want? I have money too."
Natalie pretended to punch Zane playfully as she spoke; she wasn’t lacking money as the Vaughn family’s eldest daughter!
Zane swirled his wine glass, downed it all in one go, and poured another.
The red wine slowly flowed to the bottom of the glass, blending with the enchanting night, enticing and alluring.
The man’s voice was deep, tinged with bits of amusement.
"I’m not short of money."
"Then what do you want?"
Natalie’s tolerance for alcohol wasn’t great, in her eagerness she drank a few messy sips, and as the effects kicked in, her eyes started to blur.
Zane studied her for a long while.
Watched until Natalie accidentally burped, interrupting the slightly too intense gaze.
The man’s Adam’s apple moved up and down, raising his head for another drink.
"Haven’t thought of it yet, I’ll tell you when I do."
Natalie scrunched her nose.
"Then remember to tell me."
Her voice already turning softer; Zane realized Natalie was close to getting drunk.
He had deliberately chosen an aged bottle of wine, and with her drinking capacity, she’d surely be tipsy after one glass.
He admitted he was a bit mischievous.
Wanting to see the young woman drunk in his domain.
Then to have her rely on him, trust him, call him husband.
Whatever he said she’d comply.
Men’s hearts are a needle in the sea.
