CHAPTER 18: CHAPTER 18: I DON’T INTEND TO ACKNOWLEDGE YOU AS MY BROTHER EITHER

"Fifth Brother, let it go, I don’t want you and sister to argue because of me..."

Seeing Niall Everett stand up straighter due to Serena Everett’s words, Cassia Everett’s face turned instantly unhappy. Niall had always been fearless, a little tyrant, not even listening much to Jocelyn Sterling or Ivan Everett. Yet now, he listens to Serena!

She was fuming inside, but her face remained kind and innocent. "Sister, let me put your helmet away for you. You didn’t come back all night yesterday, you must be very tired. Go rest first!"

"But sister, you can’t do this again. You just returned to Imperia, unfamiliar with the place. It would be bad if you encounter any danger!"

On the surface, her words seemed fine, but they subtly hinted that Serena was reckless, staying out all night.

Sure enough, Niall looked even more displeased, his brows furrowing tightly.

Cassia’s lips curled slightly without showing it, reaching out to take the helmet from Serena’s hand.

"Don’t touch."

Serena disliked others touching her belongings. A cold glance swept over, involuntarily sending chills down one’s spine.

"Sister, I just wanted to hold it for you. I didn’t know you disliked me so much..." Cassia’s body trembled slightly, pretending to be scared.

"I do find you quite annoying. Stay away from me in the future."

Cassia was choked by her bluntness, her face changing. Immediately, her eyes turned, quickly reddening, her voice fragile and pitiful.

"Fifth Brother, I never thought sister would dislike me so much. If she really does, I won’t stay any longer to be a nuisance. I’ll move back to the old house to accompany Grandpa..."

Cassia played on Niall’s emotions, knowing he valued relationships, deliberately acting pitiful in front of him.

With a sad face, she was about to go upstairs to pack her things and leave. As expected, taking just one step, Niall stopped her.

"Cassia, don’t go. This is also your home; no one can drive you away!"

As his words fell, Niall turned sharply towards Serena, full of fury. "I’ll tell you, don’t think you can do whatever you want since you’ve been away for years. If you dare bully Cassia again, I won’t acknowledge you as my sister!"

"Oh." Serena responded lazily, not even looking up. "I wasn’t planning to acknowledge you as a brother anyway."

"You..."

Niall was about to explode, but for some reason, when he met her eyes, his momentum uncontrollably weakened.

Serena, on the other hand, couldn’t be bothered to waste more time with them and walked towards the second floor with her long, straight legs.

He was ignored!

Was there really someone more outrageous than the Little Tyrant of Imperia?

Niall got even angrier, roaring, "Stop right there!"

Serena’s exquisite eyes lazily lifted, but her steps didn’t stop. Still daring to yell at her now, she thought, just wait until she makes him practice five more hours!

Watching Serena’s unwavering back, Niall angrily threw the ten prepared gifts into the trash can.

"I’m so angry, I’d rather throw them in the trash than give them to her!"

...

Inside the room.

Serena changed out of her clothes from yesterday, took a comfortable shower, and came out wrapped in a towel.

Instinctively reaching for her neck, she realized something was missing.

The Peaceful Fortune her grandmother left her was gone...

Serena’s indifferent expression instantly turned serious, her red lips pressed tightly together, recalling what happened yesterday.

She remembered that before drinking, the Peaceful Fortune was still on her neck, but after drinking, her memories were a blur.

So, the Peaceful Fortune went missing after she got drunk!

Serena lowered her eyes, took out her phone, and found the man’s WeChat.

[Did you see something I wore around my neck yesterday?]

He responded quickly.

[I think I saw it.]

Seeing this reply, Serena’s tense heart relaxed slightly. Just as she was about to reply, a video call came through.

"Kiddo, is this what you are referring to?"

As the video call connected, she was met with the man’s devilishly handsome face. He wore a faint smile on his lips, making him even more beguiling.

His slender, jade-like fingers held an old Peaceful Fortune, clearly worn for a long time.

"That’s the one!"

Serena spoke urgently but suddenly noticed the man in the video look away, his ears turning slightly red.

Serena belatedly realized that she had just come out of the shower, wearing only a towel.

The towel was tightly wrapped around her, perfectly outlining her curvaceous figure.

Damian Quinn lowered his captivating peach blossom eyes, his gaze dark and deep, as his Adam’s apple moved up and down.

This young girl really knew how to torment...

"I’ll bring it back to you next time we meet."

Hearing the man’s husky, magnetic voice, Serena also felt her ears inexplicably heat up, nodding in agreement softly.

"Mm."

After hanging up the video call, Damian Quinn gently caressed the Peaceful Fortune in his hand, noticing the two words embroidered on it. He whispered them softly, his smile deepening.

"Serena..."

Sherman’s troubled voice suddenly came from outside the office.

"Old Mrs. Quinn, Master Damian is working; you can’t go in..."

"I don’t care what he’s doing. No one can stop me; I want to see him! If anyone dares to stop me, I’ll fire them!"

Hearing Old Mrs. Quinn’s voice outside the door, Damian Quinn’s eyes slightly narrowed and put away the Peaceful Fortune.

"Damian!"

At the door, Chase Sherman obviously couldn’t stop Old Mrs. Quinn. She stormed in, "I heard you’re going to the Everett Family to break off the engagement soon? Is that true?"

Knowing he couldn’t keep this from his grandmother for long, Damian nodded and admitted, "Yes, Grandma, I’ve already decided."

Originally, the engagement was supposed to be called off at the banquet, but the Everett Family’s lady left early.

Hearing this, Old Mrs. Quinn was visibly upset, slamming the table, "I don’t agree. This engagement was settled long ago; it absolutely cannot be broken! If you break it off, it will put the Everett Family in a difficult position."

"I will personally apologize to Uncle and Aunt Everett and do my utmost to make amends."

Looking at Damian’s stubbornness, Old Mrs. Quinn’s heart skipped a beat, "Are you truly determined to call off the engagement?"

Damian nodded, his indifferent tone brooking no argument, "Yes, Grandma."

"The young lady from the Everett Family is really wonderful. I’ve met her; she’s an especially good girl. If you break off the engagement with her, you’ll deeply regret it in the future!"

"Grandma, no matter how good she is, I won’t regret it." Damian’s expression remained unchanged, speaking slowly, "I already have someone I like. This engagement must be called off."
