CHAPTER 8: CHAPTER 8: THE GIRL IS PERFECT IN EVERY WAY

Aware that they didn’t have the courage to expose her, Cassia Everett avoided their pleading gazes, her expression growing increasingly grim.

She hadn’t expected that Serena Everett, that wench, would restore the deleted surveillance footage, causing all her plans to come to nothing!

"I’m telling you, what our darling Serena lacks the least is money!"

Jocelyn Sterling was still not satisfied, patting the back of Serena’s hand with concern. With a wave of her hand, the servant behind her brought a safe to her.

Jocelyn opened the safe and took out bundles upon bundles of cash, stuffing them into Serena’s hands.

"Serena, throw this money at him! Let him see clearly who the real pauper is!"

"Serena, I’ll buy up this entire shopping mall right now and give it all to you!"

Ivan Everett was equally furious. Serena was their little princess to be cherished, not to mention wronged. Even harsh words were something they couldn’t bear to say to her.

Yet now these people dared to subject his precious daughter to such humiliation!

Ivan made a phone call, and the mall manager came rushing over with a contract, respectfully handing it to Serena.

"Miss Everett, from now on, all the malls in this area are yours!"

This area was the most bustling part of Imperia, with monthly rents running into the tens of millions.

Jocelyn proclaimed tenderly, "These mall rents are only a few tens of millions each month, which isn’t much, but it doesn’t matter, Serena. Mom will transfer ten million to you every day just for fun!"

This made Cassia Everett seethe with envy. Her monthly allowance was only a few million, but Serena suddenly had assets exceeding ten million!

She had just returned for a day, and Jocelyn and Ivan had given her so much money. Where would her share of the Everett family’s inheritance be in the future?

She absolutely had to drive Serena, that wench, out of the Everett family...

"No need."

Serena shook her head and refused. She wasn’t short of money and, in fact, had more than she could spend.

However, Jocelyn misunderstood her, quickly saying, "Serena, do you think ten million a day is too little? Then how about Mom transfer you fifty million each day from now on?"

"Serena, Dad will also transfer eighty million daily for your amusement!" Ivan quickly chimed in, eager to show his support.

Realizing that if she refused again, they would only increase the amount they transferred daily, Serena’s delicate brows knitted in deeper resignation, "Whatever you like."

She wasn’t short on money, but Ivan and Jocelyn’s unwavering faith in her, without asking anything, choosing to stand by her side, made her feel warmed at heart.

Standing to the side, Cassia Everett was grinding her teeth in frustration. All her scheming hadn’t just failed to trap Serena, it had made her profit unexpectedly, leaving Cassia furious!

...

Hospital.

"I’m fine now; I want to be discharged. Don’t any of you try to stop me!"

Old Mrs. Quinn started clamoring to be discharged as soon as she regained her strength. The doctors and nurses couldn’t hold her back. Just as they were in a bind, a deep, magnetic male voice suddenly sounded.

"Grandmother."

A man, cool and distinguished, strode in with long strides, causing the room’s temperature to plummet and filling others with involuntary unease.

"Your health has just slightly improved, don’t make a fuss."

Seeing Damian Quinn, Old Mrs. Quinn calmed down a bit, sitting up straight with her hands quietly placed on her knees.

"I’m not making a fuss. I must be discharged immediately to find that girl who saved me and properly thank her!"

"You should stay in the hospital to continue recuperating. I’ll have someone find her for you."

Damian Quinn’s tone was indifferent yet carried an undeniable authority.

Understanding his nature, Old Mrs. Quinn knew her chances of discharging were slim, so she pouted and reminded him.

"Damian, you must find that girl who saved me!"

That beautiful and kind girl would make a wonderful granddaughter-in-law! Too bad Damian already had an engagement with the Everett family’s daughter, but thankfully, she still had a younger grandson whose age matched the girl’s. They would make a fine match.

If that girl could become her granddaughter-in-law, she would laugh herself awake even in her dreams!

Just thinking about it brought an uncontrollable smile to Old Mrs. Quinn’s face, which she covered with her hand to stifle her laughter.

"Damian, you have no idea how excellent that girl is. I almost croaked, but thankfully that girl saved me!"

While Old Mrs. Quinn was continuously praising her savior, another face surfaced in Damian Quinn’s mind.

Casually listening, his deep gaze lingered on the unresponsive chat window.

The girl was great in every way, except she was too aloof — still no response to his message...

"Damian, are you even listening to me?"

"Yes, Grandmother," Damian Quinn snapped back to attention, lowered his gaze, and spoke in a deep voice.

"Really, not a word of what I said has sunk in; how did I end up with such a foolish grandson!"

Hearing the fresh lingo spilling from Old Mrs. Quinn’s mouth made Damian Quinn pinch his brow, then he turned to instruct Chase Sherman.

"Make sure Grandmother spends less time online in the future."

"No way! I’m a 5G surfing master — what’s the point of living if I can’t go online?" Old Mrs. Quinn objected immediately, then seemed to remember something, quickly asking, "By the way, Damian, when will you visit the Everett family to meet your fiancée?"

A cold glint appeared in Damian Quinn’s long, deep, almond-shaped eyes as he sternly corrected her, "Grandmother, I have no fiancée."

"Don’t forget, my heart condition just stabilized!" Old Mrs. Quinn, having anticipated his reaction, began threatening him with a whimper, "If you anger me again, it might flare up!"

The helpless look in Damian Quinn’s eyes deepened, and he changed the subject.

"Grandmother, please rest up. I’ll go find your savior now."

As expected, this immediately shifted Old Mrs. Quinn’s focus, and she nodded eagerly.

"Good, good, go find that girl! I gave the Quinn family’s heirloom jade pendant to the girl who saved me. When you find her, Damian, be sure to thank her properly — fulfill any request she has!"

"Understood, Grandmother."

Damian Quinn walked out of the hospital room, his demeanor turning cold and daunting, returning to his usual unapproachable self as he issued a chilly command.

"Once you’ve found the person with Grandmother’s jade, make it your utmost priority to satisfy her requests."

She had saved his grandmother’s life; the Quinn family wouldn’t shortchange her.

Chase Sherman promptly acknowledged respectfully, "Yes, Master Damian."

Damian Quinn reopened his phone, his cold gaze once again settling on the chat window, then ground his back teeth, his chaste, ascetic brows tainted with a mischievous charm.

Fine.

Still not a word from the girl.
