Aether Chronicles: Birth Of A Legend
Chapter 251: Pulse Raced
CHAPTER 251: PULSE RACED
Raegar watched as his grandmother tried her best to hold back the powerful knight. He tried his best to escape, but the binds were sucking Aether from his body like a leech, making them even stronger. He soon stopped when the enemy got the upper hand over Elysia and disarmed her before shoving its blade through her stomach.
His heart dropped, but Griffin’s enraged roar shook everything around them. The big man and Dark Fairy rushed forward, attacking the knight who blocked most blows, but Drusilla’s energy-covered fists slammed into the foe’s chest. The armor absorbed the blow before it headbutted the blonde.
A loud boom echoed out as the Fairy dropped to the ground with a crash. The enemy continued, it kicked her until she fell unconscious, and threw her body through more mansion walls only to be attacked by a red blur as Dominique’a Death Knights appeared. They began fighting as he noticed the five girls were being protected by Yuki and Saki.
Seconds later, the battle erupted in chaos while Raegar was struck helpless. Yuki and Saki danced through the ruined Vaelthorne garden, weaving between deadly strikes aimed at Zahara and Dominique, who stood at the rear. Yuki’s daggers flashed like twin comets, crossing to meet a knight’s thrust.
Sparks exploded, but the force of the blow sent the cat woman hurtling backward, her body skidding across the shattered stone. In a heartbeat, Saki jumped into action, a streak of speed, her claws raking the air as she intercepted the knight’s next strike with a motherly snarl.
Raegar’s jaw tightened, marveling at the older woman’s power. He knew she was Tier Nine, perhaps higher. Their side of the fight surged as Griffin and Elysia stormed back into the fray, their presence a thunderclap of defiance. Zahara knelt beside a battered Drusilla, her hands glowing, but the enemy struck like a viper.
The knight vanished, only to teleport behind Zahara, its armored fist slamming into her stomach with a bone-crushing blow. The Half-Elf gasped, the air torn from her lungs as she crumpled thanks to the force of the punch. Fury ignited in Selene’s eyes, a supernova of rage overtook her.
The Demoness let out a primal roar. She charged, fists a blur of fury for her best friend, each punch landing with the force of a collapsing star. Booms echoed through the chamber, the ground trembling as shockwaves rippled outward. The Death Knights joined her, descending like a tide of vengeance, their blades and fists hammering the knight.
Raegar’s heart pounded, his bloodied hands trembling. Just meters from him, the knight loomed like a harbinger of death. Selene, Griffin, and Elysia faced the thing, wounds pouring with blood from the battle. Behind them, Alaric leaned on his blade, his strength fading, but eyes alight with defiance thanks to the enemy hitting him with several powerful punches.
The knight’s glowing eyes swept over them, mocking, savoring their desperation. Raegar’s stomach churned with dread thanks to a bad feeling welling up inside. Selene struck first, her sword flashing like lightning. She darted forward, a blur of motion, aiming for the chinks in the enemy’s armor.
Her blade sparked against the metal, but the knight barely flinched. With a flick of its hand, a strange force sent her skidding backward, her body slamming into the cracked stone floor. Raegar’s breath caught as the Demoness gasped, clutching her ribs, blood trickling from her lips, yet her yellow eyes blazed.
When seeing this, Griffin roared, charging with his fists raised high. The ground trembled under his heavy steps as he attacked using bone-crushing force, aiming for the strange enemy’s helm. The blow landed, a thunderous clang echoing across the garden, yet the knight’s head barely tilted.
Just then, the knight retaliated, its blade slicing through the air. His grandfather raised his arms to block, but the sheer power drove him to his knees, trembling. A second strike sent him sprawling, blood seeping from a gash across his chest. He growled, struggling to rise, and Raegar’s chest ached at the sight of his grandfather’s faltering strength.
Elysia, her hands glowing, unleashed a torrent of blue flames toward the knight. The fire roared, engulfing the enemy in a blazing inferno, but when the flames cleared, it stood unscathed, its armor glowing faintly as if feeding on her magic. His eyes widened as the knight raised a hand, and a pulse of dark Aether erupted, slamming into his grandmother.
She screamed, her spell collapsing as she was hurled backward, crashing into a shattered pillar. Her body slumped to the ground with a sickening thud, her breaths shallow, her aura dimmed, and his heart sank deeper into despair. The knight advanced, its steps almost playful, as if toying with its prey.
It didn’t attack to kill, not just yet. Its blade lashed out again, catching Selene as she tried to flank. The flat of the sword sent her spinning, crashing to the ground with a cry. Raegar’s voice caught in his throat, his body urging him to act, but his feet remained rooted, paralyzed by the strange Aether holding him in place.
The battlefield was a scene of torment, his family and girls broken but alive, and his dread grew as he realized the enemy was savoring their suffering, prolonging their agony for its cruel amusement. Once everyone was down, it turned to him with glowing red eyes before it approached his badly injured mother.
Raegar’s blood roared in his veins as the truth ignited his soul. It was doing this, to hurt him. His rage surged, a wildfire consuming his fear. Aether swirled around him, air crackling with sparks. His trembling form pulsed thanks to the power, the ground quaking beneath him as if the world itself bowed to his fury.
Victoria stood defiant before the knight, the monster that had left her parents, husband, herself and her son’s lovers broken but alive. Her heart was heavy as she accepted her fate, turning to her youngest child for one last look. When she did that, her breath caught, eyes widening in awe.
Raegar’s body vibrated, a deep hum radiating from him. Aether rushed toward his body, a vortex, greedily pulling in the world’s energy. He blazed with otherworldly light, a beacon in the chaos. The knight raised its massive blade to strike Victoria, its edge gleaming. But in that instant, the world erupted.
A shockwave of raw power exploded from him, the ground fracturing as he shot forward fueled by raw anger and propelled by Fusion Overdrive, a power unseen for generations. His strength soared to unknown Tiers, his aura a supernova that scorched the air. The battlefield trembled, stones humming with his might.
Raegar moved, a streak of lightning too fast for mortal eyes. Twin daggers materialized in his hands, letting out a loud ching. Their edges singing when he appeared before Victoria in a heartbeat. The knight’s blade crashed down, but he met it with a defiant clash, his daggers flaring.
The impact shook the earth, forcing the enemy back, its feet grinding across the ground. Raegar then unleashed a angry onslaught, so fast that everyone couldn’t see him. His daggers wove a deadly dance, striking with the power of a true powerhouse, each blow a thunderclap that echoed across the battlefield.
Thanks to this, the knight staggered. Victoria’s pulse raced, her breath stolen by the sight of Raegar transformed, a young warrior reborn in the crucible of despair. Goosebumps prickled across her skin as he fought, not just for her, but for everyone. Moments later, the air shook, the world itself seeming to rally behind him.
She soon realized the battle was no longer a one sided torment; it was a reckoning, and Raegar was the star of the party. Victoria watched him face the knight who had tormented them. Her body ached, blood seeping from wounds gained during the fight, but her eyes were locked on him, a beacon of hope amidst the chaos.
Following that, she noticed the Vaelthorne garden was now a wasteland, strewn with her family and daughter in laws, all clinging to life, trying to get up but not able to thanks to the damage. The knight had brought them to the brink of despair, but now, Raegar stood defiant, his twin daggers blazing.
He moved like a storm unleashed, a blue blur streaking so fast that the air itself seemed to scream. The knight matched him, a red specter of destruction, its massive blade slicing through the air. They clashed in a whirlwind of light and shadow, their movements a dizzying dance of speed and power.
Sparks erupted as steel met Aether, each blow shaking the ground, the shockwaves rippling through Victoria’s bones. A crimson aura flared, its strikes a blur of devastating force, but Raegar was no longer the boy she’d shielded all those years ago, he was a force of nature. Her breath caught as he spun, his daggers weaving, each strike using power that she couldn’t even fathom.
