Aether Chronicles: Birth Of A Legend
Chapter 294: That’s Amazing
CHAPTER 294: THAT’S AMAZING
Raegar was sitting in front of the window as a snowstorm covered the capital into a white blanket. While resting, Dahlia wrapped her arms around his shoulders before kissing him on the cheek. ’’Morning, handsome. Last night was amazing,’’ she whispered into his ear.
He shivered as her lips brushed against him and reached back, running his fingers along her cheek, replying. ’’It was, my empress.’’
The older woman slapped his arm, giggling. ’’Stop calling me that, it’s Dahlia, beautiful or my love,’’ she warned, wagging her finger at him.
’’Okay, okay,’’ he chuckled. ’’My beautiful Dahlia, is that better?’’
’’Yepp!’’ the empress chirped.
She leaned in, her lips meeting his in a passionate kiss. He reciprocated with equal passion before the brunette gently pulled away, her eyes warm. ’’Would you like some tea?’’ she offered softly.
’’Absolutely,’’ he replied, a smile spreading as he gazed at the older woman.
Raegar settled into the chair, the moment’s warmth lingering, when Dahlia’s voice cut through. ’’The ball is tomorrow. We’ll need to leave the city in a few hours.’’
"Alright," he nodded. "We should get back to the others anyway.’’
Just then, Arthur appeared beside the chair and revealed. ’’The Black Knight has found more Fusion Soldiers, thousands ready to be claims by you, my king.’’
Raegar jumped up at those words, red eyes blazing as he felt his Aether rushing through his body. With a snap his daggers appeared in his hands just as Dahlia appeared, ready for whatever was to come. He glanced at Arthur. ’’In a dungeon or Gate?’’
’’Dungeon, my lord,’’ the Blue Knight answered. ’’Three miles west, hidden in a forest.’’
’’The Blood Sea,’’ Dahlia added. ’’It’s the name of the forest, full of dangerous Tier Eight above beasts.’’
’’Are you coming?’’ he asked the older woman.
She eagerly nodded, hands blazing with Aether as the two of them vanished from the room, rushing across the rooftops of the capital. His blue energy lit up the dark morning sky, alerting every guard in the city. Dahlia followed behind, flying using her magic but was still slower then him.
With a crash, Raegar descended from the heavens, his boots slamming into the earth just beyond the forest. The ground quaked beneath him as his red eyes glowed with Aether as he whispered. ’’Come forth!’’
In an instant, the air shimmered and roared as over two hundred Fusion Soldiers materialized in a blazing arc around him, their armor glinting like molten steel under the fractured moonlight as a red glow radiated from them. Behind him, two towering Fusion Knights appeared like bodyguards.
One blue and the other black. The empress gazed upon the scene, her amber eyes widening in awe. Her breath caught as she saw the powerful knights and soldiers who were glowing with Aether. They were evolving, drawing strength from her lover, whose own power surged like a supernova, fueling the legion before him.
That’s when she heard her lovers next words. ’’Kill them all! Carve a path to the dungeon for me, my soldiers!’’
With a unified roar that shook the trees, the Fusion Soldiers charged into the forest, their blades singing as they carved through monstrous shadows. Hideous beasts, spawned from nightmares, lunged out of the darkness, claws like scythes. The soldiers moved, their strikes lethal and began killing the horrors that plague the forest.
Dahlia was shocked in stillness, she could only watch as the monsters destroyed the Fusion Soldiers they reformed instantly in a blaze of Aether, causing her to mutter. ’’They are invincable.’’
That’s when the main two moved, the Fusion Knights, Raegar’s strongest fighters headed toward the largest abominations with sweeps of their blazing swords, each blow a cataclysm that lit the forest in bursts of fiery splendor. Dhalia’s heart thundered, goosebumps prickling her skin as she watched the battlefield ignite with the raw might of her beloved’s forces.
Her lover was still either, he rushed around the battlefield slicing up powerful Tier Nine monsters while using the trees as springboards. She couldn’t even more apart from to follow behind the dead bodies that started piling up on the forest floor. By the time the fighting came to a stop the place became silent.
Dahlia glanced around only to sense nothing, the only detection she felt was the fleeing monsters in the distance. Moments later, Raegar appeared in front of her, a smile stretching across his face. ’’Sorry about leaving you out of the fighting, beautiful.’’
He moved toward the older woman, grabbing her thin waist. ’’I wanted to test out my power now that we bonded and as you witnessed, it’s grown to new heights.’’
’’That’s amazing,’’ Dahlia finally answered, shaking her head. ’’Sorry I was just surprised by the amount of Fusion Soldiers you have now. It seems to have grown compared to when you returned from the Gate.’’
’’Thanks to us having sex, it seems to have boosted all my powers,’’ he revealed, red eyes glowing with apprieaction. ’’I’m glad we met, Dahlia Dawnfire.’’
’’Blackwood soon,’’ she corrected, a bright smile crossing her face. ’’I don’t mind taking your name, would shock the Lion wouldn’t it?’’
Raegar chuckled when imagining his grandfathers reaction but he refocused on his goal and spoke. ’’We need to clear a dungeon so I can claim more soldiers, they’ll help when I finally take out the corrupted nobles and bandits that infest the empire.’’
’’And if you do that, I’ll suck you dry, my love,’’ Dahlia teased, leaning into him causing her boobs to press up against his arm.
This sent a shiver down his spine but he slapped the older woman’s ass, forcing her to let out a adorable yelp. Following that, the couple continued on only to be stopped when a bright light erupted in front of them. He readied his daggers and Dahlia her magic only to hear a giggle echo out.
Raegar shook his head as the light dimmed, revealing Drusilla, her blue eyes glinting. Shock coursed through him as the Dark Fairy surged forward, enveloping his waist in with her legs. Before he could react, she captured him in a kiss, her tongue exploring his mouth as the moment stretched.
Following that, the blonde broke apart with a big smile as she finally spoke. ’’It’s good to see you, Rae. We wondered what happened only to realize the capital was hit by a dangerous storm.’’
’’Yes we stayed in an inn after being attacked by assassins,’’ he revealed, chuckling as he put her down. ’’Thanks to my knights and soldiers, we was able to win and return to our date.’’
’’Can I have a date next please? Domi and Dahlia were the last two?’’ she asked, voice full of hope.
’’Of course,’’ Raegar reassured. ’’Between taking out noble and bandits, I’ll have enough time to spend with you girls.’’
’’School doesn’t start for another month,’’ Dahlia added. ’’There are many places in the empire that you can take them, Rae.’’
’’We’ll plan it out once we get back to the palace,’’ he responded, looking at Drusilla. ’’Do you want to join us? We need to clear out a dungeon so I can claim more Fusion Soldiers.’’
’’Yes!’’ she instantly exclaimed.
Following that, the trio trailed behind the Fusion Soldiers and Knights killing the monsters that tried to sneak up on them. While walking, he became curious, turned to the Dark Fairy and asked. ’’How did you teleport here?’’
’’Used our bond and my Fairy magic, handsome,’’ she replied, beaming. ’’Thanks to our connection I’m able to teleport to you once a day, if I remember what my parents said when I was a little girl.’’
He nodded as Dahlia revealed what she knew about the blonde’s race. ’’When a Dark Fairy finds a lover, all kinds of things can happen depending on how she feels about the man and it’s clear to me Drusilla adores you, allowing her to appear at your side once a day which could be useful in life threatening situations thanks to her powerful magic.’’
Raegar was surprised but the blonde looked proud as she gave him a knowing grin. ’’At least you know my love for you is honest. I wouldn’t want people to think I’m tricking you like some others in my race are known to do.’’
’’I know this, Dru,’’ he reassued. ’’I can feel your love through our bond, I’ve never questioned it.’’
Dahlia smiled at this before the trio continued through the forest, coming across hundreds of monster bodies that they stored in their rings to sell back at the city for more gold coins. By the time they reached the dungeon it was dark and Raegar was tired, prompting him to set up a camp to stay for the night.
He set up the tent while the others gathered firewood or set up the runes to keep the monsters away whichw as useless thanks to the ring of Fusion Soldiers and patrolling knights protecting them from the horror of the dark.
