CHAPTER 33: CHAPTER 33: LITTLE HEN YUANYUAN

When the two reached the gate, Qin Yun paused, sent a message to Yuanyuan, then turned to Ji Ming and said, "Thanks for today. You head back first. I’m going to find my assistant."

"Alright, feel free to contact me if you need anything. Of course, it’s better if you don’t, which means everything is going smoothly without needing my help." Ji Ming pushed up his glasses.

Qin Yun raised an eyebrow, surprised that Ji Ming could say such things. From the moment she got his contact information to their meeting, he had left an impression of being very meticulous, even a bit rigid. It was quite unexpected that he’d say this.

"Thanks in advance. Hmm... I’ll tell Pei Yan to give you a bonus." Qin Yun said, pausing before continuing.

However, whether that bonus would be given, she didn’t know.

"Thank you, ma’am. It’s my duty to serve you. I’ll head back to the company now." Ji Ming’s eyes glinted slightly, and after speaking he walked toward the nearby parking lot.

Watching his departing figure, Qin Yun smiled slightly. Seeing that her assistant hadn’t come out yet, she took out her phone to call her.

There was a noticeable pause before the other side answered, breathlessly calling out, "Sister Yun."

Qin Yun frowned slightly, "What happened? Where are you? Are you home?"

From the other end, it sounded like there was running, as a panting voice replied, "I’m in the HR department. I’ll be down immediately."

"What are you doing in the HR department?" Qin Yun vaguely guessed and felt warmed, teasing her.

"Since you’re leaving, Sister Yun, I must follow in your footsteps!" Yuanyuan’s voice was still panting, but her words were confident.

"Beautiful!" Qin Yun hadn’t expected Yuanyuan to be so decisive, and couldn’t help but raise her voice and laugh.

Just as she finished speaking, someone called her, "Qin Yun? What are you standing here for?"

Qin Yun turned her head. Seeing who it was, her smile slightly faded. She said to Yuanyuan on the other end of the phone, "I’m waiting for you at the gate."

After saying this, she hung up the phone, her gaze meeting the agent’s with a calm response, "Waiting for Yuanyuan."

"It’s good you’re here, saves me the trouble of calling you again. I previously mentioned President Zhang to you, he has organized a gathering tonight. I was just about to find you, so you can come along with me now." Sister Li ignored the change in Qin Yun’s demeanor and spoke enthusiastically.

Seeing the eager attitude of the agent, the corners of Qin Yun’s beautiful peach-blossom eyes flashed with a meaningful sneer.

When something unusual happens, there’s always a reason!

Offering help without cause is either deceit or robbery!

She was indeed right.

"I have plans tonight, so it seems only you can go." Qin Yun said with a smile, looking very agreeable.

"Qin Yun! Now isn’t the time for tantrums, what plans could be more important than President Zhang’s gathering? He’s a well-known producer in the industry, and the company has invested in several major IPs. With just his word, you could easily get a decent role in them. Once you impress him, won’t you have great roles lined up in the future?" Sister Li restrained her temper as she persuaded earnestly.

"I’m your agent, how could I harm you? If you’re not successful, how does that benefit me? If you’re successful, I’ll earn more. In the end, we’re in this together—glory or failure alike. I’ve also carefully considered Agent Wang’s suggestions, and it indeed wouldn’t be fair to favor one talent over another. That’s why I plan to get you a few good scripts for better opportunities."

Qin Yun waited for her to finish before leisurely blowing the nonexistent dust off her nails, lazily lifting her eyes towards her, "Are you done?"

"Done... what do you mean by that?" The agent instinctively replied, then realizing, frowned and asked.

Before Qin Yun could answer, Yuanyuan had already rushed over, standing protectively in front of Qin Yun. She spoke angrily, "She means exactly this! Not a single word of what you said does Sister Yun believe! Sister Li! I used to think you were someone with principles, different from other agents in the industry, but it turns out you’re all the same!"

Having heard the agent’s voice, Yuanyuan didn’t wait for the elevator and instead ran all the way down. Hearing Sister Li’s shameless words only made her already flushed face from running turn even redder with anger.

"Mo Yuanyuan!!! You’ve grown audacious now, daring to defy me? Step aside now, and I’ll pretend none of this happened. I have something to discuss with your Sister Yun. Otherwise, don’t expect your salary this month!" Sister Li, furious at Yuanyuan’s words, resorted to threatening by addressing her by her full name.

"You can’t threaten me! I’ve already resigned! HR has approved my resignation, so I’m no longer an employee at Emperor. I can say whatever I want, and my salary isn’t for you to withhold!" Yuanyuan retorted defiantly.

For the first time, she felt how liberating resignation was!

She could shamelessly berate someone she had wanted to for the longest time.

"You, you, you!" The agent stammered but couldn’t come up with a response. Suddenly realizing, she asked, "You resigned?"

"Yes, so you can’t command me now." Yuanyuan huffed indignantly.

Qin Yun watched Yuanyuan standing protectively like a mother hen. This was the second time since she had arrived that she’d been protected this way.

Most people are selfish, rarely does anyone follow and protect someone at all costs.

Thinking of this, she gently patted Yuanyuan’s head, and tenderly said, "Everything you wish for, will come true."

"Sister Yun, why are you patting my head and talking like that? I’m not done arguing yet." Instantly subdued, Yuanyuan turned around and said.

Looking at Yuanyuan, Qin Yun suddenly felt that this trial wasn’t in vain.

She locked her gaze on the agent, a hint of coldness in her eyes. A few seconds later, she chuckled and ruffled Yuanyuan’s hair, saying, "Let’s go, there’s nothing worth saying to mad dogs. In less than a month, you won’t see her anymore."

Yuanyuan didn’t understand the meaning behind her words, assuming it was because they were leaving Emperor and naturally would have fewer chances to see Sister Li.

But the agent, just having briefly met Qin Yun’s gaze, felt a chilling cold all over, as if she were in the depths of winter, despite it only being early autumn. It was bizarre.

Hearing Qin Yun’s words, the agent wanted to counter, but was silenced by Qin Yun’s gaze as she calmly stated, "One should always leave a little principle and do more good deeds, otherwise..."

"It leads to self-destruction." She spat out the last few words.

Under Qin Yun’s captivating and haunting gaze, the agent was so terrified that she took several steps back, swallowing hard out of instinct, unsure why this side of Qin Yun scared her so much, completely forgetting what she intended to say.
