After Betrayal: Lightning Marriage to Mr. Enigmatic
Chapter 330 The Living Dead
CHAPTER 330: CHAPTER 330 THE LIVING DEAD
"Who performed the surgery on him?"
"It was my mentor himself who performed the surgery and pulled him back from the brink of death."
"Director Valley?"
"Yes, my mentor. This lunatic is his godson; he couldn’t let him die just like that, or he’d have a hard time explaining it to the brothers."
Isabella Weaver was taken aback. Alexander Parker has a godfather?
She never knew!
But there were many things about Alexander Parker and the Parker Family that she didn’t know. After all, it was her stepmother’s family, and she was neither close to them, nor were they receptive of her.
"So, you were assisting Director Valley in the operating room earlier to save Alexander Parker?"
Johan Niles gritted his teeth and said, "Save him? How is that possible! I was stopping my mentor from saving him! My hand was nearly ruined by him; it’s good enough I didn’t ruin him. I’m not as benevolent as my mentor!"
"When will he wake up? I have something very urgent to ask him!"
"Well... It’s hard to say. He’s severely injured, with internal bleeding, intracranial bleeding, all kinds of bleeding. If he doesn’t wake up soon, my mentor said he’d have to perform brain surgery on him. But this surgery is particularly risky, and he’s already called Alexander Parker’s parents."
Isabella Weaver gasped, "You clearly know his condition, yet you just said he’s faking it?"
"I was just joking. Otherwise, how could I scold him? Yelling at a living corpse would make me look cheap!"
Isabella Weaver could only sigh. She stood by Alexander Parker’s bedside for a while, her brow tightly furrowed. "Let me know when he wakes up."
"Don’t worry, sister-in-law. I’ll be the first to tell you when he wakes up!"
Isabella Weaver nodded and turned to Harry Hunter’s room.
He remained quietly asleep, his breathing still weak, but his face wasn’t as pale as before, regaining some color.
Separated by a wall, two men were both in deep sleep.
Isabella Weaver lay on the bed, her tears quickly soaking the sheets.
During the day she seemed strong and resolute, calm and composed, but in reality, she was just forcibly suppressing the sadness and pain in her heart.
Every second he was in a coma was so torturous.
She wished he would sit up, hold her, and say to her, "Well done, my lady!"
The noise outside signaled the arrival of Alexander Parker’s parents.
Reese Renfrew’s cries echoed through the entire corridor, with doctors and nurses quietly comforting her.
Isabella Weaver didn’t move, still staying by Harry Hunter’s side.
It wasn’t until she heard another burst of noise that she slowly lifted her head, wiped her eyes, and walked out.
"Where’s my grandson? Get out of my way! If you keep blocking me, you’re all fired, get out!"
Connor stood firm, and the trained men behind him didn’t blink, thoroughly blocking the room’s door, not letting anyone in.
Isabella Weaver emerged from inside, immediately spotting the elderly woman with surprisingly vigorous presence despite her graying hair, accompanied by Cherry Lewis with her head bowed respectfully by her side.
Hearing the noise, Cherry Lewis looked up at her, a mocking smile briefly appearing on her lips before disappearing again, reverting to her gentle and docile manner.
Isabella Weaver felt that Cherry Lewis was different from before.
Although Cherry Lewis used to appear gentle, her gaze, aura, and body language all exuded her assertiveness, sharp and unyielding.
But now, she had restrained all of her sharpness.
Without Ryder Lewis’s support, her confidence was not as strong as before.
