After Betrayal: Lightning Marriage to Mr. Enigmatic
Chapter 338: Sweet and Sour
CHAPTER 338: CHAPTER 338: SWEET AND SOUR
Her morning voice sounded especially languid and charming, coupled with a coy tone, the sweet air filled the entire hospital room.
Harry Hunter knew she hadn’t rested for two days and a night, his voice tender beyond belief: "I won’t scare you, be good, Isabella, sleep a little more, hold me tight, I’m warm."
When had Ben Hunter ever seen his grandson this gentle and loving?
His eyes widened, his jaw almost dropped with shock!
The Harry he personally raised, he knew Harry’s personality the best; his grandson was clearly a little monster who didn’t understand what gentleness meant at all! Talking to this little monster, one would surely be infuriated within three sentences!
Yet he actually coaxed someone?
Ben stroked his chin, oh my, his grandson has really become sensible!
Wasn’t he randomly marrying a "waitress"? But this didn’t look like ordinary sweetness!
In any case, he had never experienced such sweetness in his entire life!
Ben felt a bit sour in his heart.
His marriage was arranged by the family, not a wife he chose himself.
He and the old lady were respectful to each other in their early years, barely peaceful in middle age, and quarreled in old age; even at their best, their relationship wasn’t like Harry and Isabella’s.
With a stomach full of resentment, Ben glanced at his grandson, gently opened the door, and left.
Harry was baffled, why is the old man acting so unusual today, was he shocked by Leon’s sudden departure?
Alas, the old man is quite pitiful too, maybe I should console him someday?
Isabella was too exhausted, completely unaware that someone had been in the room; when she woke up again, it was already close to noon.
She looked at the clock and suddenly sat up: "How did I sleep so long!"
Harry was getting an IV, and said softly: "You were too tired, get up, eat something, then go back to sleep."
"Then what?"
"Then get up again, eat something, then it will be dark, and you can continue sleeping."
Isabella shook her head half-laughing, half-crying: "Do you really treat me like a pig, eating and sleeping all the time?"
Harry, however, looked proud: "Where would you find such a smart pig, the pigs I raise are all exceptionally unique!"
Isabella glared at him: "You’re the pig!"
She got out of bed, went to the bathroom to wash up, and noticed that Connor had somehow already brought in clothes and toiletries for her and Harry.
She looked at herself in the mirror in confusion, could she really be a pig? How did she hear nothing!
After a shower, washing up, and changing clothes, Isabella quickly tidied herself up and walked out of the bathroom to find a sumptuous lunch already laid out on the table.
Harry was sitting at the table, looking much better than yesterday.
Isabella went up to touch his forehead: "It seems like the fever isn’t as bad, are you going out this afternoon?"
"Hmm."
Harry held Isabella’s hand, letting her sit beside him: "Austin Winters refuses to say anything, and Amy Winters claims not to know anything. This afternoon I’ll go interrogate them with grandpa; there must be issues with both of their identities."
Thinking about it, how could an ordinary woman manage Leon Hunter!
They previously thought Leon was infatuated, only now realizing Amy Winters must have unusual tactics.
But Harry despised her too much, and interacted too little with her, never noticing any clues.
"Connor said, you asked him to check Austin Winters’ DNA? Why, do you think something’s wrong with him?" Harry now valued her opinions highly.
"I can’t really say, it’s just that when we caught him that day, it seemed too easy, a bit unreal."
