After Betrayal: Lightning Marriage to Mr. Enigmatic
Chapter 484: Young Master Hunter’s Wisdom
CHAPTER 484: CHAPTER 484: YOUNG MASTER HUNTER’S WISDOM
Inside the roadside Jetta, Connor’s face was a bit pale.
"Cora, I’ll give you my card, come back, okay?"
"Connor, I’m sorry."
"No, it’s me who should apologize. I didn’t know your family was in trouble. I haven’t cared enough for you!"
Connor shoved the card into Cora Ginger’s hand: "Use this to pay off the debt. You might not know, but my salary is quite high—Young Master is very generous to me."
"I know you aren’t short of money, but you worked hard for it. You can’t spend it like this."
Cora Ginger returned the card: "Besides, my family is actually a bottomless pit, the debts never end. I don’t want to drag you down; you have your own struggles."
She opened the car door and stepped out.
Connor suddenly grabbed her wrist, then noticed the silver Rolex on it.
This particular Rolex is worth hundreds of thousands, and he just saw the same one on Peter Barnes’s wrist—it’s a couple’s watch.
Connor suddenly let go, sitting dazed in the car.
He used to joke that Young Master Hunter didn’t know how to woo girls, but perhaps he was the one who’s clueless about it?
All this time, he hadn’t bought Cora Ginger any gifts.
Peter Barnes had only known her for a few days and already bought her couple’s watches, given her a house, and cash. Forget Cora Ginger, most others wouldn’t be able to resist such a strong offensive!
Connor sat in the car for a long time, until it was dark, and only woke up when Harry Hunter called him.
"How did it go?"
"She’s still going to get married."
Harry Hunter was exasperated: "Why don’t you just knock her out and take her home?"
"I don’t want to force her; she has her own difficulties too."
"So you’ll just watch her marry someone else?"
"I don’t want to."
"Then knock that Barnes guy out! Leave her no one to marry!"
Connor’s eyes lit up: "Young Master is brilliant!"
Half an hour later, Peter Barnes was tossed into the martial arts gym.
Connor instructed his underlings: "Keep a good watch on him. If he escapes, I’ll break your legs!"
With Peter Barnes missing for a few days, without a fiancé, Cora Ginger would naturally come back to him!
Connor finally felt better and went to report to Harry Hunter.
"It’s solved, Young Master, I can go back to work now!"
Harry Hunter nodded and handed him a card: "Here’s your bonus for half a year. Use it to get married."
Connor was touched: "Young Master, you’re really good to me."
"It’s embarrassing if people hear that my subordinate lost his girlfriend because he’s poor. Change your entire wardrobe to the best, throw away that broken Jetta, and pick a car from my garage to drive."
Connor’s eyes reddened: "Young Master, may I hug you?"
Harry Hunter looked indifferent: "No!"
He directly sent Connor away and went upstairs to find his lovely wife.
His lovely wife was in the study designing the latest jewelry, working diligently to an astonishing degree.
He briefly explained what happened with Connor: "Now you don’t have to worry; there’s no way Cora Ginger can get married."
"That’s good."
Isabella Weaver let out a sigh of relief, "I heard from David that Cora’s family owes more than 20 million; how did they end up in so much debt?"
"Her brother gambled and took out high-interest loans. It’s been five years, and their family even sold the house but still couldn’t pay off the debt. So they’ve been hoping she could marry into a wealthy family to fill the hole."
Isabella Weaver was astounded that Cora Ginger still protected her brother, saying her brother cared for her?
"Zack Ginger met many wealthy people at the casino and always wanted to sell his sister at a good price, but it’s unfortunate that everyone else offered too little. Peter Barnes’s conditions far exceeded his expectations, so he couldn’t let go. But logically, someone like Cora Ginger shouldn’t be able to reach Peter Barnes, who is a famous eligible bachelor, not lacking in women at all."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, there’s someone orchestrating all of this!"
"Who?"
"Natalie Niles!"
