CHAPTER 505: CHAPTER 505: YOUNG MASTER HUNTER IS HEARTLESS

The sky is gradually lightening.

Connor dragged his fatigued body to Harry Hunter’s villa to wait for orders.

In the past, he could go for days without rest and still be full of energy. This was the first time he was completely drained after an all-nighter.

Harry immediately noticed something was off.

"Who hit you?" His cheek had a noticeable bruise, his eyes were dark, and his whole being seemed soul-drained, like a living corpse.

This was something Harry had never seen before.

Even when Cora was about to marry, he wasn’t this despondent.

"Johan Niles did."

"He could beat you?"

"I didn’t dodge, I let him hit me."

"Why?"

"Because I killed Natalie Niles."

Harry was stunned: "Natalie Niles is dead?"

Wouldn’t Johan Niles go completely mad?

Before Natalie joined the special forces, in the entire Niles family, she cherished Johan more than their parents did!

Connor’s eyes were bloodshot, and his voice was hoarse beyond recognition: "Young Master, I didn’t mean to kill her. Considering Johan, I wouldn’t kill her... I lost control, Young Master..."

"Was she the one wailing at your house every night?"

"Yes, I fought her every day, and beat her badly."

"You confined her for a month?"

"Yes..."

"You liked her?"

"No!"

Connor hurriedly denied: "I couldn’t hate her more, how could I possibly like her!"

"Then why do you look as if you’ve lost your wife?"

Harry’s expression was indifferent: "Since you didn’t like her, she’s dead, she’s dead. She’s not the only soul you’ve claimed!"

Connor finally broke down and cried, Young Master is so heartless!

"Hurry home, get some sleep, you look like a ghost. Stop crying!"

"I can’t sleep, every time I close my eyes, I see Natalie’s face!"

"It’s okay. You’re just experiencing post-homicidal stress syndrome. Go see a psychologist for some counseling. I’ll give you a couple more days off."

"I’ve had lots of days off recently."

"You’ve never had a break before, now’s your chance. Go on!"

Harry watched Connor leave, then turned and went upstairs.

Isabella was freshening up and asked him, "I feel like I heard Connor crying, did something happen?"

"Nothing."

Harry picked up a towel, wetted it with warm water, and gently wiped her face: "He watched a movie where a woman was being beaten repeatedly and died; he cried because of that."

"Huh?"

Isabella looked utterly shocked: "Connor is that sensitive?"

"He’s soft-hearted."

Harry explained calmly.

Connor was more human than him, with rich emotions, unlike him—cold-blooded and heartless, inherently indifferent. Even when his biological father died, he didn’t feel much, let alone for someone like Natalie.

In some ways, he was somewhat similar to Alexander Parker; neither cared much whether others lived or died. The difference was, Alexander indeed had a mental illness, a physiological defect making him incapable of empathy.

As for himself, he had empathy, but only for those he cared about. He was truly ruthless.

"Isabella, will you ever leave me?"

Isabella was still shocked that Connor cried over a movie, feeling unable to follow his train of thought: "Why is your topic jumping so much? If I don’t want you, then who would I want?"

"Connor cries when people die, yet I feel nothing. I’m hard-hearted and cold, do you like me like this?"

So that’s what this is about!

Isabella rinsed her mouth, then gently kissed his chin: "You might not know this, but I actually like you being ice-cold. When we were getting married, if you weren’t this cold, I might not have married you!"
