After Betrayal: Lightning Marriage to Mr. Enigmatic
Chapter 580: Are you so clingy to me now?
CHAPTER 580: CHAPTER 580: ARE YOU SO CLINGY TO ME NOW?
Natalie Niles finished speaking and walked away with indifference, wearing her slightly worn military boots.
Matt Frinch watched her back, his expression uncertain.
This woman’s psychological resilience was too strong; no matter how he tested her, he couldn’t discern her true thoughts. This probe had completely failed, and worse, it had alerted the target.
He really couldn’t determine whether Natalie Niles liked that bodyguard. Logically, she probably didn’t. A person like Natalie, how could she possibly have real feelings for a bodyguard?
But he knew even more clearly how much Natalie Niles hated men touching her. Everyone who tried ended up suffering terribly!
The fact that she was willing to let that bodyguard touch her at least proved that this man held a special place in her heart.
Matt Frinch thought about it for a while but decided to let the higher-ups make the judgment; otherwise, the loss would be unbearable for him.
At noon, Matt Frinch received orders from above: kill!
He quickly passed down the instructions, just waiting for Connor to leave the base and then take his life—if Natalie Niles insisted on refusing to complete the mission.
The lunch at the base was fairly sumptuous, with a full range of meat, milk, and eggs to supplement the hardworking special forces soldiers with nutrition.
Natalie Niles was enduring immense pressure and torment at the moment, sitting with Connor and eating as if nothing was wrong.
Thousands of days and nights of hard training in the special forces had forged her extraordinary endurance and ability to remain calm, allowing her to eat quickly, ignoring the blood streaks in the beef, the bland taste of the vegetables, and the dust particles in the rice.
Connor had barely eaten a tenth of the food on his plate. When he turned his head, he saw that Natalie Niles had already finished a large portion!
He felt a lump in his throat, grabbed Natalie’s hand, and held it tightly in his palm: "Let’s go home, not stay here anymore."
He had specially reported to Harry Hunter, who had already agreed for him to take Natalie Niles back.
Natalie looked at the large hand holding hers and lifted it to her lips for a kiss: "Okay."
Connor touched her face, embraced her, and whispered, "Don’t eat so fast, your stomach can’t take it. I’ll cook something delicious for you when we’re home."
"Okay."
He took Natalie Niles out of the room to find Lucas Chambers.
Lucas Chambers personally escorted the two out of the base. As they were about to part, Lucas gave Connor a big hug: "Actually, Natalie is outstanding. Since you can sleep with her and keep your head, I suppose in the future it won’t fall off. It’s rare for someone to sleep with her and still be lively."
Connor laughed: "Can’t you wish me a little better?"
"Of course!"
Lucas Chambers laughed: "I wish my dog brother soon gives birth to a litter of puppies, and surely each one will be a martial genius! You guys are a powerhouse match!"
Connor smiled broadly, said goodbye to Lucas Chambers, and had people from the unit drive a military off-road vehicle to take them to the airport.
Along the way, Natalie Niles didn’t let go of Connor’s hand.
Connor chuckled lightly: "Are you so attached to me now? What are you going to do in the future?"
Natalie smiled back at him: "I’m not clingy."
Connor hugged her with heartfelt affection: "It’s okay, you can cling to me, I like you clinging to me."
"Then let’s not go back to A City today, you accompany me to walk around here, okay?"
"The tickets are already booked..."
"We can book again."
Natalie leaned in to give him a kiss: "Stay with me here, Connor."
Connor couldn’t resist her request and agreed.
Once the special forces transported them to the airport, he took Natalie Niles for a stroll around.
The surroundings of the airport were all quite similar, not much to see, but with the person they liked beside them, even a blade of grass or a piece of stone seemed delightful.
At night, Connor couldn’t resist Natalie’s pleading and stayed with her in a hotel.
