After Betrayal: Lightning Marriage to Mr. Enigmatic
Chapter 98: Genius or Madman
CHAPTER 98: CHAPTER 98: GENIUS OR MADMAN
In the middle of the night, a soft sound in the room startled Ella Weaver awake.
In the dim light, Alexander Parker stood at the foot of her bed, holding a pure white cat, his eyes dark and sinister, as though he might strangle her at any moment.
"Ah!"
Ella Weaver screamed and jumped up.
Alexander Parker was displeased: "What are you screaming for? Sit down!"
Ella Weaver’s legs gave out, and she sat back down obediently.
"Let me give you a guiding light, dear cousin."
"Huh?"
"I know who took your parents."
Ella Weaver clung to this lifeline: "Who?"
"Go to the police and say that the man who tricked Isabella into marriage kidnapped your parents, and everything will be resolved."
Ella Weaver’s eyes widened: "What are you saying, Isabella is married?"
"As long as you report it to the police, her marriage will be declared invalid and automatically annulled, then she’ll marry me. She is mine!"
Images of the man she encountered at the Star Region Mall flashed through Ella’s mind—cold, noble, handsome, extravagant. Did Isabella really marry him?
Despite all her efforts to stop it, she failed?
No, no way. She wouldn’t let Isabella marry such a good man! She deserved to marry someone like Alexander Parker, to suffer endlessly!
Was it that man who took Christopher Weaver and them?
But why?
Christopher Weaver had no grudge against him!
"Fine, I’ll go to the police! But what about you? Didn’t you see Isabella today? Why didn’t you bring her back?"
"She didn’t want to."
Ella Weaver was incredulous: "She didn’t want to, so you didn’t bring her?"
"Of course, I want my Little Isabella to be happy. What’s the point of forcing her?"
Ella Weaver couldn’t suppress her jealousy; he always treated Isabella differently, spoiled her immensely. After five years apart from Isabella, his fondness had not diminished but intensified.
She bitterly thought, Alexander Parker’s condition must not have improved. The more he loves Isabella, the stronger his underlying urge to destroy her becomes!
Love away!
The more he loves Isabella, the more miserable she will be!
Alexander Parker knew what she was thinking; he squeezed the cat in his arms just enough for it to wail pitifully.
Ella Weaver flinched, feeling a shiver down her spine, as if she were that cat, threatened with death at any moment.
Alexander Parker, seeing her trembling, lost interest instantly.
His Little Isabella would never react like that; she would have snatched the cat from him, saved its life. She was truly kind-hearted.
He tossed the cat onto Ella Weaver: "I do like this cat, now I’m giving it to you!"
Ella Weaver didn’t dare move and only poked the cat after he left, her face then turned pale!
It wasn’t breathing anymore.
This psychopath!!!
Everything he likes, he has to destroy!
Mom, Dad, where are you? Help me! Cousin is insane; I don’t want to stay here! I want to go home!
Ryan Parker heard her cries and rushed over: "Ella, what’s the matter?"
"Uncle, I’m scared, I want... to go home! Cousin, he..."
Ella Weaver was so frightened she could not form a complete sentence.
Ryan Parker saw the cat and understood instantly; he hugged Ella Weaver, comforting her: "Don’t be afraid, Ella. This cat was very sick. Your cousin went through great lengths to keep it alive till now. It’s finally free from illness and pain."
These words did nothing to comfort her; Ella Weaver cried even harder, feeling like her uncle had gone mad, too, showing no sympathy for the cat!
Ryan Parker couldn’t console her and told her to sleep with Reese Renfrew while he searched the villa for his son.
After checking the footage, he discovered his son had left long ago.
He had spent a hundred thousand to install this special lock, assured by the seller it was extremely secure, even the most professional thief would find it impenetrable—yet Alexander Parker opened it in mere seconds!
A super-intelligent son is troublesome; not even locks can deter him!
He was initially worried his son might use Ella Weaver’s fingers as keys, but it seems his son had no such need.
