After Breaking Up, I Married the Dying Tycoon in a Flash
Chapter 241: Unshakable Belief
CHAPTER 241: CHAPTER 241: UNSHAKABLE BELIEF
Her eyes were hollow, her pale and weak face wore a mocking smile; the next moment, she burst into uncontrollable laughter.
As she laughed, tears streamed down her face, and she whispered softly: "Li Sihe, I hate you..."
Outside the door, Zhuang Yi stood with a gloomy face, looking at the firmly closed hospital room door, his expression filled with worry.
Zhuang Jie Ning’s mental state made him extremely anxious.
But at this point, Zhuang Yi could only pay the price for his past choices.
Although he coveted the Li Family’s prestige and status, had he known in advance that Zhuang Jie Ning would end up like this, Zhuang Yi would have never agreed to cooperate with the Li Family.
After all, he only had this one daughter.
At that moment, the closed hospital room suddenly swung open; Zhuang Yi was startled. Before he could react, Zhuang Jie Ning had already dashed out quickly.
"Jie Ning..." Zhuang Yi was stunned, watching as Zhuang Jie Ning was about to disappear from his line of sight, he said angrily: "What are you all standing around for! Go after her!"
"Yes!"
The bodyguards snapped to action and chased after Zhuang Jie Ning.
The direction Zhuang Jie Ning was running towards was the hospital’s crematorium.
The night was deep. She barged in to find only Tang Yuwei inside.
The latter was sitting on the ground, holding a dark-colored urn in her arms, her face stricken with uncontainable grief. Seeing Zhuang Jie Ning walk in, the sorrow on Tang Yuwei’s face was overtaken by panic; she instinctively gripped the urn tighter.
"What do you want to do?"
"What do I want to do? That’s what I should be asking the Li Family, right? What do you all want to do!" Tears of pain filled Zhuang Jie Ning’s eyes as she glared at Tang Yuwei, her voice full of hatred, "You people drove me to this state, and now, shamelessly, you turn around and dare to ask me what I want to do!"
"Calm down!" Tang Yuwei’s face turned deathly pale, she held the urn even tighter and slowly stood up, "You chose this path yourself! Zhuang Jie Ning, you’re an adult, and you should pay the price for your actions!"
"No one told me that the price would be my child! No mother can accept such a price! Are you saying that because Li Sihe is dead, this is your just desserts too?" Zhuang Jie Ning laughed coldly, looking down on Tang Yuwei with disdain as she slowly approached her.
"Don’t come closer!" Tang Yuwei retreated in panic. Watching Zhuang Jie Ning’s face twisted with grief and anger, she retreated step by step to a corner of the wall, her complexion ashen.
"Tang Yuwei, I’ve always thought you were incredibly hypocritical. You seem to care about nothing in the Li Family, yet you know exactly why you have everything you do; you’re just pretending to be ignorant! People like you, you’re just disgustingly fake!"
Zhuang Jie Ning looked downcast, gazing at the urn Tang Yuwei was hugging tightly to her chest, "Tell me, what’s the point of holding on to this when he’s already dead? I can’t even see my child for the last time; why should you still have memories?"
As she spoke, her emotions completely spun out of control, and she abruptly reached out to grapple for the urn in Tang Yuwei’s hands, her actions bordering on madness.
"Zhuang Jie Ning! Have you gone mad! Let go! Let go!"
"Give it to me! If I can’t have it, no one else can!"
By the time Zhuang Yi rushed in with a group of bodyguards, this was the scene that greeted them. He hurried forward to stop Zhuang Jie Ning, his voice and demeanor heartbroken, "Jie Ning, calm down, whatever you’re doing now is already futile! You need to be strong!"
"I can’t calm down! Why should I! This is not fair!"
Zhuang Jie Ning gripped Tang Yuwei’s arm tightly, refusing to let go. Despite having just undergone surgery, her strength was astonishing.
Her eyes were bloodshot, staring at Tang Yuwei with unresolved resentment, continuously muttering about the unfairness.
Looking at Zhuang Jie Ning in this state, Tang Yuwei felt as though she was possessed by something vile.
"Zhuang Yi! Control your daughter! If she causes any trouble, it will reflect badly on your Zhuang Family too!"
Tang Yuwei, panicking, looked at Zhuang Jie Ning while warning Zhuang Yi, struggling repeatedly to break free.
Finally, with Herculean effort and the help of the bodyguards, she managed to extricate her arm.
At this moment, Tang Yuwei’s gaze towards Zhuang Jie Ning was filled with fear.
Zhuang Yi, following his signal, had his subordinates take Zhuang Jie Ning away. Only then did he turn to Tang Yuwei with a solemn face and apologetic expression, "This incident was an accident. I apologize, I will discipline my daughter and ensure nothing of this sort happens again."
"Again? There will never be an ’again’ between your Zhuang Family and me. Zhuang Yi, your fine daughter has literally killed my son! If it weren’t for her, Shiheng’s illness wouldn’t have worsened so quickly!" Tang Yuwei’s expression was one of pain, utterly disregarding any semblance of courtesy, "I will not let the Zhuang Family off! Never!"
"Tang Yuwei, don’t blame me for being blunt, but in your current state, what right do you have not to forgive the Zhuang Family? Don’t you know? The Li Family has gone bankrupt. You have nothing now. If it wasn’t for the sake of my daughter’s reputation, I wouldn’t have cared if she killed you just now!"
Zhuang Yi turned cold and impatient as he looked at Tang Yuwei.
Tang Yuwei stared at Zhuang Yi in shock, "It was your Zhuang Family who begged us to partner up in the first place! If it weren’t for Tingmo showing mercy, after the disaster Zhuang Jie Ning caused back then, your Zhuang Family would have been finished!"
His response was only a disdainful and indifferent look, "Times have changed. The Li Family is finished! You, Madam Li, are nothing now!"
Having said that, Zhuang Yi no longer paid any attention to Tang Yuwei and left.
Tang Yuwei stood in place for a long while, her expression gradually becoming numb. She suddenly let out a laugh, then, holding the urn, she walked out in a daze.
So what if they do?
At the moment of Li Sihe’s passing, she, as a mother, suddenly felt that in this world, there was nothing left to lose.
The power and influence of the Li Family that she once cared about so deeply, now seemed to her nothing but a passing cloud.
If time could rewind, she would rather have nothing, just as long as her child could be happy for a lifetime...
The night at the Shen Family Mansion was brightly lit.
Bian Yue gazed at the badge that Shen Jinci had handed to her, her expression vacant.
"This badge belonged to an organization I was once part of, and this one, to the Godfather." Shen Jinci’s voice was calm, and he gently held Bian Yue in his arms, patiently explaining, "If you go to the S state, take this badge, and you’ll find the current Godfather. He will grant you any request."
Bian Yue used to not believe Shen Jinci’s words, but now she had no doubt.
She just gripped the badge in her hand uneasily and asked him with trepidation, "Can you not go back there in the future? Shen Jinci, that place is too dangerous."
