After Breaking Up, I Married the Dying Tycoon in a Flash
Chapter 258: A Change of Reign
CHAPTER 258: CHAPTER 258: A CHANGE OF REIGN
After speaking, she saw Shen Jinci not saying anything, and blinked nervously, "What’s wrong? Did I say something wrong?"
"No, Yueyue, you’ve spoken well," Shen Jinci smiled softly and said, "Go on, I’ll wait for your good news."
Only then did Bian Yue’s smile become more genuine; she pecked Shen Jinci’s cheek affectionately with a drawn-out teasing tone, "Tonight, my treat for dinner."
"Okay."
"No, it might be a midnight snack."
"Okay."
Bian Yue pinched Shen Jinci’s face, as uninhibited as a child, asking, "Got any other words to say?"
Shen Jinci smiled, took Bian Yue’s hand in his, kissed her palm, and said softly, "Whatever you say is fine."
By the time Bian Yue arrived at Fengcheng Group, Li Tingmo had already prepared all the collaborations; stacks of documents covered the table, evidently ready long ago.
Fengcheng Group was now desolate; as Bian Yue went upstairs from the lobby, she didn’t see a single person.
At this moment, as she looked at Li Tingmo sitting alone facing her, she couldn’t help but feel an indescribable desolation about him.
Bian Yue lowered her eyes to the documents in front of her and spoke in a calm tone, "Have you signed them all?"
"Of course, how dare I waste President Bian’s time," Li Tingmo sneered tiredly and closed his eyes, "Bian Yue, are you satisfied now? You got everything you wanted, you’ve won."
Bian Yue sat down and began flipping through the documents.
Li Tingmo exhaled a heavy breath, slowly opened his eyes, and stared at Bian Yue’s profile with a deep and gloomy gaze. He spoke emotionlessly, "You’re far more ruthless than I imagined, Bian Yue. Only by not caring about Shiheng’s kindness towards you could you press me like this."
"I’ve already been lenient with you out of consideration for Shiheng," said Bian Yue, looking up at Li Tingmo with a cold smile, "Otherwise, I wouldn’t leave even a ceremonial seat for you. This seat is to save face for the Li Family."
"Why put it so nobly, if it weren’t for me willing to hand over Fengcheng to you, you’d wish to rise to the top overnight, but afraid that might exhaust your whole life," Li Tingmo sneered, walked in front of Bian Yue, "Have you thought it through? Can you handle such a big business like Sister Yao’s?"
"I never touched the Bian Family’s money. I reckon after licking clean Fengcheng’s accounts, there should still be some left," Bian Yue paused, her smile turned even colder, "No, it’s not Fengcheng now, it’s the Bian Group."
Li Tingmo’s face turned an ashen blue; old events surged up, picked up from their dusty corners, becoming clear.
"The Bian Group... it indeed is a name I’ve not heard in a long time," Li Tingmo chuckled and sat down opposite to Bian Yue.
"Back when your father was around, Bian Group was as glorious as the Li Family. Unfortunately, your father was too clever but not ruthless enough, which was fatal in the business world. However, you are ruthless enough, you might go further than your father."
These harsh words didn’t change Bian Yue’s expression.
She flipped through the documents and said blandly, "My lawyer is on the way. He will come in later, and I will leave all these documents to him for assessment. If there are no issues, I’ll sign."
"Okay," Li Tingmo’s gloomy face masked by sadness, a weariness he couldn’t hide enveloped him, yet he still forced himself to not show weakness.
"There’s something, after all these years, that I’ve always wanted to ask you," Bian Yue set aside the documents, looking at Li Tingmo.
Li Tingmo mustered his energy, though his voice was light, "Go ahead."
"My father was a mild and proud man, never making friends lightly. As far as I know, all these years, you were the only one he called a friend. You frequently visited the Bian Family when I was young, always appearing kind-hearted, I just want to know, was it all fake?" her voice turned colder, bit by bit, "Was your old friendship with my father all fake?"
"That was all real, I was truly sincere towards your father, but the Li Family was more important. What’s a few decades of friendship with your father compared to that? If the Li Family needs it, even my own gains and losses are insignificant!" Li Tingmo looked directly at Bian Yue, offering a self-mocking smile, "In my whole life, I have no regrets, my only regret is that I didn’t raise my son well!"
Bian Yue felt a chill in her heart.
She looked coldly at Li Tingmo, the pitiful and tragic man.
"After all that has happened, you still say you have no regrets? Li Tingmo, the one who died is your own son, if you had even a sliver of affection, you couldn’t say such words!"
"You stand here righteously condemning me, isn’t it just because Li Sihe was scheming for you until his death? He indeed was loyal and devoted to you, but for the Li Family! He is a traitor!" Li Tingmo’s sneer intensifies, a flash of fierceness in his eyes, he spoke coldly: "Li Sihe, to die is not a pity!"
Bian Yue finally saw the real Li Tingmo.
How selfish and indifferent he was, how ruthless and heartless.
After so many years in the Li Family, for Li Sihe to have earned any recognition from Li Tingmo must have been harder than she could have imagined.
Bian Yue’s heart ached sharply; she kept a cold face and stopped talking.
Until the lawyer arrived, confirmed there were no problems with the documents, Bian Yue silently signed, not willing to say another word to Li Tingmo.
Li Tingmo looked at the sealed contract, full of pain in his heart. With no way to vent, he could only aim his bitterness at Bian Yue, "You really do have a big temper, those who don’t know might think you’re the one who went bankrupt! Now that you’ve got everything, what are you unhappy about?"
"What you wanted, the Li Family is preserved, it’s just that it no longer concerns you in the future, what do you have to be angry about, this is already the best choice you could make," Bian Yue coldly retorted, her voice turned to ice.
Li Tingmo, dumbfounded by Bian Yue, knew the situation was beyond him; he let out a cold laugh, "Have it your way!"
When Bai Xu entered, everything was already decided.
Bian Yue looked at Bai Xu’s calm face and said matter-of-factly, "Assistant Bai, I am now the legal representative of the Bian Group, if you have any questions, talk to me."
Bai Xu was not surprised by the outcome.
Yet he still followed procedure, chuckled softly, "Miss Bian, which Bian Group are you referring to?"
"Thirty minutes ago, Fengcheng Group officially became the Bian Group. Of course, I will assume responsibility for all the deficits," Bian Yue smiled composedly, looking at Bai Xu, slowly said, "Assistant Bai, would you honor me with a meal?"
Bai Xu also smiled, his voice as warming as a spring breeze, "Of course, it’s just mealtime, why don’t we invite Mr. Shen to join us?"
Bian Yue narrowed her eyes, a sharp glint flashed by, then she smiled, composing herself, "Alright."
